Here are some pictures of my little children
  3. I have a feeling this guy will be like that...he only listens to people in order to break them down... Of course it probably didn't help that I was in my Navy uniform
  4. I think that every english teacher that I have had so far has sucked! One asked me every week if anyone had gotten hurt the previous weekend. So today I went in to my World Literature II class and my teacher tells us that we have to be open-minded and ready to hear opinions other than our own...then he tells us that we will be ejected from the class if persist in stating unpopular opinions (popular being what he believes in...liberal). He didn't waste much time, within the first five minutes he told us that Bush, Jr has "wacky" ideas. I ask him what he means and he goes on about ruthless this and that and when I attempt to interject he tells me that we must move on...this is going to be a long semester must not speak..must not speak
  5. It all depends on what you want to do with them.If you need one for school...what do you need it for? I go to school in auburn and have had to take Visual Basic and Java...is Visual Basic available on a mac? The difference between a mac and a pc...when your pc is to slow you can add memory or install new video cards, etc...when your mac is too slow, you just throw it away and get a new one...simple www.wiredvideo.com/public/video/apple_gamer.wmv
  6. I was just wondering what (non-skydiving) newsgroups people here read. I am interested in both headline news and more specific groups that could have no other purpose than entertainment.
  7. I have finals this week...none today...two tomorrow and thursday
  8. Just checking...my tag is SKYdiver
  9. Not really much different than any other canopy. I have 350 jumps on Cobalts and psycho packed every time. Steer the canopy through the opening and you will be fine.
  10. "Where you going? Nowhere...Where is he going?...Nowhere!"
  11. You will probably get a kick out of this http://www.ebaumsworld.com/jacket.html
  12. I'll second that...I also liked Memento...unique concept
  13. I moved around a lot...my parents are in the Air Force and I am in the Navy -Mountain home , ID -Fort Walton Beach, FL -OFallen, IL -Semback AFB, Germany -Seoul, Korea -RAF Woodbridge, England -Stuttgart, Germany -Orlando, FL -Charleston, SC -Auburn, AL
  14. There are none anymore Not true...you have to try really hard to fail. If you walk upright and can turn a valve you can pass, if you fail it is because you have no drive to suceed. This is true with any job. Who says you have to work on a reactor... I know a guy who went to work for Sam Adams when he got out. Once again it is a question of how much effort a person is willing to put out in finding a job.
  15. Definantly not from here...but yes I am and will be an indentured servent here for the next two years. I go to school at Auburn.
  16. AGGGGGGHHHH my h usband is going to puerto rico in January....what goes on there! People spend most of their time touring museums and sharing important social traditions with the locals
  17. Actually the reason that being a nuke is a good deal is that you do not have to be around the slugs that seem to inhabit most of the other ships in the navy. Carrier life is not all it is cracked up to be. Imagine this, you have been working for six hours on a generator and you go to get lunch in the galley. Then some paperpusher yeomen(secretary type) cheif tell you that you need to put on a clean uniform before you can eat. The surface fleet is more interested in tradition and military bearing than getting the job done. People on submarines are smart enough to know the difference between maintaining order and being an asshole. I did the marine thing for a week, all I will say is that I respect the marines for what they do, and you would never catch me doing it. Tent?...no I'll take the rack any day.
  18. Damn does that bring back horrible memories. Mispent days of my youth at the NCO club.... Lonely wives+Alcohol=BAD situation... Most of the guys that I was with actually prefered to be away from thier wives...puerto rico anyone? They would probably be happy to let you keep the women if you wanted them
  19. Not really at one time...if you go on a fast attack submarine you will go on one 6 month deployment every three years...and if you go on ballistic missile submarines you will only go out for about 70 days...sounds like a lot, but it goes quickly and boomers have two crews meaning that once the other crew has the boat you go onto a slack training schedule...four days per week 6-8 hours per day and you get paid a lot more than any other job in the Navy
  20. a 227...I thought that I was a little worse than that
  21. I was in the Navy...a nuclear electrician, or so they tell me They said that they would give me a five year paid vacation, so here I am! (It is supposed to be four years, but I know a good deal when I see it, I think that I will take it easy and take another...see your taxes do something worthwhile after all!) (Edit: Cuz i don't spell so good)
  22. I would definantly leave the lowest setting at at least 2k... and I am speaking from experience. When I had about 130 jumps I was doing a four way headdown jump with one very experienced person and two less than experienced people. When I saw the experienced guy breakoff I thought that we were at 4.5k and I decided to try my hand at back tracking for the first time...all was going well until I heard my 1.5k alarm...oops! I immediatly turned and dumped and was rewarded with my main canopy deploying and a few seconds later with my reserve popping out...they cypres worked! If you have your alarm at 2k and you do something you will safely deploy your main and land. If you set it at 1.5k you will have a cypres fire if you do not deploy immediatly. Under a canopy of any sort (other than a total mal) you have time to figure out what is going on and when to cutaway...I would not use your audible to determine that. (all of this is totally my opinion only, but comments are welcome) I will try to upload a video to my site
  23. I decided to remix the video that I had into a short movie...not much different from the last one. www.auburn.edu/~huntmic
  24. unidetified...is that like a monotheistic number? Hey, Peter Pan was a stud!
