Dude, if you still have the Pantz around and they are in some kind of airworthy condition, I´m willing to swap them for coordinates of handful of very secret and exclusive SD jumps around CH! Contact me for details! :D http://www.ufufreefly.com

I helped a friend to order her PF Shadow, the order form was sent to PF on 12th of May. The reply was that the lead times is around 6weeks. Today I got a msg from Edo that UPS is trying to get in touch with the customer to set the delivery and the suit has already been in country for 2 days. So that´s 4,5 weeks of delivery time during the prime season here in Europe. http://www.ufufreefly.com

Given that you´re actually no spring chicken anymore, one cannot but wonder to which one of the categories above are you putting yourself in? :D http://www.ufufreefly.com

What are you guys talking about? We all know that 7:1 has been done already 8 years ago! http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2501445#2501445 http://www.ufufreefly.com

Yeah... I mean seriously Jarno... The good doctor has been flying Vampires off the cliff way before you have so maybe just drop down the sucker punch act a bit and show some professionalism. We all know the guy flies those Squirrels nowadays, probably because a) the guy who makes them and most of his test pilots are his good friends and b) he probably likes the f*cking suits! But even though he is teamed up with the evil empire, the guy had a legit question. So maybe just suck it up and give a legit answer. Without the small print and mandatory punch to the groin. http://www.ufufreefly.com

I´ll try to give you scientific reference to your interest towards but holes. (Hahahaha...) No, seriously. I don't know how this translates to WS´s and Robi for sure is the person to comment on that but there is an interesting article written here http://www.hindawi.com/journals/isrn/2013/320563/ which has some quite detailed stuff about stability of a round parachute with different sized apex vent. There is a lot of science in that which I don´t understand but one of the conclusions say : Finally, the experiments show that the parachute begins oscillating when the Reynolds numbers exceed a certain critical value, which is different for different vent ratios. This would imply that every case has a stable and unstable region. As the vent ratio increases, the oscillations would occur at higher Reynolds numbers.. Like I said, I don´t know how well this relates into WS´s as the aerodynamics of a WS guess differs quite dramatically from the one of a round parachute. http://www.ufufreefly.com

Doesn´t look like the older venom had it either : http://www.basejumper.com/images/classifieds/assets/8/18638-largest_Vente_Venom.jpg Maybe couple of cardiovascular bypasses or some other hard core surgery would do the trick? Definitely more productive than arguing over some bullshit at dorkzone with other retards. :D http://www.ufufreefly.com

In the introduction video (around 3:08 on the vid) of the V5 and the Viper, Edo mentions that the hole "adds lateral stability of the suit". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkYXqCgJV_E Add here a totally made up fact on your preferred suit or totally irrational claim on the performance/safety/lead time of suit you are not flying for brand war purposes. http://www.ufufreefly.com

I also remember hearing that a certain finnish character who has some experience with jet engines as well was working on a design which used an air compressor to pressurize the wings before exit. Not sure if he ever test jumped it though. http://www.ufufreefly.com

I think you boys should go and fuck each other. While wearing those Squirrels and the doc could simultaneously pull out some foreign objects out from your anal cavities. Even I have to say, that is a very powerful image indeed. http://www.ufufreefly.com

1) What problem is it fixing? It is fixing the problem of our friends dying as they cannot find / pull their PC on a WS BASE jump. Personally, I see 0 use for this system in skydiving but it is an interesting idea for WS BASE. I do agree, however, with the doctor that the suit design has gone a long way to fix this issue, what I have heard is that in the modern suits finding the PC from the BOC is very easy. Personally I would be quite reserved in using such system even in BASE environment as I agree that it adds significant complexity to the deployment system. Still, I think it is a cool idea to play with and I do think that such ideas drive innovation of the suits towards safety. We have lost too many friends on pull related issues in BASE and I know quite an amount of others who have had close calls or otherwise unpleasant time in the air whilst searching for the PC (myself included). Do I think this will ever be implemented in a commercially available mass product suit? No. Do I think it is a cool idea to try out and "think outside of the box"? Absolutely. http://www.ufufreefly.com

Although the Cruise might be an awesome suit (never flown it), the keyword (again) here is "right hands". A certain russian opened from the same cliff high above the landing area with a prodigy1 years ago and people who really suck in a big suit cannot make it there today. So you could rightfully say as well that the Prodigy in right hands outperforms some of the modern ws designs. :) Hats off to the frenchies though, that is some very impressive tracking regardless of the suit used! http://www.ufufreefly.com

