  1. Well under $1000, but I did static line. For AFF, about 2500-3000 seems normal.

It would appear that more people drink alcohol to catch a buzz, get drunk, or get totally trashed and those with serious problems are more likely to drink alcohol ...

I never said they didn't and made no claims that could be interpreted as such. Your post is totally irrelevent as to whether marijuana is harmful or harmless.

As are yours. You have provided absolutely no independent studies to support any of your claims.

  5. This is what I got from My sister-in-law

"So far, Tom (AKA: Dualhawk) has done 3 jumps. Tonight will be jump #4.

#1 was a solo jump from 18,000 ft.
#2 was a tandem with a local sherpa from 22,000 ft. First tandem jump ever at Everest.
#3 was a tandem with a client from 30,000 ft!

#4 will be another tandem jump from 30,000 ft."

(I believe that this jump has happened, as I got the e-mail a couple of days ago)

    NICE JOB NOONAN

  11. When is someone truly a skydiver?

When you have made over 1000 posts on Dropzone.com. Thats when your a real skydiver. It doesn't even matter if you have less than 100 jumps to your name.

Didn't you say that jumping out of airplanes was a waste of energy?
    ___________________________________________________________

Bill, do you honestly think that I'm lumping fun jumping, which is what I'm talking about, with a training program that incorporates jumping. If so then you are missing the point.

My point is and has been that if you jump for fun, then you are wasting energy that does not need to be wasted. It doesn't matter what one does in the rest of their life, during that time when you are jumping out of a plane, or rather riding up to altitude, you are wasting energy that doesn't need to be wasted.

Anyway, I'm going to back out of this exchange in the public fourm. I wlould be happy to talk to you more in pm. I would be very interested in learning more of your energy saving techniques that you employ as some of them seem very interesting.

    Thanks for your time.

  15. I never mentioned that one needs to keep their house at 75 F to stay warm, but in certain climates one does need heat to sustain life.

By your criteria - so have you. The difference is that I am willing to do something about it, because I think that's the right thing to do.

How do you know there is a difference. How do you know what I am willing to do to save energy. Please don't make assumptions when you don't even know me.

Also where in my post did you come up with the idea that training Navy SEALs is a waste of energy.

P.S. I apologize if it came across that I was calling you a hypocrite. That was not my intent.

  16. Call bullshit all you want.

Wearing clothes, or using heat to keep you warm is not in the same ballpark as skydiving.

Skydiving is a PURE waste of energy. Pepople do not need to skydive to live. However people do need cloths, warmth, and sometime cool air to live. That is the difference. when someone heats their house so as not to freeze, that is not a waste of fuel. When someone jumps out of a plane for their own amusement, that is a WASTE of energy. It does not matter that the person is environmentally responsible in the rest of their life. that person is still wasting fuel.

You can spin it anyway you want, but you still are or have wasted alot of fuel for you own enjoyment.
