  1. My new camera setup with a Cookie G3, two go pros with hypoxic turned on indicators and a cut away system. It's almost snag proof and the cutaway is simple replacement of the webbing on the fixed end of the original buckle. It is a piece of webbing fixed at one end, the opposite end has a hole that a loop of shock cord passes thru a hole in the helmet a hole in the webbiing and a closing pin off an old pilot chute goes thru the loop, the closing pin is attached to a loop of wire off an old bonehead cutaway and the padding Velcro holds it in place. If you copy this, be sure to inspect the shock cord loop for wear occasionally.

  3. so the really important question What happened to the twelve pack of Coronas?
  4. Does this mean we have to start calling him Captain Scott now?
  5. I did about 5 jumps with a demo zulu 150 flying my ghost. all the openings were on heading, even when I tried to see what would happen with bad body position. I purposely went for the pilot chute with just the one arm and did not do much to counter the roll and yaw, just enough to keep from going all the way over into a barrel roll, so my shoulders were very uneven at line stretch, I just squared up my hips and the opening was on heading. All the openings were quick and smooth. It really likes to harness steer with the brakes set. I was advised not to jump it with my venom, I would probably want to get another 50 jumps on one before jumping it with a big suit. I had no opportunity to see how it flew in line twists.
  6. yes, broken zipper, stuck zipper and separated jammed zipper.
  7. C- for someone on their 1000th wingsuit jump, the odds are still only 70-30 you stick out the right wing.
  8. Maybe you should just drop in.
  9. You might want to put some thought into the idea of how do you turn it off if the light doesn't blink. think about the process used to turn it off, how do you do that with no light?
  10. I hope they figure it out for you before your next cutaway!
  11. How are you triggering the shutter?
  12. why not start with a quick explanation of what types of shows you do, (flags, pyro...) and lead into the places and shows you have been invited too and then thepilots you've met and planes you have gotten to jump out of. which could lead into a discussion about jumping out of experimental planes the regulations and what to look out for.
  13. Want to sell the prototype? I'll buy it, or a production model.
  14. Looks like USPA should require someone to requalify for their pro rating. Explain why they did a carving swoop over the crowd line to land crosswind? I thought being over the crowd line was specifically prohibited by the FAA.
  15. must have been using the billable hours calculator!
  16. I had one in my hands at the sony store yesterday. It looked like with some work with a dremel and a drill you could modify the headband mount, to mount on the side of a helmet with a flat side. I did not get to take any video with it, I really interested in how it compares to the contour and gopro.
  17. I would add to your well thought out post. Creating a USPA wingsuit instructor rating will not get rid of terrible instructors. you can find examples of great and terrible instrutors who hold USPA AFF ratings and tandem ratings, so the rating doesn't fix the problem of good and bad instructors. To fix the problem, we the current and future wingsuiters have to want to learn, continue to learn and pass on the knowledge. We have to be willing to stand up when a problem is encountered. We have to be willing to work with the DZO's and S&TA's to educate them and get their assistance in correcting problems that we can't correct on our own. Guess what, we will still have to do all of that after there is a USPA wingsuit instructor rating.
