not really until you step up to a Petra or Peregrine. velocity openings aren't that bad once you learn to fly the openings. if you are looking for a swoop canopy go velocity, comp velo, leia, #notavelo(new pd leia match), petra or peregrine. if you want a xbraced canopy for after freefall time go jfx or jvx or even a xaos. but with those three you will not have the speed or power of the others. in my opinion. also the 5cell xbraced canopy is already out there and it's the matrix2 by nzaero. it was made for crw but there is talk of one for wingsuiting.

are you thinking of the Matrix 2? that is a 5cell cross braced canopy for crw.

the problem is your rig not the helmet. your rig should not choke you on or after opening.

Airlock canopy from the 90's. More advanced canopy then the Pilot. Have fun on windy days with the airlocks.

February 1983 Soaring Magazine to be specific. Well that was interesting. That mysterious new skydiving planform explained -- just a planform I've seen on sailplanes for decades. Basically has the benefits of an elliptical planform for spanwise lift distribution, but tapering the leading only, with some benefits in terms of airflow (specifically, trailing edge separation and crosswise flow). But actually applying it on parachutes is a newer thing, and takes a little more thought given that we jumpers tend to hang somewhere under the leading edge, making the geometry more complex than when designers would taper the trailing edge a lot and the leading edge just a little. Paragliders and speedflying canopies seemingly have been big on that style planform for a lot longer than it has been seen in skydiving. but but nz created it and pd stole it. didn't you read the op?

Dumb question: How does anyone know that it is a PD ad? I must admit that I did not look at it too long. I don't have time to play games and guess what the advertisement is about. They wasted their money on me, but then again, I'm not the kind of person waiting around for the Next Cool Thing. hard to see in this photo but there is a pd and skull at the bottom.

First where did he find a 89 velo? Second is he getting coaching, doing hop n pops, wingloading it correctly? Are his 180's part of a progression to a bigger turn? If so then good on him. If not, say something to the dzo or s&ta.

it's for timing speed runs not just seeing if they made the entry gates. time starts when entry gate it triggered and time stops when the exit gate is triggered.

jump mine terminal all the time but the other day i lost my dbag and pc from the swivel breaking. anyone using something other than a swivel?

just throwing out another option since you mentioned gas twice. Stc has free camping too and a turbine. wissota is a fun dz, nothing wrong with it, besides no turbine.
