Actually we were 14 birds out of a king air at the same time working on a wedge shaped formation. It build up to 8 or 9 flying close and the rest working hard to take their slots. I have been told that seen from the ground, it look like a big fighter formation. Even though i don't know for sure what the "official" flock is...

I was part of this Bird-man fiesta and i am still in a state of shock... It was so incredible to see all these birds flying together with a background of autumn colors... Being part of a group with such talents is something that i am proud of!!! I am sure it's the biggest flocking dive to happen in this country (Canada)! Wow, what a saturday....

Mine was a "Comet" i think around 250 sq ft. coupled with a Phantom 24 round reserve.

Maybe if we trained a ski jumper and have him try a wingsuit while jumping off a ramp we might see how he would fly and land with the skis... It would be some sort of R&D..

I use the standard bridle and it always open very nicely. I don't plan to change it for a longer one. And about the openings, the lightning is exactly the thing to use when opening at those slower airspeed since it is intended for CRW. I should add thought that i pack it with a pod not with a tailpocket. I might add that in my area we are a few Bird-Man addict jumping with Lightnings.

I do jump a 7 cells (lightning 176) and i find it extremely reliable... I had line twist only once and it was more because of my pulling sequence than because of the canopy.

We took out a three way from the step of a 182 a few times and i found it pretty easy to climb out. The only problem being to keep our wings not inflated as much as possible and for the rest it's quite easy. The launch make the whole group pretty close together and all in clean air.

Yes, the wings will be like streamers but big ones and they will hang from your arms, that is the reason you may find instability...
