Problem with atmonauti article in parachutist
freakydiver replied to sundevil777's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You know what I always say, the attitude of the skydivie doesn't determine the attitude of the skydive... -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." -- -

No offense but driving direction generators aren't always the best routes to go in the world. If you type in get directions from Crested Butte, CO to Aspen, CO, mapquest drives you over a pretty difficult four wheel trail LOL: http://www.mhjcontherocks.com/Community/Trips/1141.aspx I prefer to talk to the people who have actually made the trip rather than a computer... -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

Would you pay to watch a Swoop Competition?

Couldn't agree more. Also - if you can't cleanly pack a pilot chute or hell, even a canopy, without the assistance of external support devices, perhaps you shouldn't be hucking yourself off of objects where packing is arguably half the battle... -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

Have kids so your time available for DZ visits is reduced by 90 percent. Then you will appreciate what you have now. Or, find something new in life. Change is good. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

Plus the more shit given to sticker boy, the less chance it will happen in the future. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

More experienced jumpers I know are MORE than willing to talk with and work with less experienced jumpers as long as the less experienced jumpers come into the situation with no attitude and expectations of how they want to progress... -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

Just lookin out for a fellow brother. Alot of younger jumpers in the sport that I've coached really suck at gauging alti with their eyes is all - at least that's what I've noticed. Not saying you do or are. i dig the increment lol. (dytter < eyes) is my only point
-
Forget about the dytter and start getting used to what altitudes "look" like. A dytter can crap out. An altimeter can crap out. Your eyes, if they were to crap out on a jump, you've got bigger problems to fry. Its all about the eyes. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

"Do all the aerials you want, just make sure that you have not used all your mental capacity on the aerial. If you are mentally drained by the time the aerial is done then what is left when you are faced with line twists and a 180? Your brain is done and so are you!" Oh so true - another quote from an old friend/mentor: "Just because you have become a competent base jumper doesn't automatically make you a competent gymnast." (on the subject of aerials). -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --

I fully agree. Don't bash on the guy - or step up and do it if you think anyone could do it. To each their own. Hell one could could say, anyone could base no? -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." -- -
