What are the rules/BSR's about jumping with a tandem that you want to strengthen? Are the available in the SIM? USPA is a joke when it comes to regulating tandems, if it makes money its good.

Exactly. I think it is a great thing that we have the USPA recognizing wingsuits as category for records, just not sure about the criteria.

Two sources of what? that there was an incident or that the FAA is watchihng the interaction of wngsuits and tandems? your source says there was an incicdent. Spots source says the FAA is closely watching for an incident that injures a tandem passenger. I think that tandem flybys that are closer than you would want another canopy deploying next to you are stupidly close, becasue you are subjecting someone to a significant risk that has no knowledge of the risk. Even at distances they should be planned out on the ground with all tandems on the load knowing what is going on, with planned areas for the flyby and no fly areas. IT would not bother me if there was BSR that said no wingsuit in fight is allowed within 1000 feet of a tandem.

Ignore any other definition of flat spin that might have been in use in general aviation for nearly a hundred years that you might have learned from numerous credible sources.

Why do you feel it is ok to add any risk to the tandem passenger? yes it is very unlikely that you will have a premature deployment at the exact instant that you are sliding underneath them, but it is a possibility. justifying what you want to do by saying it only increases the risk for someone else, who has no idea that what you are doing is increasing their risk, just seems to be bad form.

Anyone else think that the lense shown in the Prod=155 link looks an awful lot like the .3 Babydeath lense? what are the chances it is a rebranded babydeath lense? I'm seriously considering dropping the $100 to find out.

why are you choosing the cx100 as getting closer to the goal? what about the T1i? isn't it getting closer? there is progress towards the goal of one box capturing both video and stills at a quality level that will be accepted by most people for most uses. traditional video cameras and still cameras are both traveling down two separate paths towards that goal. It is still a few years away from reality. I think the still camera incorporating video is the path more likely to deliver the results we desire. It would be great if we had a box the size and weight of the cx100 (minus its glass) with the glass available for the T1i that could capture both stills and video, when that box is released at a price point below $2k, I will be standing in line to buy it. A few people may be willing to accept one of the solutions available today, but I doubt that you could convince a majority of the cameramen out there that the cx100 or T1i was the only box they needed to carry to get the video and stills expected by their customers.
