  1. Let's go. Time to train again. Johnny and I will be jumping this weekend in Lake Wales. Chris
  2. Wow. That sounds great. Jr. pulls it off. Sounds like a very good meet. Congratulations to you guys from the Southeast region. Chris
  3. Yes we can make special mention of the lovely winds and we must also make a very special mention of Scott Roberts of Team Fastrax and the US National Swoop Team who was on hand at this meet and offered coaching to all of the competitors. Scott videod from the ground and debriefed competitors between rounds. Scott talked of setups and strategies and at the end of the day all of the competitors watched their swoops as Scott debriefed with them. Thanks to Scott Roberts for coming out to this meet and good luck this summer at the World Championships in Austria. For coaching with Scott you can reach him at [email protected]
  4. David Jr. Ludvik takes it. The fifth and final meet of the 2006 season was held at Lake Wales Florida on Saturday June 17th and Jr. took it and $100 for the win. Congratulations to Jr. He finally got one from Delibac. Tom Delibac took second and $80 with Vitaly Turbayelski taking third place and $50 Special congratulations goes out to Greg Lidaros who participated in his first swoop comp under his Katana 120. Great job and hope to see you next year Greg. Check out the scores attached to this email and for all the scores from the 2006 season check out www.cpafl.org See you all next year.
  5. Tom Delibac Wins The Overall in the Southeast for 2006 Well that wraps up another season of regional swooping in the Southeast. Thanks to everyone involved to make this season the best yet. All of the people at the DZ's, Betty and Eric and Ken from Lake Wales, TK and Carrie and everyone from the Hills, Wendy and the gang from Sebastian always rock and of course Hans, Sandy and Ella from the Farm in Georgia. We look forward to see you all again soon. It was a great pleasure for all of us to visit all of you this season. On behalf of all of the pilots in this region, thank you all very much for supporting swooping. And of course again, Kolla and Lara and Robin and Jennifer and Michelle and Roy and Justin who made this season the best on record.....Thanks! So.......2004, Ian Bobo, 2005 Tyler Lawson, 2006 Tom Delibac. Tom now stands in some good company after his second place finish last weekend in Lake Wales. Tom has won the coveted 2006 Southeast overall swooping championship. Tom competed in all 5 meets this season winning three of them and taking second place in the other two. Competitors who competed in 5 meets this year have their worst finish dropped with their four best scores determining their points towards the overall championship. Finishing a close second overall was David “Jr.” Ludvik. David and Delibac are both in their first year of competitive swooping. David had one first place finish, a second and two fourths towards his overall placing. Both of these pilots will be gunning hard in Colorado for the National CPC championship. Jesse Watson finished third overall in the season standings with Vitaly Turbayelski finishing in the fourth spot. Turbayelski is returning competitor after taking some time off from competition swooping. Travis Stewart finished fifth edging out Joey "Sunman" Day who finshed sixth overall. The Southeast region had fourteen out of the nineteen registered members new to competition swooping for the 2006 season. Everyone did an outstanding job in their first year of competition. We like to give out a special mention to Denise Chervenak who committed to swooping her Katana 107 in the 2006 season. Denise with her enthusiasm and willing to learn and to share her knowledge with other newer competitors has had an overall positive effect on swooping in the Southeast region. Denise has participated in competitions and training camps around the country this season and plans to attend the CPC championships in Colorado this August. Good luck to Denise and all of the Southeast competitors at Mile High Skydiving for the 2006 CPC National Championships. For all the scores from the 2006 season check www.cpafl.org See you all in 2007
