  1. Meatwad get the honeys G Drivin in my car, livin like a star Ice on my fingers and my toes and I'm a Taurus Schooly D...I still love him.
  2. Happy birdday, Mark! Report to the bar tomorrow evening for your bday gift! xx L&O&J&S
  3. Marcel must die. Sam should have won but I think Cliff & Elia were pretty strong as well. Inexperience showed, but those 3 had the best palates. I can't believe I watch a reality show.
  4. I've spent nearly every weekend at Zhills since '99. My routine is predictable: get coffee, get the finger from Johnny, say hi to everyone, make some jumps, walk in hearing him shout "muff muff muff" while he was coming in on final. I was making a 4-way training jump, getting out after Johnny's 8-way on his last skydive. I had my eyes closed, visualizing and then I heard "Blue Skies! Black Crotchless Underwear!" so you know O D A F totally went down the can. I'm going to miss Johnny more than I can say.
  5. Dear Vicky, I guess I got the "kinder, gentler" Cliff more often compared to most. Although there were many times I told him I was going to throttle him in his sleep while he lived with me & Oren, he'd smile broadly and squeeze a body part until he left bruises. We only made perhaps a handful of jumps together so my memories of Cliff center around lounging on the sofa, drinking *thick* cups of coffee. I've never been more fully caffeinated as the 2 months he lived with us. There's a huge coffee stain on the guest bedroom carpet that he confessed to about 6 weeks after he made it. He told me I could put a potted plant over ther stain. Right in front of the closet door. We had loooong discussions about law school rankings, application essays, patent law vs what I thought he should focus on, M&A and corp fin. I pushed the whole Sand Hill Drive / Wilson Sonsini angle and how after practicing for 5 to 7 years, he could go become a tech VC and blow everyone out of the water. He certainly spoke with enough authority, even when he was pulling it out of his ass! I have some of his PT cruiser recall notices that we still get at the house. I can't tell you how many times I told him not to buy that thing! And then the monster truck! Oy! We didn't see each other often or talk on the phone, but his emails were always a riot and brought a smile to my face without fail. I am grateful Cliff walked through my life. Love, Laura
  6. Billy Richards flew the plane, Sally Hathaway got pushed out.
  7. You know air traffic control is doing it on purpose. Sack that girl up & have her at the dz bright & early! Great meeting you too, Peter. See you in the am!
  8. Local news said 55 of E-R's 70 planes were damaged. The footage showed planes overturned, crumpled up like so many aluminum cans...
  9. Clearly, you haven't lived with one! We're just as nuts as any other ethnicity - we just love you long time while we're slowly driving you crazy.

    grrr...

Maybe it's because you're so charming at 5am??? What's up Kelly?! Can't wait to see you at Zhills this xmas. xx the usual bomb squad suspects
  11. That's exactly what I'm talking about! Look at that canopy against the sky...it's vibrant. I think it's a great pattern to use for tandem canopies as well since so many photographs are taken of deployment, flight & landing. Also makes cutaways so much easier to find. Now as far as containers go, however, I'd avoid neon as fading appears much more pronounced . Just my observation from opening reserve flaps, etc.
  12. The Wings freebag is neon yellow, a deliberate decision made by Henri. The Aerodyne "c" canopy pattern is neon yellow & orange. Sounds horrendous but it looks fantastic in the air. Really "pops" in pictures and everyone and their mother can see you coming.

    NY Bagels

Ha, that reminds me... bring bagels home, honey. And it's cold enough to bring the good cream cheese too!
  14. Her name is Ellen Jamett & she has saved a number of skydivers that have had accidents at Zhills. Ellen & Jim V (her husband) hung up their rigs a couple of years ago & have taken up sailing. We really miss having them around the dz...
  15. Make it a next-to-smallest size container Wings makes & a PD 106 loaded at 1.4. I'll happily buy the biggest PD reserve I can get in the freebag. When the new canopies are released, I'd like to try to get a 126 to look good in my W-2, but if that doesn't work, I'll get a 113.

  17. I'm not a big fan of shrill talking heads in general, but there's something about Nancy Grace's "advocacy journalism" that gives me the creeps. I know she was a fairly good prosecutor in her day, but building a show around prosecuting outside of the court system strikes me as inherently wrong. The Trenton Duckett case is big news here in central Florida: missing 2 year old boy, 20 year old mother, mother goes on Nancy Grace & gets grilled, shoots herself in the head the next day. Grace responds the next day by saying that guilt drove the mother to kill herself. Mother's family is now suing Grace & CNN. I don't know about these "justice" shows. Are they just creating & marketing mob mentality?
  18. Before SV Orlando upgraded the fans, I was flying with a friend when one of the fans shut down. We were well above the doors & both lost air instantly. Bounced onto the grate & she rebounded & landed on my back. It sucked, although the grid-shaped bruise on my front kinda looked cool.
  19. Frying two 18 pounders, one with a balsamic vinegar injection, the other cajun. 10 lb ham on order too. Both cornbread and sourdough dressings, mash, succotash, yams, my cranberry & orange relish, trailer park broccoli casserole. 22 people this year instead of our usual 35+ brawl. Downsizing, doncha know! We learned last year that you should probably wear shoes when dropping a bird into hot peanut oil.
  20. Just a quickie update: the pond was being filled up today from the new 150' deep well. I can't say for sure if the shrubs that were growing in the ditch got whacked or not, but that should make for some interesting toe dragging! And the Kluegs are back!
  21. Happy Birthdayday Evil Tequilaman!!
  22. I wholly disagree with your interpretation. If I had just dropped the amount of money, time and devotion on training that the winning teams did, you better fucking believe that I would want my team to be recognized in front of our peers. It's ALSO a matter of feeling good about the team's accomplishment - not some public mastubatory exercise.
  23. Thanks, everyone, for your thoughts. Voter apathy & disgust with "politics as usual" is an across the board problem. I honestly wish our nation's citizens would take a more active interest in what's going on in their own communities, if not nationally or even globally. Gives me agita.
  24. Ooooh.... can we get a referendum for THAT on a ballot??? I'll wear my pointy-toed shoes. Bring your boots.
