  1. my 2 cents worth! i believe the use of comma's in your posting of the 2nd amendment is incorrect. in all the copy's of the constitution and amendments that i have read there is no punctuation in the 2nd amendment , except for the period at it's end. if it is read with-out punctuation, i believe, the intent becomes much more straight forward and clear. i do not claim to be an expert in constitutional law or the english langauge. i have, however, read the federalist papers by jefferson, and most of whats available on jefferson, b. franklin, patrick henry, etc...etc... in reading these works i have only one conclusion to put forward. and that is these great and forward looking and history respectful people were very affraid of the their countrymen not having any way to control an out of control governing body. they penned the 2nd amendment to ensure that the "constitution" would not be subjugated or subverted, it being the most important document ever worded by man! these are also my beliefs, brent *** ~~~~Green grass and high clouds forever~~~~ no matter where you go, there you are!
  2. as always, i could hang a baseball bat on mine! *** ~~~~Green grass and high clouds forever~~~~ no matter where you go, there you are!
  3. i too am sitting on the fence about this also. after a few bad personal choices, a very close call with the ground, 1 very close friends death jumping, 2 really shitty DZO's (a term applied loosely to those of which i speak) and of course the turning prop, i have been laboring over that very same thing! my thoughts are this, if i sell my gear the chances of me getting back into "the game" would be slim at best. i think stepping back is the best answer for me, not out-right walking away. you don't have to make 500 or 1000 jumps a year to be a "skydiver". BUT, not being honest about your currency to jump is dangerous at best, and deadly at the worst. brent *** ~~~~Green grass and high clouds forever~~~~ no matter where you go, there you are!
  4. C-BASS, i just saw you on he way up with the today crew. you owe BEER!!!!!!! *** ~~~~Green grass and high clouds forever~~~~ no matter where you go, there you are!
  5. in 2003 i took a man on a tandem for his 82nd birthday. WE had a great time. he was up-beat and seemed to take it all in. he also said, as most tandem students do, that he would be back! i didn't give that any thought until i was told that i had been requested by a former student to TM again. i was hugely suprised and pleased to see this same man waiting for me in front of the loft! that jump was for his 83rd birthday and he asked if we could just fly the canopy less the free -fall ? we were in the air for about 15 mins. saw a couple of DC-9's go by, touched a cloud or 2. that might be my favorite tandem to date! *** ~~~~Green grass and high clouds forever~~~~ no matter where you go, there you are!

  7. last christmas i spent way too much on a person who only had their own goals in mind. and fed and watered their cats for a week while they had fun on a jumping vacation. i didn't even get a thank you or a fuck you for that part! ~~~~Green grass and high clouds forever~~~~ no matter where you go, there you are!
  8. the phone was temporarily down because of a mailing error by BELL south. it is up and running now. the web site is up also, skydivenawlins.com we are jumping a C-182 from Tecumseh at the moment. the airport has been majorly up-graded in the lasat few years and is getting another 1000 ft. we are at the Slidell airport at the end of airport rd. just up the street from the mall, just off of interstate 12. drive in past the tie-down ramp area up to the T-hangers, we are on the far left. currently we are out there only on a reservation basis. most of the staff is driving about 80 miles to get to the dz and if there isn't work to do we have a hard time driving there each day. Sooooooooo........... if you want to come out and see some of the most beautiful landscape around and jump with some pretty cool people, just give us a call and see what we can do for you. call 888- SKYDIVR peace, brent ~~~~Green grass and high clouds forever~~~~ no matter where you go, there you are!
  9. man, i have been telling people for years that margerine is only one molecule different than plastic. and like many other things that i read about and try to pass on, people just stare blankly and then act like i just saw ET ! the american public has this ingrained belief that if it's on the market that it must be safe. o our government is only required to answer the questions that WE ask of them ! peace, brent *** ~~~~Green grass and high clouds forever~~~~ no matter where you go, there you are!
  10. go with it bud !!! my girl is 19 and i'm 39, have a field day with that ! we just really like being with each other and we really have a bunch in common. i said awhile back that i wouldn't have a relationship again with someone that young, but, here i am again. this time though, there is much more ease to the whole situation. if you both can deal, then drive on! peace, brent *** ~~~~Green grass and high clouds forever~~~~ no matter where you go, there you are!
  11. i started out doing the same thing, after a shitload of really hard openings and one exceptionaly hard opening that broke 3 lines , i made sure that i slowed as much as safely possible. peace, brent *** ~~~~Green grass and high clouds forever~~~~ no matter where you go, there you are!

  13. i appologize for the re-appearance of this thread , again, but here it is. jeff i don't feel like i owe anyone an appology for anything. as for "continuing to come out and jump" if you look at the manifest record it shows that the only jumps i've made there since june have been tandems. why only tandems? becuase junior, ron, rex, and hummit all asked me to help with the tandem load. there seems to be a sudden lack of instructors . there are always those that lend a hand and those that stand around and bitch. i don't care for this thread to continue, but if it must so be it. almost anyone should feel free to pm me to continue away from the prying public eye. peace, brent ~~~~Green grass and high clouds forever~~~~ no matter where you go, there you are!
  14. i was just thinking about this series a few days ago. i remember really enjoying these books then, and i certainly want to read the now. the first book did start a little slow as jeff said, but somewhere along the way it became almost impossible to put them down, long may the power of white gold reign! peace, brent *** ~~~~Green grass and high clouds forever~~~~ no matter where you go, there you are!