As long as you are talking about skydiving I would even go as far as saying that getting a tracking suit is waste of money as there are perfectly good beginner WS´s around and doing tracking / angle dives in tracking suit just doesn´t work (as no one else is flying tracking suits on those anyway). If you wish to venture in some point in your career to BASE, I would say the story is completely different. Although the transition from WS skydiving directly to WS base jumping has been made successfully (and is being done even more and more), personally I do consider base tracking skills (in a modern tracking suit) an essential tool to have in any BASE jumpers arsenal. And doing a season or two in tracking suit will prepare you very well for your WS base career if that´s a direction you want to go. http://www.ufufreefly.com

You can do as everyone has suggested or then of course there is this : http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4482864#4482864 http://www.ufufreefly.com

Btw those white papers are still there in the "Articles" section. http://www.phoenix-fly.com/media/articles. The one you are referring to is the "Wingsuit flying and Basic Aerodynamics 1" where he writes "For the average person, the wingsuit wing area is 15 – 16 sqft, and the weight is 170 – 190 lbs. This gives us a wing loading of 10,5 – 12,5 lbs/sqft, ten times higher than a square canopy." http://www.ufufreefly.com

I read through this thread and then I LOL´d. Seriously. I think you guys should go out and just fly. Without any sensors, barometric or GPS. Just fly and enjoy how it feels. http://www.ufufreefly.com

One interesting thing as well on the integrated suits is that at least the Core weighs a ton whics frommy point of view is kind of interesting design as it is purely made for high mountain base... A friend jumps a core with a 225 UL Filk in it and there is a noticeable difference in the weight of our stashbags (I jump a V4 with 265 Trango in an HybrdinLD+). The weight of course is not so much of a factor in skydiving but as this is purely a base only suit, I think one of the core advantages of the integrated design should be the potential for weight reduction. http://www.ufufreefly.com

James, Given that you are a factory pilot and most likely have been jumping boths suits quite a lot, care to elaborate on exactly what kind of "slight" performance increase there is on putting the harness inside the suit? Does it increase your GR? Give you more forward speed? If yes, how much? Have you noticed this based on gps tracks (all other variables equal) or just based on gut feeling? http://www.ufufreefly.com

This is correct that the new suit is definitely an advanced tracking gear. Think it from the comparison to the wingsuits, as we are not recommending a V4 as a first suit, likewise we are not recommending the new tracking suit as a first suit. However, PF will continue to produce the "basic" model of the tracking suit (with couple of improvements as well) making it a perfect beginner suit. So PF will have the full lineup covering all needs of both beginning trackers and advanced flyers. Personally having flown both, I´m very happy about the "basic" version as well. There is a lot of performance available in the suit when flown correctly but having less fabric it is more forgiving than the big suit. http://www.ufufreefly.com

Have you checked from Olek? He is a PFC and lives in Poland. http://www.ufufreefly.com

I´m taking a wild guess here that you are not a base jumper your self... You would actually be surprised if you would know just how many people there are out there doing some incredible things with wingsuits and never ever promoting it to anyone, not wuffos and not even fellow jumper. Because their motivation to do it is to do it for themselves. And to no-one else. Take the famous canyon in central europe for an example. This may come to you as a surprise but Jeb was not the first one to fly through it and it actually is considered (among the experienced and skilled jumpers) as not really a difficult flight. I´m guessing that several tens of people had done the line before Jeb but he for sure was the first to expose it to the wuffos. Actually some of the people I consider as to be among the best pilots in the world no longer even fly that line regularly as there are far more interesting lines on the same mountain to fly. Jeb is an average wingsuit pilot but a master of self promoting and sales. And for that he has to be given credit for. He has taken feats that are considered quite "average" in the experienced jumper community and sold them to the general public in a way that makes him look like a superhero (and most likely made him quite a nice pile of cash in the side as well). Gary then again made a feat that is considered to be quite far "out there" and he did it quietly, on his on, just to show that it can be done. And for that he deserves my deepest respect. http://www.ufufreefly.com

I think yelling is a clear sign that your are running out reasons... Are you willing to jump into a well, because someone says so? Are you willing to crash into terrain, because you can not see your friend? Call me a chicken, but I wot do either of those. Guys, let´s agree on couple of topics. 1) None of use here knows what the plan of Ludo and Robert was on that particular jump. Could be that it was not planned, could be that it was. I´m guessing that the boys had solid plan and they felt that this particular flying was well withing their comfort zone and within acceptable risk as the whole flight it self. Could be that this would not be the case for majority of us. 2) None of us also knows why Gabor has gigantic bucket full of sand in his vagina and has to bash every single post in this forum. Maybe he someway gets off on that, nobody really knows. Under those 2 facts I would suggest to leave this topic as it is totally pointless to argue further. I would suggest to look the original vid couple of more times and admire the beauty of the flying it self. If what happens around 1:15 mark of the vid somehow makes you feel uncomfortable, please stop watching around 1:10. http://www.ufufreefly.com
