  1. "muff muff muff" Can someone pass this along to someone in Johnny's family - contact me for the full resolution images, if wanted (no cost). The attached photo's are 3 out of an 11 frame sequence. My condolences Josh Morell 541-779-1967 http://www.imagethisphoto.com
  2. dont know about a parasail... To get high, use a paraglider with a towing winch. I made it to 3,100' behind a boat last summer. Solo jump recommendation- attach a ballast (water bottle) to one brake to bring the wing/harness down faster. I've never seen a tandem tow, but would guess its close to the same- much depends on the boat/equipment. check out www.towmeup.com to connect with the tow pro, Stu.
  3. Hang Gliders in the Park The Pilot must meet certain criteria to gain a permit to fly the park. Yes a permit is required along with advanced ratings. Its a pretty tight arrangement, and those whom get to fly, know how lucky they are. Tom about hit the nail on the head regarding USHGA and the NPS. The Yosemite NPS knows if they allow Paragliding, then BASE is next. However much time has passed since then, and the pressure is on again. USHGA is again trying to gain access for Foot Launched pilots in NP's. I'm trying to stay optimistic Yes a group of Paragliders were busted for kiting their wings in the park. Climbers get busted for dropping gear/haul bags from the walls.
  4. My condolenses to her family and fiance. Shannon was a total sweet heart, funny and modest. I found this message from her, a classic: >Got my unofficial "A" last night. Did a power tower. 383 feet tall. Dark as hell and scary as fuck, uneven ground too. I nearly cried it was so scary but once I landed I couldn't stop laughing, so I went back up and did it again.< I've attached a photo of Shannon's 1st BASE Jump. She was very proud of that moment... Let me know if a high resolution image is desired- A gift to family and friends in honor of Shannon. JM
  5. congrats! I cant wait to see the vidz and stillz. Sorry I couldnt make it to help capture the chaos... Next Time!!! Josh Morell www.imagethisphoto.com
  6. I've been up and down the coast and have not seen any jumpable spans. I toured inland about 15 miles in an ultralight and didnt see anything. There used to be a Bungee Tower over the ocean up on a high bluff. It might be 250'??? Dont know if it is still there. There is a new Parasailing contraption that holds 2 people and has a large basket that would be easy to get out of. I asked how high they go on average, 300' with 2 passengers. The Diving is great, but not the best. B sure to check out the smaller tours going to Los Arcos. Have a blast, and drink 1 4 me!
  7. Photos- Tom in TF, Labor Day Weekend 2004. Sorry they arent better! I might have more images, but dont know what color Tom's gear was at the time... My condolences to family and friends!
  8. The tyroleans had no noticable change after we let them recover on the long ride home. Quote I havent rope jumped in years, good 2 C the images! My experience has always been from bridges... I was surprised to see the rope attached to a Tyrolean. Can you describe the anchor system? Was it cable or a rope tyrolean? If rope what diameter and kind (Static or Dynamic)? Please keep me posted on future endeavors. feel free to PM me, since this isnt BASE jumping. Josh Morell http://www.imagethisphoto.com
  9. As much as I would love to see a NPS ranger Maced and Taser'd, I had 2 add this 4 others- If a law enforcement officer is confronted with Pepper Spray / Mace / Tear Gas, they do have probable cause to shoot you. Most officers in training are required to experience the effects of Pepper Spray, so they know what to expect if hit. Same goes 4 the Taser~ Best Of Luck Jason, go get'em!
  10. PM sent- I have thousands of stock BASE jumping photos. I could make U a custom poster if desired~ check out my website for samples http://www.imagethisphoto.com Josh Morell 541-779-1967
  11. QuoteI've broken bones and not known until a day or more later. In an accident, the body automatically releases a lot of natural painkillers (including both adrenaline and endorphins), and muscles tense up to protect the injured bone. It's entirely possible for an accident victim to suffer a fracture of the spine (or femur) without realizing it. reply] Been there done that! Its amazing how adrenaline counteracts pain! On a skydive years back, I broke my ankle landing on uneven ground. I felt a sharp tingling sensation that felt very odd, yet had no problems walking off the LZ. After leaving the DZ, my ankle started throbbing, swelling up, and turning blue.~ Time for Narcotics ~ I'm in pain every day of my life, and get relief when my Adrenaline is pumping! Adrenaline has become my favorite drug for chronic pain relief... Josh Morell www.imagethisphoto.com
