  1. Yeah, It's a shame. Back in the day this thread would have 25 pages and there would have been 5 other threads going about different topics. Social media has changed everything. But we still have an awesome event and great people who attend.
  2. We will have a balloon and chopper at Fitz March 17-20 FitzBoogie.com
  3. Let me just tell you all that this is a horrible disease. I don't feel like going into detail right now but I'll go find something I wrote before and post it here later. The symptoms are broad and can be completely debilitating. I believe I contracted it back in the mid 2000s. It took me until mid 2015 to convince myself to get tested and seek treatment. My test was negative, not uncommon, but I was given a first round of doxycycline in October of 2015. My condition has improved somewhat and many of my symptoms have subsided. I don't believe I am totally cured yet. The maps are worthless. Because the tests used to test for Lyme are so worthless, they truly have no idea how many people have it or how wide spread it actually is. Our healthcare system treats symptoms. When the doctors come up against something like Lyme they will make no effort to actually find out what you have. They will load you up with drugs and send you on your way. If you are bitten by a tick I encourage you to keep the tick in something. Keep an eye on the bite site for any irritation and specifically a rash that looks like a bulls eye. You will not always get this. Pay attention to how you feel the first week or two after a bite. If you start feeling achy or flu like, go to the doctor. If Lyme is caught within the first week or so it is easy to cure. One last thing. It is most commonly spread by dear ticks. These are the really small ones. Sometimes smaller that a dot from an ink pen. They usually need to be on you a day or so in order to infect you. Usually, by the time you have found them thay have been on you that long.

  11. Because leading up to the increases most dropzones were way behind needed increases because no one wanted to be the first to raise their rates. I talked to several DZOs who held on till the last minute before beginning to raise the ticket prices. If I remember correctly a $0.50 increase in the cost of fuel should equal $1 increase on the lift ticket. As I remember, most of the DZs held on till the fuel had increased $1.50 Keep in mind, as someone above pointed out, it's not just the fuel that sets the prices. Over a 10 year period, everything costs more to operate. So it can't be expected that the prices jump back to the 2006 price because fuel has taken a short term (in my opinion) drop.

  17. Come to the St.Patrick's Boogie in March in Fitzgerald,Ga. We always have instructors there and Hans brings student gear from Skydive the Farm. We'll get you in the air, get you to your first boogie and you'll get to meet people from all over. There might even be people from your area coming. We typically have people there from half the states and a couple countries. A trip to the tunnel isn't a bad idea either. Where do you live BTW?

  19. We are seeking a company or companies that in exchange for the advertising space on the tent would be interested in replacing the canopy of our old worn out tent. The tent will be used at a minimum of two events in Fitzgerald per year with the possibility of others, and it can also be used at other event throughout Georgia. I'm including a catalog pdf. from the company that makes the tent. http://www.kdkanopy.com/catalog/KDKanopy_Catalog.pdf The tent that we currently have is the StarShade 400 on page 8. We could convert to a StarShade 800 or Starstage models which would give the benefit on increased graphic space. The replacement cost of the Starshade 400 model is approx. $1800 plus the cost of the graphics. I can be reached here if you or anyone you know is interested. Thanks, Chris Spence
  20. Take her to the DZ and let someone else have a turn while you are jumping. That will get her out of your hair.
