  1. I have heard a various stories about the 26 foot round Lopo canopy. Have you jumped that canopy? If so, how was the landing? PLF or standup? How much forward speed did you have? Thanks Looks like a death sandwich without the bread - Steve Deadman Morrell, BASE 174
  2. I was one of the pallbearers for Pete's body. It was so tragic for me too. Pete and I would do this one harmless stunt. Remember this and do this in his memory for Pete. Hair drug tests

I call B.S. on that. Your hair follicles need to respond to something that's in your bloodstream, which means you snorted it, ingested it , or shot it up. OK, I'm sure there has never been a police officer that has ever used cocaine. Saying that you were "handling" the drug is a really lame excuse, and probably an easy pass in the "good ol' boy" network of LEOs. As an example, an old drug dealer friend failed his drug test even though he doesn't do drugs. Just handling coke caused him to fail the psychemedics test. Hair drug tests

I've googled "beat a hair test" and everything that is sold is an overpriced strong shampoo. Reviews indicate that most people fail their test using these shampoos, particularly with the pschemedics hair test. That test is so sensitive that even handling an illegal drug without properly ingesting the substance can cause a positive test result. For example, cops have failed the test for coke since they have to handle bags of coke often. I've removed most of the hair on my body and I've cut my nails down. I'm going to tell the nurse that my gay lovers prefer me to be hairless and sexual orientiation should not be a reason for disqualification from the job. I'm growing a beard in the meantime since it grows rapidly. So does my chest hair so their may be hope. I've even looked at how the hair test is done on a chemical level. A DMSO wash followed by a methanol wash might be able to clean the hair but it would take many hours, along with the harmful exposure to hazardous solvents. The chemicals (at the lab for the hair) now used to extract the substances from the hair cause 3rd degree burns. It's interesting that at least one state, Iowa, has made pre-employment hair tests illegal. And the federal government also has some laws regarding discrimination related to pre-employment hair tests. What sucks is that I could have used drugs legally in some other country months before a job offer. It seems to me that a urine test should be done for pre-employment. I can easily avoid drugs from here on. Looks like a death sandwich without the bread - Steve Deadman Morrell, BASE 174

    Hair drug tests

man, what is strange is that indiscretion of drug use after my father's death may prevent me from a high level science job (no clearance issues, national security issues, dangerous work, etc.). my gosh, why would people be scrutinized to this level, especially for doctoral level scientists? i was laid off many months ago after taking so much time off to deal the parental health problems. poo... I'm nearly hairless now, looking to take some super testron male supplements to promote body hair growth, and wait. Looks like a death sandwich without the bread - Steve Deadman Morrell, BASE 174

    Hair drug tests

1/2 inch on my head but I am balding so hair growth is really, really slow. I've already removed all body hair and I'm trying to get the offer set off by 3 weeks while growing a beard. Looks like a death sandwich without the bread - Steve Deadman Morrell, BASE 174

    Hair drug tests

I am having a pre-employment hair drug test for an awesome job. However, I used some drugs in the week after my father's death a couple months ago (no drugs since or planned in the future) so I don't see how I can pass the test. Anyone here have any luck with passing the test? Shampoos, etc? Looks like a death sandwich without the bread - Steve Deadman Morrell, BASE 174

  11. I weigh about 180 pounds. A triathalon is the best skydiving canopy I've jumped. That would be my preference since I'm already hardwired for a 7 cell. Looks like a death sandwich without the bread - Steve Deadman Morrell, BASE 174
  12. thanks man. i am convinced that i'll die skydiving instead of base if i don't do this right. what do y'all think of getting a Triathalon, big one, maybe 190, to get back into jumping? 9 cells throw me off too much. 13. Yes, I'll have to reinstate my USPA membership. Yes, and at pull time, they would frown on me opening at my normal altitude, 200 feet from terminal velocity, which would be totally reckless given the gear configuration used in skydiving. Thanks for the encouragement y'all. Looks like a death sandwich without the bread - Steve Deadman Morrell, BASE 174
  14. Where can I get a Navigator 220? What kind of canopy is that? thanks Jimmy! Chris Looks like a death sandwich without the bread - Steve Deadman Morrell, BASE 174
  15. Thanks man! Kind of like learning to walk again. Funny thing is that when I go to a DZ, I get a bunch of leeway if they let my jump (despite being a hazard in the sky), when in reality I need to get back to student status (and mindfully be humble) so I don't get hurt or cut someone off in a landing pattern. It's bewildering dealing with a million fast canopies all over the place on landing. And then everyone looks at you weird when you PLF a ZP canopy, hug everyone around you, tell tall tales, drink a beer, and run to the car! cheers Chris Looks like a death sandwich without the bread - Steve Deadman Morrell, BASE 174

  17. This may seem kind of strange. I started skydiving 20 years ago - April 1991, static line. But I got into base (>600 base jumps, 100 skydives) not long after that and stopped skydiving. I've lost interest in base activity and want to get back into skydiving. The two activities have commonalities but they also have a lot of differences. What would you recommend for me to get current again (other than just do it)? A first jump course might even be appropriate but maybe training jumps? The concept of zp canopies, congested landing patterns, etc. seem a bit overwhelming and I want to continue jumping for a long time. y'all have some suggestions for me to get back to this beautiful sport that I'm out of date for? thanks Chris Looks like a death sandwich without the bread - Steve Deadman Morrell, BASE 174
  18. Hogan's lawsuit is regarding Cheryl's jump project that never came to fruition due to a lack of adequate funding. Looks like a death sandwich without the bread - Steve Deadman Morrell, BASE 174
  19. How fast did he go? I would think we are close to supersonic. The jet I fly is doing .78 at 45,000' at 280 KIAS. I would think a competent speed skydiver could do that... Shame we may not find out for a while. A lot of good people put hard work into this. Maximum speed would be Mach 0.5 to 0.6 for an exit from 80000 feet is what is experienced by a jumper in a flat and stable position. 21. The team is highly interested in taking this further than just the record jump. The science and engineering are advancing noticeably in this attempt. I can't say any more about it though. I attempted to garner support to do the jump back in the 1990s but I was terrible at raising money. I don't care who gets it, but someone needs to break the record and define what is and what is not safe for doing this jump in a repeatable fashion. Imagine space diving as a recreational activity, albeit an expensive one. Looks like a death sandwich without the bread - Steve Deadman Morrell, BASE 174

  24. I am the scientist volunteering to do the work on the sonic transition problem. There are a large number of people working in the background to make this sort of jump a safe reality. Imagine if the science of doing it was understood well enough that instead of going out to a DZ and making an exotic jump at 30000 feet that you could make a jump from more than 100000 feet. Does anyone here know who Dan Hogan is? Was he Cheryl Stearns squeeze? Hogan wanted to settle out of court for millions of dollars but Red Bull didn't want to do that out of the fear of other lawsuits. 25. In America, lawyers rule. http://www.wired.com/autopia/2010/10/red-bull-cancels-stratos/ Is this the same Hogan guy who was was hooked up with Cheryl Stearns. Cheryl was interested in making the world's highest skydive (>103000 feet) but she never got that project off the ground.
