  1. I have a question for anyone local.
I checked some stuff out but I don't want step on any toes or any thing along those lines. Please respond By PM.

    Eric.

  2. I really wish I had the option to get Skydiving Magazine instead of Parapoopist with my USPA membership. Or not get any magazine and pay half of what a membership costs and just read the magazines in the DZ bathroom.

  3. I can't wait till next year already. I had a ton of fun, made some awsome skydives, sold some dye work, and made some new friends. That's what it's all about. Thanks to all, you know who you are.

  4. This question is really easy to answer with regards to the main reasons why more women don't base jump and it has nothing directly to do with the archiac crap about women being more social and men more logical. It's about expendible income and exposure. If more women had more money (still it's 70 cents to the man's dollar for the same job) and more exposure the the sport, there would be more base jumping women. Think about it like this, what if we change the group to say, people of african or latino descent? Is there fewer male latino jumpers because latinos are less logical and 'solo/wandering' oriented than white men? If I posted that I'd get totally ripped for being a racist and yet nobody made that connection and spoke up while there was a lot of garble about women tending to be this or that way and men tending to be another. It's about expendible income (which certianly does lead to women having to spend a greater percentage on family oriented stuff) and exposure/social acceptance.

  5. I was recently on a trip and was "selected" by the gestapo, I mean Homeland Security, to have all of luggage, checked and carry-on, searched. As I was being told what was going to happen I mentioned that I had a rig in my carry-on and one in my checked luggage. The security person became quite excited and called out to his supervisor. He came over and look at my rig and stated that he had never dealt with any parachuting gear before. At this point I was past being pissed off and calmly told them that I would help them in any way possible. I helped them to unpack both of rigs and they proceeded to pat down every inch of fabric. What I did to help minimize my troubles in getting my gear back into my suitcases was to unfold it in such a way as to allow them to search my canopies to their liking and allow me to field pack my rigs at the same time. All in all it was fairly painless, but f*ck those guys. ;)
