https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10153091837411469&pnref=story This thing keeps amazing me with it's power and range. So much at the bottom end of the flare. I didn't think I was going to stand this one up.

nope not stock. since my first post, i have put another 6 jumps on it. still learning but loving it more every jump. i've done 4 jumps with a regular slider and 4 with full rds now and all the openings have been awesome, one the slider hung up for a second but it was packing, leave nose exposed.

Is there anything wrong with: modern Javelin and freeflying?
dqpacker replied to skydiverek's topic in Gear and Rigging
Nope nothing wrong. Main reasons are from older javelins around the time freeflying got popular and other rig companies spreading rumors while trying to sell their rigs. Some of the best freeflyers in the world fly Javelins. -
Haha! top skin is red, bottom lime green with black xbrace and ribs/tail ribs.

First my info. 2000 solo canopy flights. Coming from a Velocity 96 loaded at 2.7, haven't jumped any other xbraced canopies besides a 103 velocity, 90% of my skydives have been focused on swooping or high performance canopy flight. Not sponsored and I don't compete. Now on a Valkyrie 96. I only made 2 jumps on mine because the weather has been shit but it was awesome. Openings were better than a velocity. Tons of range and power. Can't wait to fly it more and fly it harder. https://vimeo.com/120315122

World Record at Oshkosh Airshow?
dqpacker replied to dqpacker's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Anyone know anything about this? My guess is a Crw record? Or it won't happen at all. http://www.eaa.org/en/airventure/eaa-airventure-news-and-multimedia/eaa-airventure-news/2015-eaa-airventure-oshkosh/01-22-2015-airventure-to-host-world-record-sky-diving-attempts -

Can your student get their feet up for landing?
dqpacker replied to k2skydiver's topic in Tandem Skydiving
wow talk about slander. i'm a fairly new TI and have only jumped UPT, so you could say i'm biased, but i haven't had a problem yet with the student getting there legs up or having a tall student's head in my way. you just sound angry. maybe it's because you are french or maybe you're mad bill came up with a better system? i don't know but i bet it makes bill smile reading your post. -
Really? Did you forget a zero on that number? Sunday i had a big vulture cruise with me during a tandem at about 2000 feet and have seen them higher.
-
Don't be "That Guy" that doesn't say anything to him after the jump or to the S&TA about it and post it anonymously online thinking that will fix the problem.

1. mid april to end of october is the season for STC but Chip Falls jumps all year out of 182s. 2. This last couple years the fun jumper numbers have been going up with a strong freefly and angle scene growing and as always a strong belly rw group. they have one of Spacelands super fast caravans and you won't get bumped for tandems. STC also has a huge trailer park that is full fun jumpers every weekend rain or shine. 3. as i said above ChipFalls in wisconsin jumps all year when their runway is good to fly on, grass strip. folks also go up to Soup but weather up there can be iffy with the big lake but awesome views.

Who designed Velo/Pregriene/Petra/VX?
dqpacker replied to stayhigh's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
well pd copied everything nz has ever made. so they designed everything. -
This is a repost of your own post, guessing of your own video. I'll give you the credit for it being some amazing flying but it's not skydiving and a repost.

I think people are awfully confused about what the schuemann (don't forget the 'e') planform is about... Hint: Forget about the nose, it is all about the tail and reducing wingtip vortices. Once you round the tail at all, you no longer have a Schuemann planform. Simple. The photo attached clearly show the tail (of Valkyrie) has been rounded much like the tail of this 9 cell no x brace thing. A true Schuemann planform will have a tail that is either completely straight or slightly swept back. For those that are interested here is an article about it written by the man himself. http://spieltek.com/sunbirdsoaring/soaringarticle/schuemannwingplanformarticle.pdf Do PD actually claim this is a Schuemann planform canopy? I am sure it is a great canopy but not a Schuemann planform at all... This is a better photo,http://performancedesigns.com/images/galleries/valkyrie/content/_MG_9515_large.html but still not perfectly straight, could be photo angle or input on the canopy or it's tapered at the end cells.
