  1. The one and only time I landed off was my own fault. After a nice training jump with my very cute JM, this was about my level 7, I pulled low and immediately realized I was not going to make it back. As per my training, I found a spot and stuck to it. The midwest is a wonderful place. I still had a one way radio and heard one of the JMs say "come back fast J". I knew someone saw me and knew I was o.k. While this situation differs from yours (I knew they knew I was o.k), no one came for me. After the first row of corn, I was a little less pissed. Why? Because I had a nice long walk back to the dz to think about what had just happened, how I reacted to it, and other possible outcomes. I wish you would have taken that time to reflect, be grateful, and learn. While being pissed off, one rarely learns anything. Be good and learn
  2. Fortunatly I have a SO who supports me whole heartedly and has even given me money for jumps. The support I get for skydiving, however, is in every aspect of our lives together, is short he supports me in everything and vise versa. I think, in my situation, the fact that he is 17 years older than me really puts a balance between us. And of course, I support him and his activities with just a much grace. Been there done that with the situations of "you can't do that or wouldn't if you love me". That was with my 1st husband and I divorced his ass real quick, and I hadn't even made jump 1 yet. It pertains to everything in life.
  3. There is no roaming with Nextel, you have service or you don't. I have an old phone the 550, will have had it for 3 years this November and never have had to change the battery. My plan is 1000 minutes a month, free incoming, free long distance, unlimited walkie talkie, and unlimited-limited online service, can check weather and such but can't get on MSN all for a low 63.00 a month. When talking to my friends, it seems I have the best phone out there, compared to other plans and phone, serivces, price, ect.

Wouldn't you....to have someone explain to another how to sue you one your own web site is a bit much to take. Of course why they had to explain to sue someone is a bit much to take as well. Lesson to be learned, always pay with a credit card.
  6. The incident was pretty simple, and myself and the other jumper discussed it in length, along with other instructors, and I have learned from it, to be sure. I almost droped when the other jumper asked to go back up in the air with me!!!!!!!! Gotta love the skydivers
  7. On my last jump, the situation could have turned very ugly with an error on my part with the track. Everything turned out o.k., but without going into detail about the incident, I got to thinking about injury and death. I can handle it if I hurt or even kill myself due to something I did in a skydive, but, I don't think I could live with it if I hurt/killed someone else. I know the risks we all take as jumpers, and that is fine for myself....but what about the others??????????? Any comments?????

    Skydiver?

I was born a brunette, now I am a blond, can I call myself a blond? sure, you can call youself whatever you want, but know this, If you aren't what you say you are, at sometime in your life, you will be embarresed. Call youself a skydiver, you are!!
  11. Skykitten, Skykitten, Skykitten, there is no free ride here, everything is down the middle, however, I think it is just as important to support your SO, he wants to get his business off the ground, and I want to support him in that. If he makes it great, if he doesn't, then at least we still have a house. Thanks for the concern, but there is no "getting taken advantage of" here.
  12. Thanks for the quick help... hummm... I am feeling better already. YAHOOOOOOO
  13. Newbie having issues. I have gone thru student program, and have 24 jumps, I do not have my license. My home dz is no longer a USPA group member, although they were and are still operating. Can I still continue working towards getting my A license at this dz? Anybody know. Also, on a personal note, my roommate and full time sweety is about to step out on his own with respect to employment, and in turn, I feel I need to refrain from skydiving until the dust settles, as the house is mine, car is mine, ect (he never once asked me to stop). This is truly breaking my heart. I have all my gear finally, and it is just sitting collecting cat fur. Anybody have some advice on how to handle this. I know I can't possibly be the only person this ever happened too. My co-workers cannot take any more of my crying at my desk.
