  1. 7 hop and pops and 1 to 14.000 ft using Smart Alitmeter. Comparing it in the plane against a couple of Viso’s and my Analog alti. I found it supprisingly accurate. As did other jumpers. It stays on, so long as you don’t swipe or bump the side button. It turn off in the plane twice over 7 jumps, but is easy enough to turn on again and picks up the correct altitude. Once I’ve landed the next time I look at it, it’s turned off and back at home screen (watch face) I think that happens when I pick up my canopy, it’s a good thing otherwise it would drain the battery quicker. Battery 100% - Starting at 7am I had 4 jumps (3 hop & pops to 5000 / 1 to 14.000) before the low battery warning light went on around 6pm. To concerve battery, I did not play with the watch at all between jumps and only turn Alti on shortly before boarding plane setting it to ZERO. I am using it for canopy work, found out the reason why it’s best worn on the inside of wrist. 😀 Visual in color scene daylight and under canopy excellent. During freefall I have no idea. TROUBLE SHOOTING Once on go to Settings and Comectivity - Bluetooth must be off as also WiFi. We need approved Altimeters at our DZ’s. As I never intended to use it as my only Alti, I can say I’m happy with it and it does a good job.
  2. I love using new tech. So I went out and bought a Moto 360 sport. Here’s the outcome. Downloaded “WEAR OS” app on iphone and Android. IPHONE - I tried it on iphone first. Setup was easy. But couldn’t find app on watch. ANDRIOD - I used Dad’s Android. I had to do hard reset about 4 times cause it got stuck on “getting info from watch”. It worked when I started playing with the watch, I’d actuely given up at that point. Download the SMART ALTIMETER from google play onto the phone first or you won’t find it on the watch. WATCH - Moto 360 Sport Double click side button - pick play store and search for Smart Altimeter. Install. It’s now working. Yay! Next review - after jumping crossing fingers.

    Pilot

Underloaded at .09 I’d been seeking my first canopy. I’d flown - Sabre 2 / Sabre 1 / Skylark Magellan. Till I realised for me the most important aspect was the openings which at one piont I came close to a knockout on a Magellan. I loved the Sabre 1 front riser response and ease, hated weak flare and impact on opening - muscle pain the next days wasn’t doing me any good. Even with the bigger slider. Wasn’t so impressed with Sabre 2 Mmm. Is that it? The Pilot didn’t think it would excite me, but I was very surprised indeed. It felt clean not so rough on the edges, the most consistent softest openings I’d had. A huge difference to anything I’d flown. Toggle response so light and doing a sharp pull I was facing the ground, without feeling the pressure of g’s BONUS BONUS! Landing Flare was powerful - 2 stage flare excellent being able to glide her out longer than Sabre WHAT!?!?! PILOT I LOVE it...
  4. The Apple watch 3 has a Barometer and Barometric Altimeter now. Has anyone tried Yuri’s app on the lastest model? How did it hold up, accuracy, display in sunlight?

    Magellan

Only had 2 flights. Opening was fast and a little hard. The second jump was almost a knock out spanking. I was stable and flat both deployments. Other than the hard opening I was ready to buy it.
