  4. Truth is, (truth induced by smirnoff, don't ask tomorrow) I'm not as good a canopy pilot as I ought to be. I don't think my truth is that uncommon......maybe I had outstanding mentors when I started skydiving, but with some years off, I've found that I'm not as good as I thought I was.... 6. Psycho, That's not how I interpreted his response. I thought he meant he would have a choice of landing areas because he can pilot his canopy...and that learning to pilot your canopy could save your life.... Good Advice!! 7. Yes, but how will we really know if someone really qualifys for FOF??? Gives a new meaning to the name "Video Jumper"...lol Take chances, just do it with all the information to make good decisions!! Muff Brother# 2706 Dudeist Skydiver# 121.5
  8. I got a very good deal on a relatively new Jav container that is too big for me. I got a quote from Sunpath for resizing the main lift web, but I have a question. Is this something a rigger can do instead of sending back to Sunpath? What is the value of either doing the work? Thanks Ryder Take chances, just do it with all the information to make good decisions!! Muff Brother# 2706 Dudeist Skydiver# 121.5
  9. I just came back into the sport after 9 years off. I've been jumping a bunch. and been having a blast.. Last night I read something about POPS and realized I'm getting older. 11. ..................................................................... This is the most likely explaination I can think of. Remember there are student pilots in the same vicinity as out student parachutist. Scary huh?? Also remember something else, Be prepared to explain whatever is necessary to the airport board when this pilot complains about "the stupid skydivers being in the way" There are a few people out there that hate having skydivers on an airport and will use any incident to run them off. I'm not being paranoid, It's happened before. Take chances, just do it with all the information to make good decisions!! Muff Brother# 2706 Dudeist Skydiver# 121.5
  12. In exotic locations? In the US, you've got 182, 185, 206, maybe a Twin-bo, Beech-18 (turbine conversion for sure, maybe a radial), DC-3, PAC 750, Porter, Caravan, King Air, Twin Otter, Skyvan, and a Casa. I'm sure I missed at least one or two, but that's a fairly complete list. I used to jump the Porter at Skydive Texas, (no longer open) and WTS (Mike Mullens place near Memphis) used to have a 195 taildrager. My favorite was the Pitts jumps at WFFC are those available anywhere? Take chances, just do it with all the information to make good decisions!! Muff Brother# 2706 Dudeist Skydiver# 121.5

  16. CS, Sorry I couldn't make it this weekend, but I think we're planning on shutting down Texas Freefall on Labor day to come to the boogie. One question though, I'm one of the "Old Belly Fliers", Ya'll have a lot of free flyers...will there be people there for me to jump with? Look forward to meeting you in person. You sure have built up San Marcos, I can't wait to jump there. Ryder Take chances, just do it with all the information to make good decisions!! Muff Brother# 2706 Dudeist Skydiver# 121.5
  17. I love my Oxygen full face helmet. I just put in a new lens. I don't have any experiences of my own to share, "There I was about to DIE!!"..lol... But I started wearing one after one of my skydiving mentors got kicked in the face by a student about 10 years ago. She came close to a Cypres fire. She wasn't knocked out, but took a bit to regain her composure. She called it "loopy". *I also like the warmth, *the noise reduction *the place for my pro-dytter, (I love having an audible as a backup). *I can close the shield after the door opens and not be fogged up. * I can wear my expensive $10 sunglasses without them coming off. I have ridden Harley's for years and had 2 different friends die from VERY minor incidents that would have been fine in a helmet. I spent years riding broncs without one, but now many of my friends on bulls and broncs are putting them on. NONE of these things are scientific, but all make me feel better...and there is a lot to be said for that. Ryder Take chances, just do it with all the information to make good decisions!! 19. Anyone that comes in and flames a solid member of the community should expect a certain amount of flaming in return. Most have experience with Bonnie and few have experience with him. Who cares if she accepts Western Union. The perception was explained to him. We get to choose who we want to sell to in this country. It's not fair to soil her 20+ year reputation by one person's unsubstanciated complaint. Regardless of his relationship with you, he came in on the offence. He hammered Bonnie. He had the situation explained to him and rather than accept it, he chose to continue on the offence. He was told in no uncertain terms that he had attacked the wrong person. He's gotten what he deserves. Take chances, just do it with all the information to make good decisions!! Muff Brother# 2706 Dudeist Skydiver# 121.5

  23. Congrats on living through your first reserve ride. What Happened? Many people make it a thousand jumps without a reserve ride. My first was on jump 20. (lineover) On the bright side, now you know you can handle it. Ryder Take chances, just do it with all the information to make good decisions!! Muff Brother# 2706 Dudeist Skydiver# 121.5
  24. In 10 years on this forum, I've never flamed anyone. This being said, you are obviously an Idiot!!!! I've been dealing with Bonnie for over 10 years and she is wonderful!!! I'm sure she's had to make decisions that everyone hasn't liked, but that's just part of being a small business person. I suspect that you're one of those people that would complain no matter how the transaction was handled. I hate that Bonnie is being drug threw the mud, but thoses of us that have been around know that she's always worth a call.