  6. Tom Dellibac wins another one Meet 4 of the 2006 Southeast CPC series took place over this past weekend at The Farm located in Rockmart Georgia. The DZ is in it’s third year of operations and is doing well. A beautiful location boasts two natural ponds and a huge landing area. A good mix of skydivers is present at the farm with the Grand Caravan flying close to 20 loads despite some high winds. New jumpers and very highly experienced jumpers are jumping at the farm along with student and tandem operations running smoothly along side the swoop competition. There is a 4 way VRW team training at The Farm with some impressive video footage to share. Team Mandarin plans on competing in a number of 4 way VRW comps this year. Kolla and Lara and Robin and Roy made the drive up to Georgia from Florida to handle the judging and the video work and as always did an outstanding job. Although judge Jennifer Leiras was missed, this team of judges that has been with the Southeast series for the entire 2006 season is proving to be top notch. Performance Designs provided t shirts and give away prizes for the competitors. Fourteen competitors competed in the fourth meet of the year for a cash purse of $450. Some high winds during the day put the comp on hold for a while, but five out of the six rounds were completed. One round of zone accuracy on the big natural swoop pond was not able to be completed. Tom Dellibac, winning his third meet of the year took the top spot and collected $220 for his efforts. Chris Hayes competing as guest pro competitor using the CPC handicap system took second place and $150. Mark Shimell also competing as a pro guest competitor took third place and $80. Vitally Turbayelski finished less than one point behind Shimell to take fourth. The point difference between third and fourth was 0.56 points. Jesse Watson rounded out the top five. With this win, it seems that Dellibac’s strong performance in his first year of competitive swooping has secured him the top spot for the coveted overall Southeast CPC champion with only one meet to go for the season. Dellibac, flying an Icarus VX, stays in first place with David “Jr” Ludvik moving up another place into second while John Zuliani slips down to fifth spot. Jesse Watson moves up three spots from sixth to third with his overall consistent flying for the season and his fifth place finish for this meet. Joey “Sun Man” Day also moves up three spots into fourth place for the overall standings. After the last meet each competitors worst score will be dropped and the overall winners will be calculated and the 2006 Championship Belt will be awarded. The last meet for the year will be held at Lake Wales on June 17th Hope to see you all!
  7. Check out these picts from the Z Hills meet in Florida from photographers Justin and Roy. www.flcpa.photoreflect.com
  8. 18 competitors, $900 prize purse. Despite the winds, 18 competitors showed up in Z Hills for meet 3 of the 2006 season in the Southeast CPC region. We only got three rounds done, but it was an exciting meet to say the least. The judges have gotten very good at their jobs and are now posting placings after each round so competitors and spectators know what the placings are creating some drama for sure. After competing two speed rounds, some high winds kicked up and did not come back down until the sunset load when the crowd came back out to watch a beautiful sunset load of swoopers tear up the pond at Z Hills with a spectacular sunset for a backdrop. Tom Dellibac took first place for his second win of the season and took home $400. Tom is in first place in the overall standings for the Southeast region. David Ludvik took second place for the meet moving him up one place in the overall palcings for the season from 4th to 3rd. Nice one Jr. David took home $300 for the finish. John Zuliani took third. John also moved up in the ranks for the overall from 3rd to 2nd place with this finish. John took home $200. Thanks to all the judges. Kolla, Lara, Jennifer, Sandy, Robin, Danny, Justin and Roy and especially to TK and Carrie and everyone else at Z Hills for their support and their help. They continue to suport Canpopy Piloting with their pond and their efforts and we are greatfull to them for it. Thanks Z Hills. Hope to see you all in Georgia next month at the Farm for meet 4 on May 13th.
  9. We are going to try for a 25 way if enough people show up, so if you can fly it and you can make it out, let's go. This weekend.
  10. Well....this idea about having a photographer come out and take a lot of pictures of everyone and put them on a website for sale is not permanent. As a professional photographer myself, I do know that the cameras that these guys are using cost thousands of dollars and although they have been gracious enough to come out time and time again to take pictures for us, I would like to compensate them for their time and efforts while at the same time try to provide another service to competition participants. If you guys feel in any way that this is not a good idea or have any suggestions regarding this then of course let us know. Basically the way the site works is we upload all of our photos onto the site and then if someone orders a photo the company prints and ships it to the customer, so the $6.50 is almost all cost. But again if you feel that this is a bad idea then we can remove the site. Hope this helps.
