ive never bought any skydiving stuff online yet. i buy and sell muscle car parts online a lot and have never really been burned yet though. when it comes time for me to buy some gear online i will only buy from someone who i can drive to them and WATCH THEM jump it. THEN id buy it. if i go to buy it and offer to pay for his jump and he turns me down, i sure as hell wouldnt throw my money at him and myself out of a plane with it! doug hey, i was stupid before stupid was cool!

i got to go last sunday. we got a break in the weather and had mostly sunny skies and 65 here in louisville KY and it had been way too long. i woke up, pulled the blinds and saw the sun and got dressed and went out there. besides sunday, thanksgiving week had been my last jump. theyve had only a few weekends since then that they COULD jump, but i nearly broke my back sledding (im extreme on everything!) in december so that kinda put a hamped on diving. buying a house now so i may have to just do one or two a month for a while. some is better than none! doug hey, i was stupid before stupid was cool!

i know the risks i take, and i am grateful somone keeps the DZ open knowing theres always the possibility of disaster followed by lawsuits. i wouldnt sue them or want my family to do so either. doug hey, i was stupid before stupid was cool!

matter of what you want out of your dives, i think. i didnt give tandems/ AFF a second thought as i want to be able to do things on my own. i wnat to get out on my own, do my own thing, pull my own cords, fly my canopy the way i want to, and take in the scenery without someone screamin in my ear statics are a bit cheaper, and i have been able to jump when the AFFers were grounded. plus, and this is just my opinion, so dont scream at me you AFF graduates......i think you learn better when you have to learn on the ground then do it on your own in the air rather than be instructed on the ground and shown what to do in freefall. either way, it doesnt matter, just enjoy it. doug hey, i was stupid before stupid was cool!

Hey ...if it didnt why would all be in this sport jason i dont imagine i will ever be not tense riding up on the plane. when i get to where it doesnt scare the shit out of me every time, ill quit. hope it never happens though. one jump every weekend though, i dotn think it ever will happen. thanks guys! doug hey, i was stupid before stupid was cool!

i had been wondering what they would tell me when i got to the DZ on a clear weekend since i hadnt jumped since thanksgiving and was still a student. i talked to the owner and he said i could take up where i left off on 30 secs. last sunday was 65 and clear and i got to go again finally. waffled a bit and screwed up the landing accuracy (like the accuracy was good before!), but satisfactorily passed onto 45 secs. havent had to repeat a jump YET. cool. such a nice feeling to be out there again, although the nervousness snuck up on me on the ride up, and i forgot how fast that 30 seconds really went! yeeeeha! doug hey, i was stupid before stupid was cool!

you ought to add another spot to vote. i am divorced, but i started diving after the divorce. id like to see how many people, who are divorced, were diving before the divorce versus who started after the divorce. that would be interesting doug hey, i was stupid before stupid was cool!

i went to the dz yesterday, but by the time i got there the wind had picked up big time and started snowing shortly after. the owner remembered me by name, surprisingly, and said that he would let me pick back up where i left off unless i got close to the 90 day mark, then hed make me go back and do a hop n pop, then pick back up at 30 sec delays. thanks! doug hey, i was stupid before stupid was cool!

indirect advertising. i havent checked the yellow pages to see if my DZ is in there, but there are no billboards, tv/radio ads, big parties, etc....i heard about them 7 or 8 years ago when i worked at UPS, i saw it on a bumpersticker in the parking lot. havent seen another one since though. also, humorously, our University of Louisville football head coach made a promise that if his team beat the #3 ranked Florida State this year, he would do a tandem jump. Funny enough, we beat them, and his jump was in the papers, on TV news, and UL web pages. Im not sure if it brought any business in though, but surely a jumper here and there....also, i heard some radio call in contest a few months back where as an additional prize to the main prize, the winner got a free tandem jump at our DZ. Im glad to hear the word get out, its a lotta fun that most people probably never seriously consider. doug hey, i was stupid before stupid was cool!

most skydivers i see around the dz seem to be people who downright love life and dont seem to be into things like drinking/drugs/smoking/ etc.....i am curious about the percentages of us divers who do these things; nothing more than my own curiousity. thanks! doug hey, i was stupid before stupid was cool!

im wondering on what i may be told when i go back in a week or so, weather permitting, to the DZ. my last dive was thanksgiving week. i then hurt my back, then i got better but work was dead so i was broke, then i went on vacation. now i am itching to jump. i am a static line student, having done 11 jumps and doing 30 sec delays. will i have to back up and repeat some jumps or will they just drill me and see if i "pass"? i jump in kentucky. thanks! doug hey, i was stupid before stupid was cool!

i think id get a doctors opinion first, and if that passes, ask the DZ if you can pay a fee just to ride the plane up and back down to see how altitude affects you, if it even does. doug hey, i was stupid before stupid was cool!
