Calvin, I just finished watching your flick --- great shit man!! I was impressed with the rigging, compostion, and editing. Of course, as always, Russel is the man. Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  2. Time for the old TUG talk with a problematic jumper... I am sorry to inform you but we all highly recommend another sport for you, something with less risk that does not require quick, clear thinking, perhaps golf. Take Up Golf Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  3. Really glad you are okay and are not paralyzed. Heal strong and do lots of rehab to build those muscles up to prevent future injuries from hard openings. Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  4. Very cool patch, thanks for the post. Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  5. I am with you Mark, when I fly camera I don't need to hang on to get the shot, in fact I'd rather hang onto the plane and get the "OH" face with the plane flying away in the backgroud. As a TM I would not let anyone hold onto me during exit! On the other hand, and only for arguements sake, I could safely leave a plane holding onto a tandem pair. Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  6. Nee How Si Hing You want learn new move? Si Gien, Sun Wu Kong
  7. Tom A. -- Yeah it might be old to you, but for people who do NOT watch TV and are new to BASE it was definitely a valuable post. Dave, I agree with you, awesome footage, plus it helped me kill 45 minutes at work Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  8. Bones always heal better than joints...Once the foot has healed and the swelling is down you will definitely want to do some rehab: Start with rolling the ankle in circles to loosen it and re-build muscle, eventually some swimming would help. Hope you heal well. Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM

Honor Among Thieves... BASE jumpers, some Skydivers, my hipster friends, and all of my family are in "My Crew", which means I didn't see anything, I didn't hear anything, and I sure as hell aint gonna testify. I am probably more scared of BASE jumping than any three guys you know and want to have better safety but lets stick together a while longer before we start sifting through the details. Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  10. Where in NC? When is this going to happen? Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  11. Regarding the effort required updating the list and keeping the section that displays people who died outside the sport... I have a simple 5 page idea that would make upkeep and load times faster. Have an initial home page that explains what the site is, media disclaimer, who maintains it, and links to 3 pages: 104 Fallen (bounces), Strange Deaths (suicides, stunts), and Good Deaths (heart attack during sex w/ 21 year old model). Plus having each page initially load with the number and name and then by clicking that entry it could expland with the explanation, warm rememberances, and their photo could make load time faster and band width usage lower. Lastly, if we really wanted to make Nick's life easier we could get this thing fed from a database so updates would be easy with the added bonus of generating descriptive and inferential statistics on command. Example: range of age, mode of cause, average height of object. I like that people offering Nick some bucks to help. I'd gladly produce the design and host or chip in to get Nick his own domain. Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  12. Hey Tony, Sorry to hear you got banged up but glad it wasn't more serious. I imagine you will be laid up for a while recovering. You need anything? Jump flicks, porn, etc.?
  13. Mike, I am very sorry you lost your best friend. Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  14. Terrible news, very sorry to hear!! Don't need to know the details right now but some info about the person would be nice since many of us have friends there. To our fallen: Blue Skies, Fly Free. To his or her home team: Sincere Condolences. Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  15. Dave, did you get blood on your gear? Sure hope it is someone else's... Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  16. Florida and California have the most dropzones and hot chicks --- need I say more Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  17. ...a Bounce game. Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  18. I am sometimes shocked when normal sized people have trouble lifting their legs or squatting to practice an exit. Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  19. Hey Nick, Regarding your reference to CRW dogs and stalling --- is this referring to the practice of intentially stalling your canopy up high to learn where that point is? If so, I suggest that to all jumpers when trying a new wing. Of course I always instruct them the proper way to recover from, at least in the sky, is to slowly raise your arms. First time I intenitally stalled a PD210 and raised my arms too quickly it was kind of ugly. Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  20. Hello JT Holmes, I knwow you were addressing Tom A. and not me but here is my two cents on the subject...I have packed 19 reserve pack jobs WITHOUT clamps and packed about the same amount of BASE pack jobs WITH clamps (7 from the Perrine, 4 from planes, and the rest were for practice). I can do it either way but the clamps do make it easier. Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM

Sounded like the pencil pusher saying no wasn't a jerk, he even seemed a little envious Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  23. Disclaimer: I only have 100 tandems. I am tall and usually don't worry about the attire of shorter passengers. However, I would NOT allow a passenger who is close to my height or taller to wear a suit that could outfly mine, especially given my limited experience doing tandems. Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  24. That right there is part of the reason why my wife and I do not have cable and don't watch television...Cause everytime I heard an SUV advertisement say that "this vehicle brings down barriers" I wanted to throw a brick through the TV. Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM
  25. My DZ does have a scale and when necessary we use it. If they weigh over 220 then it is a dollar per pound with the fee being split equally between the DZ and the TM. The DZ cut covers extra wear & tear on the gear. The TM cut overs extra wear & tear on me
