  1. I'm not gonna make it this year. Been fighting constant migraines for a month now Somebody make sure to smack Rick Reams on the ass for me? If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  2. This shift is seriously draggin it's ass. Only 18 hours till I'm done and can get on the road to go hang out with a bunch of assholes. Never thought I'd say that and be happy about it instead of sarcastic. If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  3. Speaking as last year's greased cannonball of the group... BRING IT!! If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  4. Wouldn't miss it! I'll be driving down Friday once I get offduty. If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  5. I see the chutingstar account has posted here too, but going to say this anyways... Call their main number and leave them a message. They will definitely call you back. I worked with Laura last year on purchasing a complete (new) rig and I think there was only 1 time I didn't have to leave a message. It was still a smooth experience to work with them. If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  6. You're actually gonna make it this year? Bring it on speed racer!!! I couldn't get out of work thursday, so I'll be driving down when I get offduty friday morning. If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  7. Always wanted to fly but getting my pilot's license is way too expensive so I figured why not jump out of 'em if I can't fly 'em? That, and running into burning buildings doesn't scare my mom any more. Gotta keep her on her toes! If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  8. I bet she'll be in bed before any shenanigans start. The boogie is actually pretty tame for the most part. Well, except for the guys who wear corsets to jump, but that's mostly just disturbing! I'd be way more worried about the 5' inflatable dick than any kind of corsets. If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  9. So, who wants to break the news to him that surviving a malfunction as a tandem student still won't get him that elusive gold statue? If you can't convince them, keep them confused.

    Deep throat...

I had mine out 6 months ago and have no regrets. The first week of healing was easy, then I decided it'd be a great idea to nibble my way through a hamburger. Don't make my mistake! That burger was so damn good, but so not worth it! LOL It took me about 3 weeks before my energy started to really come back. I slept so much and was just physically drained the whole time, probably from the liquid/soft diet. Hope you heal quickly and fully
  11. I flew from Atlanta to LA, and Sacramento to Atlanta with my rig as carryon a few months ago. I just had it in a homemade rigsleeve and dropped it on the conveyor at the TSA checkpoint. Atlanta swabbed the 3-rings and then handed it back to me, Sac didn't care at all. I had my cypress card and a pullup cord just in case (not a rigger, so I'd have argued some about popping the reserve), but it was really a non-event. Your biggest issue, depending on the size of the rig and the size of the aircraft, will be fitting it in overhead storage. If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  12. It's a good thing that nobody ever weighs more than 200 lbs in full battle rattle with a ruck and jump gear then. If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  13. I'm kinda in with this mindset. If nothing else, find out his actual build and consider putting him through ground school with heavy PLF emphasis (throw him in a tandem rig if you have to). If nothing else, send him to a tunnel. He can learn many of the basics, especially stability, and will also learn about his fall rate. If he's a jabba, the tunnel will give him an idea of the level of fitness he'll need. If he's a brick shithouse, it can show him the flexibility he'll need (some muscleheads can't reach the BOC and he can do practice pulls in the tunnel). Either way, as long as he signs the waiver... If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  14. Crappy weather couldn't stop the fun. Plus, ya know, there's always coffee beans... If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  15. What a way to start my day. Michael, thank you for all the conversations we had at Fitz and since then. You made me feel included at the boogie and helped give me confidence for when I returned to my home DZ. Thank you for all the advice, the phone calls, and the laughs. I miss you, you fat floaty bastard. Signed, Fat floaty bastard in training (Tisket) If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  16. Not condoning or condemning handcams, just wanted to say that I've seen TI's that once under canopy, will put the handcam on the student. Personal opinion? If you're going to take a handcam I like that idea. Let the TI get the exit and free fall shots, let the student geek the camera while the TI flies the canopy (without the go pro getting an excellent closeup of the toggles, or a view over the TI's shoulder). It seems like the biggest risk is dropping the camera during the transition from 1 wrist to another. If you can't convince them, keep them confused.

    any gamers here?

PC master race? I'll agree to that, but disagree on the games. I'm perfectly content playing warcraft. aaaaand maybe a little minecraft on the 360 when I'm really bored and need my brain numbed. If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  18. Yet another prime example of why I really really want to get one of the mini airhorn kits and mount it on my bike. I live in a big city and tend to get out of town fast on the bike, but no matter where you go, some drivers will try to bully bikers out of a lane. It may not make a difference, but watching them jump at the air horn will sure make me feel better about it. If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  19. Even with my tiny bit of experience, I've found the best response to "why jump out of a perfectly good airplane" The door was open If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  20. I'll be in Sacramento in a month and am planning to head to Skydance skydiving in Davis, CA to get some jumps in one of the days of my trip. Big brother was 101st many years ago and we're teaming up to scare the shit out of our mom by making her watch her babies go jump out of an airplane (yes, seriously. Anybody wanna shoot video of her freaking out?). My brother hasn't jumped in 20 years and never had any civilian jumps. He will either do a tandem, which he hates the idea of, or sit ground school and do an AFF level 1. If he does ground school, I'll be looking for folks to jump with to kill some time. Who might I run into while I'm there? Anything about the DZ that I should be aware of or make sure to ask about when I ask for a briefing? Can't say which day I'll be at the DZ for sure just yet, but I should know in another week or 2, and it will be the last weekend of May. If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  21. I ordered my main from flight concepts and they will never get another penny out of me. Am I happy with the canopy overall? Yes Am I happy with the ordering process? Absolutely not! I found out after the fact that they knew long before my canopy was slated for completion that it wasn't going to be done on time. They never bothered to tell anybody until Chutingstar called on my behalf to ask. I was told it might be finished in 2 months (they'd rejected a roll of one of the colors I'd chosen and I assume were awaiting a new roll). Roughly a month later, the canopy showed up at Chutingstar with no warning whatsoever. I understand delays happen and quality control is a very valid reason. However, as much as a new canopy costs, I expect a heads-up when 1. the company realizes there will be a delay, and 2. the item has been completed and shipped. Edited to add that my order was placed mid-december 2014 and promised a 6 week turnaround. If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  22. Indeed! I might have started a coffee bean legacy as well... If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  23. I wanna know how that cotton field didn't claim any ankles, especially around the bonfire. I know I certainly had a lot of fun this weekend. If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
  24. We've had pretty good weather at SDA recently, come on down! If you can't convince them, keep them confused.
