  1. NWFlyer, yep, I think that's going to be the plan. :)
  2. Thanks skytribe. I'm definitely in no rush to downsize or fly something I shouldn't be. I injured myself on AFP jump #1 and was out for a few months, so I plan to stay away from the hospital for a bit.
  3. No, I get it. I appreciate the advice, it's just a bummer. Now I know I've gotta think more seriously about selling the canopy!
  4. Well, I relied on the advice on my instructors and the fit of the container (and didn't base the decision on price alone).
  5. Thanks Evan. My instructors didn't have any concerns, but I've definitely thought about selling it and getting something closer to what I've been flying, which isn't a big deal. The container was the selling point on this rig....only 3 jumps on it, and it fits like a glove.
  6. I just bought my first rig (woo hoo!) and got a great deal on an almost-new container with a used Jedei 170 main. The rental gear I've been using is a Pilot 168 main. I haven't been able to find a whole lot of information on Jedei canopies, so I'm wondering what anyone's experiences have been with them (openings, responsiveness, flaring, etc.)? Thanks in advance!!
  7. Thank you for posting this! Glad to hear you are back up in the sky and your first few jumps went well! I'm very new to skydiving but I injured myself landing my first AFP jump. I've been out for about a month and a half (which is not too long), but I sometimes debate whether I should pursue this, out of fear of getting hurt again. It's motivating to hear that you had the courage to go back, and I'm hoping to do the same very soon. :)
  8. Thanks for your advice! I'm definitely trying to focus on the positive, and everyone at my DZ has been encouraging. I plan to wear a brace for awhile...as you said, I think it will make me feel more confident. :)
  9. Hi! I'm a new AFP student from Minnesota....after doing a total of six tandems I decided that skydiving was something I needed to pursue, and I'm really excited to get into the sport. I completed the FJC about a month ago and did AFP #1 a few days later. Everything went great in the air but unfortunately I ended up messing up the landing and injuring myself (a bad sprained ankle). I'm anxious (and a bit scared) to do AFP #2 but I hope to be able to finish my A license this year. I'm really excited to be part of this community. :)
