I'm too lazy to go and search for any previous posts about this...
I did a clear and pull to lurk some crew. We exited @ 14500. My protrack registered the jump as 10500 with deployment @ 10400. The setting was on "slo". The SAS was on. Why 10-5 and not 14-5? Was it because it was in the pocket on my rig(Inside the harness strap)? Should I get it checked?

Oh yeah, I could be wrong, but the first warning seemed to come somewhere around 7000 ft...but it could have been lower.

That goes for me as well.

My particular favorite is to hold onto the strut with my left hand and one foot on the strut. Then I let my other arm and leg get into my burble...Then I swing them in as fast as I can to induce a spin and hold that for a while...It looks pretty cool on video as well.

I am now SOOOOOOOO hungry...I still have to go finish making the cheese dip...

I only got about 2 hours of sleep last night.

All the peeps at work here are getting tired of hearing about the boogie tomorrow.

Congrats...our weather outlook is not as sunny as yours, but i don't believe the services any more. The only thing here in Texas that is guaranteed as far as the weather goes is that it is guaranteed that we will have some kind of weather. It may drastically change every 15 minutes, but we willl always have some weather.

This weekend is the Summer Jam Boogie here at Coulter field [Praying] Please let the weather be Jumpable [/Praying]
We are going for the Texas state Freefly record. Also the Sugar Gliderz will be here doing coaching and stuff. I think they have a camp going as well.

I began jumping last september...I was worried that I wouldn't make my goal - 200 - before this coming september. If the weather would have cooperated, and getting off student status didn't take as long as it does, and every thing in the world was aligned in harmony, , Maybe. But I'll paraphrase what the DZO at the DZ I call home said to me when I brought it up to him. I said something like, "Hey todd, I really need to get some jumps in so that I'm not rushing at the end of the year to get my D-Liscense." He just looked at me and said that simply,"There are alot worse things that can happen to you other than not getting your D before September." I sat there and thought about it then, and I still think about it now. And he's perfectly right...I can think of a bunch of worse things than not getting my "D" and having to wait until 500.
Do I still want to make my goal? - Of course I do. Will I? I dunno, but I don't think it is all that safe to fixate on it.

Not that I should , but I'll give you my opinion. I say opinion b/c I that's all it can be at this point.(and at this hour) --- 1)F-111 is a more pourous fabric. 2)Yes, it does degrade over time. 3)Flight charachteristics should be the same to begin with. 4)The glide path seems to be longer with a z-p.
I fly a saber 2, and I flew on a hybrid (Navigator)as a student. I have had one reserve ride on a PD Reserve (F-111). I found that the hybrid "sank" a little faster than the saber2, and the saber 2 has more forward speed. (I'm not sure speed has all that much to do with the fabric as much as the design - the fabric will just lets the canopy last longer without degrading) Take this with a grain as well. The reserve ride - lots of adrenalyn pumping on that ride. It seemed the most docile canopy I had ever flown. Of course I wasn't trying to do any spirals or anything. (I did enough of those right before.) I did however have a very soft landing, with almost no glide. I just sank right in and flared - actually really nice, considering.
That's all my limited experiance can conjure up at the moment. If I am incorrect about anything here, please set me strait. I don't want to mis-inform and I don't want to be mis-informed either.

I agree. I don't wanto and will not "Narrow". I even told her that we could get married again (she's my ex wife). But it would only be on a skydive. So either I don't want to get married again - or she's gunna hafta learnta jump outta dem planes.

I aggree Dave. It is a very serious topic and should not be treated lightheartedly.
I have only been in the sport for 8 months...As much as I would already like to, I just don't have the insight that can only be gained with experience. But I assure you, I take this very seriously.

I would hate to be put in a position where I had to make a choice. I really want to avoid that if I can.

Someone told her, once, that the only way that she was going to understand what it's really all about would be for her to do it.
I'm not going to hold my breath on that one.
I do think, one day, I'll be able to include either one or both of them in my little hobby. I can't wait until that happens. Then I can share the joy that I feel when I am flying.
