  1. Highest Skydiving Dog Been there done that! When we were at ground zero WTC, PETA were protesting us (FEMA) using dogs to locate trapped survivors. When I was asked what my response to this was by a Wall Street Journal Reporter, I told him that I promised that if any of their family was ever trapped or missing I would not offend them by using my dog to find them! As for this record, it was not for fun. Cara and I are part of a search and rescue special response team that jumps into remote locations to search for missing people. The jump was the result of developing an oxygen system to allow dogs to HALO jump. If your next question is why, the answer is that it military related. I train military units how to jump with dogs. First of all it is not just a matter of grabbing something with a pulse and jumping. It takes months of preparation. You have to apply for the record that you want to attempt and have it approved. The documentation alone was over 45 pages which included affidavits, veterinary examinations, certification of flight instruments calibration etc. plus video, stills and news reports. And then there is the cost of the plane and HALO equipment, safety jumpmasters, video crew etc. Now you would have to find a commercial aircraft that is certified to go above 30,000’ with the door open. Then since it was during the WFFC you have the logistics of when you can jump since they have to shut down the airspace. Sounds like an expensive rat jump to me.
  2. As a matter of fact, yes! She is my hero and she earned it!
  3. On January 11, 2005 Cara and I will be on Sony Pictures Television show "Life & Style" with Jules Asner, Lynne Koplitz, Kimora Lee Simmons and Cynthia Garrett. It is about Cara and her Guinness world record jump (30,100') at Rantoul this last year. It includes footage of the jump. For the station listing and time in your area go Here
  4. Paul Herrick Took me on my first plane ride and showed me how to pack a parachute (round) when I was eight. I did my first jump with him four years ago. I took his wife on a tandem last year. He still jumps today, 38 years later.

  12. Yes you do!Yo Clay, treat the boy like a sheep!
  13. And don't forget that other thing that you are suspposed to be doing.......WORK!
  14. And let's not forget all of the military and tactical benefits of tandems! Oh, that's right, they are bad too. Another case of Bill & Ted’s excellent adventure gone wrong.
  15. And again your "I don't think" is wrong. Your "doubt" is as wrong as your "I don't think".
  16. No, not one person in over 20 years has ever asked either of them why, nor has it been brought up in any of the numerous articles, lectures or awards for their contribution to tandems.
  17. Let's not forget how Bill and Tedd are clueless about what they did and had no idea as to the impact of tandems. And they didn't even know how to slow the damn things down other than using a "band-aid" drogue. What idiots they must feel like. Some people should just seek help!
  18. Okay everyone, only one word .....TROLL!
  19. I don't know, can you say STAMPEED!
  20. Hey, speaking of getting laid and videos....I thought that one of you mounting that sheep right at the edge of a cliff was a pretty smart way of getting her to back into you!
  21. (sp) is correct I guess that about takes any argument out of this thread!
  22. Oh, PLEASE!!!!!! What are your excuses for not jumping with me BABE? I was there the first and last day you were there and days in between! Your ass owes me like in prison! Hope life has been treating you well. Mike
  23. Well, the obvious answer is that they created a product to meet a demand, otherwise it would have died away. I always find it entertaining to listen to people that try to slam those who have vision, wisdom and success of the same. When you say anybody who are you talking about? Do you mean the millions of people that have done tandems? Or is it the FAA, military etc.? You tell me since your opinion seems to conflict with about every expert on the subject. Do you really think that you are wiser than all of those people combined? NOT! According to whom? Again, not only is this not true but I find it amazing that you actually believe that you know more than everyone else. Damn, am I glad that the industry and the end users ignored this "clue". Wow, good thing we are going with reality on this one and we will never know!
