I have been jumping at this dz for the past 5 years. It changed ownership in 2009 to a not so fun jumper friendly dzo. In 2011 that changed and Lake Wales is back! There is a great vibe on the dz for everyone. If you are coming to Florida for a winter break this is a great place to visit. There is a bunkhouse on the property if you need a place to stay and a campground if you travel with your home. The dz is adding new amenities as it grows so call if your questions are specific.

I am a seventh grade teacher and the students I work with have made holiday cards for people who are fighting for our country, families whos loved ones are over seas, and soldiers who are injured who have served our country. Since most people I know are skydivers, and many have served, I thought this may be the best place to ask. If you know of a place I could send these cards I would greatly appreciate it. Please email me the address if you know where these cards could warm some hearts. I will have at least 1000 cards to mail so there is plenty to go around. We are manifesting for shuttle jumps this Sunday at the Florida skydiving center. If you would like to join us please call Lake Wales airport at 863-678-1003 on Sunday. Jumpers need to be at the airport by 1:00pm for briefing on Monday. Life doesn't have to be perfect in order to be beautiful!

Here is the final happenings for the reopening boogie. Because it was a bit last minute we were not able to get any special aircraft so we have taken away the registration fee. There will be no discounted jumps or free dinner but organizing will still take place. We will still have a catered dinner but it will be pay if you want it. There may be a balloon but call the dz first if you're counting on it. There will be an extremly friendly atmosphere, as Lake Wales always has, and it will be a ton of fun. Our dz is mainly a tandem operation because it is located in a tourist town in Mexico. There are not many jumpers around unless you come to Carlos and Charlies. We land on a public beach, which is absolutely beautiful, but in view of the public all the time. We are in the middle of our boogie right now and have about 50 fun jumpers down here now. Fun jumpers are welcome all the time however, but things are really fun right now! Life doesn't have to be perfect in order to be beautiful!

Wanted to clear up a rumor about a fatality that did not happen at Skydive Ixtapa. I work manifest at Skydive Ixtapa and last Monday we had a tandem cut away. A local reporter assummed it was a fatality and put it in the local paper. Our DZO is trying to correct the rumor and the reporter is writing a public apology. We have been told that the news went state side and we would like your help clearing it up. To let everyone know the instructor and student landed safely in the landing area after the cut away. Please if you hear of this, let the truth be told. Everyone is okay, well except maybe the wound that has been given to our dz. Thanks! I am so happy to see the positive response the boogie is getting this year. There are almost 100 people registered so far!!! When someone goes to SDC and is planning on picking up Hector's logbook. Or Hector if you do it yourself, it is in Sparky's locker. I am sometimes at CSC but Sparky is almost always working with tandems at SDC. We will not be there the 16th (this Saturday) but will be back on Sunday. Thanks! I am now beginning to learn more about models and so forth. Thanks to everyone for holding my hand I was told I would want a wide angle lens is this what I should be looking at? VCL-0625S wide angle lens brings everyone into the picture with 0.6x magnification for Handycam® camcorders. I am assuming that it will fit an older model if I decided on that, am i right about that? CCD-TRV338 Hi8™ Handycam® Camcorder CCD-TRV338 Does anyone know anything about this one? I searched the Sony site for HC 20, 30, and 40 and it gave me nothing. Will this one fit into a helmet? Before I get any further into this I would just like everyone to know that I have close to 400 jumps, a C license, and am just getting started into the world of flying camera. I would like to start filming video only but have no knowledge of cameras. I have checked out the sony site but don't know much about the things I am reading. I would like to start by filming the fun jumps I make for personal/DZ use. I would eventually like to start making money with it but not until I gain more experience. I have flown lurking a few tandems and plan on doing more before strapping a camera to my head and going out to watch them. Most HMO's cover it fully with very few questions asked. I am a teacher and pay nothing but a monthly premium for it. It does depend on your insurance however. Diabetes affects everyone differently. I have been grounded many days cause of bs levels. I rather have me and my friends see many more blue skies than make one stupid decision. I know plenty of people with fridges if you need. I will most likely be at the tent run by Chicagoland skydiving center if you need to find me.