  11. Nice. Thanks Chuck. See you there. Chris
  12. The southeast CPC Meet 3 being held in Z-Hills in April is on April 8th, not April 15th. April 15 was orginally posted on this website, but the date was changed soon after that. That was the only date that was changed. It was changed before the first meet of this year happened. The change is due to the Easter boogie at Z Hills. There will be three planes in the air at all times and no room for 5000 ft hop and pops, so we had to move it to one week earlier. You can find the current dates at www.cpafl.org
  13. Hey Chuck Justin Carmody and Roy Anosen. They are getting good with their cameras!
  14. Check out the photos from the event at www.flcpa.photoreflect.com Justin Carmody and Roy Anosen are the photographers and they are getting really good at it. Thanks to them!
  15. Meet 2 of the Southeast CPC was held this past weekend at Skydive Sebastian. Pilots showed up on Friday for practice and had great winds all day long. The winds picked up a little bit on Saturday afternoon, but all six rounds of the comp were completed with no injuries. 15 competitors competed at the event with three new people joining the league bringing the total to 17 people competing for the overall Southeast CPC championship and the 2006 belt. All the judges, Kolla, Lara, Jennifer, Robin and Sandy Bobo did an excellent job judging the event. They are all just fantastic people and it is a pleasure to have them involved with us here in Florida. Thank you. Roy and Justin were on hand taking all the photos to document the event. Thanks to those guys always. Tom Dellibac Sr. showed up to see if Tom jr. could repeat his 1st place performance from the first meet of this season and helped out with the course changes and just helped make it all happen. Thanks to Tom Sr. And Jay Mo and Tucci showed up. That's right Jay Mo and Tucci. Jay coached all of the competitors all day long and reviewed all of the days swoops on video at the end of the day. Of course we all know what Jay Mo has done for the sport, but Tucci just rocks. So thanks to her too. Brian from www.adventureonline.tv showed up and did an event video for us and we thank him for his interest in our sport. Check out the vid from the event on his site. And of course Wendy and all the people at Skydive Sebastian are just some of the coolest people on the planet. It is always a pleasure to jump with them and we look forward to a pond in Sebastian someday. So.......1st Place goes to Johnny Z. "How do ya like it Johnny" John takes home $300 for first place. Tommy D takes Second place and $200 and Keith McBeth takes home 3rd place and $100. Tommy's second place finish is enough to keep him in first place for the overall title race in the Southeast division of the Canopy Piloting Circuit. David Ludvik and Adrian Hart round out the top 5 for the meet. So thanks again to everyone who traveled (GA boys) and competed and see you next month on the pond in Z Hills.
  16. I'm working on the scores right now. I'll post them soon. Chris
  17. April 8th is Z Hills, not April 15. Then May 13 at the Farm and June 17 at Lake Wales. Check out www.cpafl.org for schedule and current rules and weight classes. Hope to see you at them all. Chris
  18. Round 2 of the Southeast CPC is March 18 at Skydive Sebastian. Jay Moledzki will be on hand offering free coaching to all competition particiapants. For those of you who have been off the planet for the last couple of years, Jay is the current World Games gold medalist, the current world record distance holder of 678 ft and a member of the Performance Designs Factory swoop team. Hope to see you all.
  19. ***You're lucky. You get natural added wingloading that someone like me at 170 can't get. You have the advantage, so don't complain. Actually, with a body weight of 170 and a rig weight of say 20 pounds, that puts you at an exit weight of 190 allowing you to wear up to 21 extra pounds of weight. This means that you have the ability to make adjustments to your wing loading. The heavy guys can't do that and I don't know about you, but I would rather be a little lighter for a light downwind zone acc jump....?
  20. Here are the scores after the first meet towards the overall Southeast CPC champion and the 2006 Championship belt. Don't worry Tyler, we'll get a new one for this year. Your belt is safe although I did hear some rumors of a planned attack for the 2005 belt. This and other information will be available soon on the website.
  21. Weight restrictions have been approved by IPC and USPA and will be implemented in CPC, PST, USPA and FAI santioned events for the 2006 season. They will be released soon.
  22. Hey guys Just a little more time, I'm sure, and all the rules regarding weight classes and percentage scoring and handicapp (5 and 10' gates) rules will be released to be used in the CPC. Remember we have still not even reached the Feb 28 release date and with Jim's situation there might be a little delay. Let's be patient right now. Thanks Chris
