  1. A P3 that fits perfectly is the way to go in my opinion, rather than spend the extra money on something new. P3s are great first wingsuits and are fun to fly. Save the money and spend it on jump tickets.
  2. I'm just going from memory, no Flysight data or anything, so take what I say with a grain of salt since it's all opinion. I'd recommend doing a demo of the canopies if you can so you can see what style you like better. The Tesla I jumped was a size bigger than the Crossfire3 but felt more aggressive and divey. Definitely treat both canopies with respect though, and work with a qualified canopy coach if possible.
  3. I've jumped both. I'm not a swooper so I can't comment on the recovery arc really. Crossfire3 openings are "set it and forget it", whereas you have to actively fly the Tesla's openings. Tesla is very harness sensitive. Much more so than the Crossfire3. Front riser pressure is very high in my opinion on both the Crossfire3 and the Tesla. Higher than my Crossfire2. Very strong flare on both canopies. Crossfire3 felt very similar to my Crossfire2 overall, but that may be due to both being loaded at 1.4.
  4. Does anyone have a contact email for Alter? Or maybe one of their retailers? I tried the email on the website, no reply yet. Also tried several Facebook messages, no reply.
  5. Bueller? Bueller? I too am interested in opinions from those who have flown the Crossfire3. Hoping to try one out for myself soon.
  6. Same here, even though my reason isn't just eye contact. I had an accident/hard landing that broke my sunglasses. The force of the impact + the broken plastic sunglasses cut my forehead open. 0/10 do not recommend.
  7. If you plan on wingsuiting, I'd make sure whatever pilot chute you get has a "wingsuit length" bridle (9+ feet). Plenty of people wingsuit with regular pilot chutes with no problem, including those in large/advanced wingsuits. I know one person with a Sky Snatch who feels the improvement in his openings was worth it. If you want to treat yourself to a Sky Snatch that's cool, they're great pilot chutes and I love mine. But if you'd rather save the $80 that's the price of several jump tickets.
  8. I have one on my wingsuit rig. I love it for wingsuiting, but for ordinary belly/freefly/etc I wouldn't spend the extra money. Just my $0.02
  9. Highly recommend. Intrudair was very responsive when I had questions. Arrived on time. Fit is perfect and the suit looks and flies great. I actually find it to be a great suit for casual belly flying too and I'm tempted to order a DBC shorty for the summer!
  10. On the 9 jumps I made with it so far, the Alter was displaying the same altitudes as my Viso 2 on the ride up, during freefall, and under canopy. I'll PM you the email address an Alter rep replied from when I asked about shipping. A HUD project sounds awesome! Good luck!
  11. I got my Alter altimeter and mudflap mount, jumped it over the 3 day weekend, and I must say I absolutely love this altimeter. I usually jump with multiple altimeters and from what I've seen, the Alter is just as accurate as my Viso 2. I've struggled to find a digital altimeter I can read on a left mudflap mount under canopy. I've run into issues where there was glare, or the angle of the mount made it difficult to read. The Alter + its mudflap mount have solved this problem for me. Very easy to read, 4 digit display, plus the mount is plastic and seems much safer than metal in case of an ugly landing or collision in freefall. I'm a fan! I may order a second Alter for my other rig as an early Christmas present to myself.
  12. You can sometimes find used N3As in places like the Facebook page "Skydiving Gear for sale and wanted". I found a used N3A there last year and I love it. It requires headphones though, but I haven't found that to be a problem. I have also heard that Flysights can be adapted to read the altitude out loud during freefall, however, I am not familiar with how to do that.
  13. The forecast looks AMAZING for the boogie. If you were waiting it out, come out and jump with the SISters this weekend!
  14. Copied from the FB event, organizers listed so far: Brandy Coats - freefly Judy Babb Welker - rw Karen Blanks - rookie skills camp
  15. can dirty old men come and watch the bad ass girls skydive ? For a small fee! Looking forward to this one! I'm bringing my Ms. Potato Head and hula hoop for even more freefall shenanigans.
  16. I've put around 100 jumps and 2ish hours of tunnel time on my Kurupee freefly suit. It has held up very well and looks great. I've received lots of compliments on how it looks. I ordered it in early 2015 and received it on time. I was curious if I would receive it on time for a boogie I was going to, so I tried to call the phone number listed on the website but it was incorrect. Not sure if they've fixed that since then. But I emailed, and got a helpful reply the next day. This suit is perfect for someone like me, learning to freefly and getting some tunnel time here and there.
  17. I'm a newer jumper (started jumping in 2014) and I'm sad I never got to attend a WFFC.
  18. Welcome!! Tahiti is paradise on earth. What a wonderful place to skydive! I've been to Moorea and Bora Bora. I didn't get to jump, but I really wish I could have! I still sometimes randomly want to greet people with "ia orana" and part with "mauruuru!" Such friendly and lovely people in French Polynesia.
  19. If they would open a tunnel near New Orleans, I would tell my boss to just send my paychecks there.
