  1. I would like to get some feedback on the Flare characteristics of the Aerodyne LPV Pilot 9 cell canopy. I have heard that the Low Pack Volume canopy might be lacking in the Flare power? If anyone has experience, I would love your feedback/opinion. I would have a wing loading of right around 1 or slightly less.
  2. Chuck, I do apologize for the delay, I am located in Phoenix and I am currently working/jumping with one of the instructors at SDAZ. Will probably be doing about 10-12 coach jumps as well as 10-15 min of tunnel time there. After some discussion with my instructor, I am leaning more towards a Pilot or a Safire 3, but nothing has been ordered until I get more jumps. Thank you for your input!
  3. Thank you all for your input regarding my question and yes, I will be taking a canopy piloting course here in the near future. Since this post, I have also been looking at the Aerodyne Pilot 230, any thoughts? Greg
  4. I am going to be getting back into the sport after a 10 year hiatus. I have 65 jumps and am planning to do 10 coach jumps to dust the cobwebs off:-} When it comes to new gear, I was considering a Sabre 3 230 as my main canopy, is this too much for someone with my skill level. My wing loading would be right around 0.96 on a Sabre3 230. In all honesty, I do need to work on my flare timing but curious to see if you all think the Sabre 3 is too much. Thank you all in advance for taking the time to answer my question.
  5. I agree with baronn, Skydive AZ has plenty of camping spot's. I did a tandem there last March and took my 40 foot 5th wheel down on Friday night, hooked her up, jumped that Saturday afternoon and head out Saturday Evening. Again, if you want to keep it there, I am sure you could. Just give manifest a call and see what they have to offer.
  6. I would like some feedback on anyone who has or is jumping the IPT Axon 210 or 230. Are you happy with your purchase, how it opens, and how are the flares? Any information that you have is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Greg
  7. Hey Rob, Are you committed to going to Z-Hills? If not, have you given any thought about Skydive Arizona in Eloy? I know that they routinely have a Hot Air Balloon in the Winter/Spring months. Just an option if you are not committed to Florida. Cheers, Greg
  8. Thanks for the video link, probably won't be purchasing a Racer!!
  9. Is Jump Shack still in business and producing Racer containers? In the mid 90's I had a Racer(NOS) and back in Indiana, a lot of the jumpers used the Racer containers. Fast Forward, I have been out of the sport for many years and am getting ready to start again. I will be jumping at Skydive AZ but I have noticed all other manufactures are represented but I have not seen any Racer containers being used. Any reason why? Thank you in advance for any information you might have on this subject. Greg
  10. I was skydiving back in the early 90's and stopped skydiving in 97. Logged 58 jumps. Started off with Static Line, but then transitioned to AFF, which really helped. I seemed to always be nervous. I agree with another's post, Fear is a good thing, if you don't have some fear, you become complacent, and to me, that is dangerous. Now that we have the internet and youtube, you can learn a lot from there. When I was jumping, we didn't have that available, let alone Forums like this. Here is a quote that I remember being in a book I bought when I was skydiving: It's all right to have butterflies in your stomach. Just train them to fly in formation. Blue Skies and never stop learning!!
