Are you interested in some canopy coaching?

How's this for last minute? Any one interested, we will have a low key swoop meet for skyquest at Skydive Deland this weekend. Saturday November 18th $100 bucks to enter includes 4 jumps. 4 jumps total 2 distance and 2 zone accuracy jumps. $500 prize purse. So $250 for 1st, $150 for second and $100 for third. There is a lot of stuff going on at DeLand this weekend with Skyquest so hopefully some of you can make it out for a very low key comp and some fun jumps.

You will need to be there no later than 8 am. All intermediate competitors are strongly urged to do at least one practice jump before the competition starts. Hopefully everyone will be there on Wednesday for a practice jump, but if not there will be one or two practice loads on the morning of the intermediate comp. Intermediate competitor briefing will be at 9:00 am with round one at 9:30

Hey Donna It would be really great to see you guys come down for this one since we don't get to see you this month. So... There will be practice jumps on Thursday January 4th at the beach that will take off from the DZ at a cost of $16 We will be combining the comp jumps with the Heli and the plane from the DZ. We will rotate people through the Heli each day. So everyone does one jump from Heli per day and three from the plane. The Heli will be taking off from the parking lot of the Sebastian Beach Inn. Right at the beach location and there will be a bus to take competitors back to the DZ. It's about a 30 minuite drive to the DZ. We are doing four comp jumps per day competitors will only need to take one ride from the beach to the DZ in the morning and one in the afternoon. Hope this answers Sonic's question and hope you can talk him into coming down.

Pros can compete in the intermediate comp using 10' gates if they want to and will be scored, but will not qualify for overall placing or prizes. The intermediate comp is on Thursday and that is practice day for the pros to do beach jumps so I would think that most of the pros will be practicing at the beach location.

The womens comp is part of the amateur competition that will take place at the DZ on Thursday January 4th. It will be 6 rounds of speed distance and accuracy using 10' gates and amateur course dimensions. It is more of an introduction comp, low profile, low stress, for guys and girls who are interested in competing. The competition on the beach is a pro competition with 5 gates. It's a much more advanced location to land in. If you have previous experience competing in pro or national or world level canopy piloting competition, then this may be the one you want to enter. I think you would enter one or the other although if you are thinking of entering the pro comp on the beach and want to do the amateur comp for fun, but not qualify for medals or prizes then that would be OK too.

It's up to you how late you want to stay up. If you are coming for the pro comp the party will be after. On Saturday night January 6 at the beach location.

I have just spoken to the Best Western. They have the rooms booked for the event listed under Skydive Sebastian or the skydiving event. The skydiver rate is available every night except new years eve. So try giving them a call back to reserve your room and see you down there.

With the format, location and aircraft we must ask for a pre registration so that we can better prepare for a smooth meet. It will be available this week online. There will be a cutoff date and a late fee for anyone who does not pre register. Ian please let everyone know about this and see you in January.

Hey Paul This is the only event we are working on right now. It should be a good one. I did however just come back from Belgium and the European tour for 2007 looks like it's shaping up nicely. They are working on their schedule right now so we should look for that to come out as soon as they are ready with it. You should really try to make some of the European events next year Paul.

Yes, this comp is directly geared to those of you who have never competed before. This is a perfect opportunity for you guys... and gals who have been watching and waiting to come out and shows us your stuff and unleash your fury on the sport of Swooping. There will be alot of Pro pilots there and some fun stuff for all. The skills camps with Performance Designs Factory coaches that will be available all week prior to the Intermediate comp, are a great option for you to get some coaching before you compete and don't forget the Essential skills camps with Jimmy T that will be available also. If you are at all interested in flying parachutes, this will definately be the place to be for the week of January 1-6

There will be an itermediate competition on Thursday January 4 at the DZ. It will consist of 6 rounds of speed, distance and accuracy with 10 ft gates and IPC weight restrictions. There will be cash and prizes for the top three overall finishers and for the top three female finishers. The Pro comp on the beach will have a larger cash purse yet to be determined (it will be respectable) distributed among the top ten finishers. It will also use IPC weight restriction rules. The events that will be done at the beach will be announced soon.
