In Dec I bought a 2002 Yamaha Vstar 1100 Custom. Looks great but because of the snow its still got 1km on the odo!

    WHAT A BITCH!

Here is mine. 10 yr old Siberian Husky X.
  4. Crap, I am at work thinking of jumping tomorrow and I am scared! Its been almost a year. But I guess thats cause I am a noobie.
  5. I bet the cultural differences are huge. I am not really saying right or wrong to let a kid jump out of a plane, but teach him what he needs to know first.
  6. I saw it last night too. Pretty distastefull. I think most adults would have the same outcome. Poor trainning and outdated gear. Thats why IAD SL is a great wat to start.
  7. Metric is the only way to go. Looked at a Dyna then bought a 2002 Vstar 1100.
  8. Go for it! I did my begginer and intermediate course. The first six flight were tow jobs on a winch. Then launching off a 300' steep hill. Its a totally different experience. I don't have the money to do both, so I will probably pick skydiving instead. Little more intense. While I was doing my course four experienced skydivers came out. One had a bad landing and sprained her leg. She had to sit out for the rest of the day.
  9. Thanks! Little more background. I grew up with this dog. She sleeps on my bed leaving me little room. I don'care. I get off the couch. She gets on. I sit in the chair. She always gets the passenger seat in the truck. Not the back or the box. She is an inside dog but grew up on a large acreage never tied up and no fences. Our dogs have had a better life than most kids ever will. I guess thats why I was so pissed off. Damn inbreeding doo gooders. Thanks again for the feedback!
  10. Ok me and a buddy go snowboarding for two hours at a local hill tonight. My 10 year old Siberian Husky shepard cross loves the truck. Most of the time I have to haul her ass out. Even on very hot days with both doors open. Anywho after out 1st run I hear my truck and license plate being paged. I run up to customer service. They claim two girls reported me for being cruel to my dog for leaving her in the truck. I even put a big bowl of water in and leave the windows cracked. Ita about 2C at the time, so no extreme weather going on. I checked on her to make sure she was ok. She was. After we finish snowboaring these fucking morons tossed snow balls in my truck so my dog doesn't die of thirst thus covering my seat in dirt and snow. Also one of the fucking snow balls lands in her water dish. So know these idiot fucking doo gooders gave my dog dirty water. I just needed to vent, pissed off. So whaddya thunk? Am I cruel to my dog?
  11. Hey anyone who works or had worked in the oilfield.. I need your advice. I am considering it for a job/career but my knowlegde is verry little on the field. Thanks Pete,
  12. IT hurts!! Lots. But it gets better. I was a skier for two years then I gave up to peer pressure. I never got to ride with skier cause you can't find many! I got a smokin deal on new gear. Never rented. I did buy before the season started. That helps. I think I have been out around seven times. It gets better each time. I never took any lessons, but I had my buddies help me out. Pete

    ATV Skydive

For the record I did look for this but found nothing. I know it had to have been posted because I saw it on real TV. What I saw was a quad and trailer dropped out the back of the plane. Two guys in the quad with roll cage and everything. The quad was rigged with the parachute and it was controlled from instide the quad. Any news on this? Just make me really curious how it was done. Thanks Pete
  17. Sweet I went to school with the pilot! He did this same kind of thing a few years ago.
  18. Yup same thing happens to me. I am sure sometimes I have never read that thread. Pete
  19. AirAnn Happens pretty fast eh? I wasn't sure what happened either. Just stared at my hand for a few seconds. The nurses made fun of me, people at work made fun of me, friends made fun of me. Funny story if it wasn't me! Actually I laughed about it as well. Hope ya have a speedy recovery. Pete
  20. I fell in the shower a few months ago. On the way down I thought I was gonna either bash my head on the crapper or my ribs on the tub. I fell go up felt my head and ribs. Both were ok, looked at my left hand and it was a 1.5" gash. Swung my arm back and hit the plastic on the tap. Four stitches and another embarrasing story. Pete
  21. Wow thats powerful. I decieded not to finish the last part. I just can't help it, I have 30 people working for me and I don't want them to see me bawling like a little kid. When I was 15 we went looking for a dog and found a Siberian Husky/German Shepard puppy. She was 6months old and the owners couln't say a good word about her. The kids were pulling her ears and legs, I took her home immediatly. I am 24 moved out three years ago a left Pepper at home with my parents. Broke my heart, it was the hardest part. Still have her never trainned her to doa damn thing. I walk her off the leash, never makes a mess. Just very emoptionall demanding. Which is ok. I will finish the article when everone is gone home!
  22. Aneblett definetly give me a call if you are up this way. Edmonton Skydive center rocks! The people rock!
  23. Not sure why I left the sport... Just got up one morning and never went back. The jump went really well. And partly the money, I have many interest and funding is a problem. I own a three bedroom condo and after three years by myself I am going to get a roomate or two.
  24. I have only posted once before, but I feel its a good time! I have a just got back into the sport after a two year absence. Jump 12 was a reserve ride, it was suppsoed to be a 5sec delay. I counted to five and when I pulled I throught the PC out in front wrapping the bridal around my arm. I pointed my arm then flipped belly up and wrapped the bridal around my bady. I pulled the reserve which was round and I am 230lbs. I screwed my knee pretty bad on landing. Three months later I did a paper pull which couldn;t have gone better. Slow relaxed, made the paper pull, watched a BEAUTIFUL square deploy above me, came in for a stand up landing. I was cleared for freefall again and never went back. Lost the ambition. Well for the last six months its all I could think about. So I did #14 another paper pull. It was really strange because I felt like a FJS again but I was experienced. Anyhow I made the paper pull watched the plane then the canopy open. The canopy ride was my funnest yet, no radio help either, excpet for flare..... I landed on the runway an then got dragged for about 5' I have a road rash on my arm. Kinda pround of it. My plans are to sell my Stand, and get a roommate to pay for my retured need to skydive.
  25. Two years ago I was doing my 12th jump which was a five second delay. After the five seconds I tossed the PC and wrapped it around my arm and trying to point I had flipped over on my back with the briday wrapped around my chest. At that time I pulled the reserve handle. As I was pulling the handle the briday was caught in my hand as well. During the opening I was worried about the main also deploying. As I looked up I saw a round, oh crap I am 234lbs. The landing was brutal, hurt like hell and screwed my knee up. I have a love/hate relationship with rounds. I never want to fly one again but at the time I was glad to see it!
