  1. Lol. Beer is taken pretty seriously. My cousin is a Brewmaster in Austin, so I'm bringing a bunch of his White Rabbit (http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/10284/100701/). I'll stop and get some GA brews and boiled peanuts too, though. If anyone in TX needs a ride, lemme know.
  2. I'm definitely interested in the chopper and balloon. I'll be bringing lots of beer
  3. Thanks! I haven't asked anyone yet, but I'll see if I can get some folks to come along.
  4. ~210, but I did everything on the DS checklist a couple times, except for the downwinder; I only did that once. I also live in TX, so I haven't been to a DZ with incline/declines. I should have mentioned that I'm not technically un-current but I'm not as current as I'd like to be. I've only made it out there a handful of times these last few months

  6. I've never stopped yearning to skydive, but I haven't been cranking out jumps like I should have this last 6 months. I only have ~120 jumps, but my goal is to hit 225 before spring and get my WS! I lost ~35lbs, so I'm switching from my Pulse 190 to a Pilot 168 and, hopefully, I can jump it this weekend! Looking forward to getting back into the community and trying out some new dropzones! Blue Skies, -Chris
  7. I started AFF here and, at first, I didn't think I was cut out for skydiving. I didn't realize how difficult it could be to fall... I just couldn't get stable. The instructors gave me great advice that has never failed me, I finally got the hang of things, and finished AFF without a scratch ;). I must say that Hank(Henry Prewitt) is an amazing person. He really went out of his way to make sure I felt comfortable and safe from the moment I arrived. No matter what stupid shit I pulled out of ignorance, he and/or the other instructors helped me through it without tearing my head off or making me feel like an idiot. The staff really goes the extra mile to ensure customers are having a friggin' great time. The world would be a better place if there were more people like these guys. I only have 31 jumps and I learn something new or actually grasp a concept I had previously been taught every time I go out there. Not to mention, whether you're doing AFF or Tandem, you'll feel surprisingly safe because the vast plethora of knowledge & sheer amount of experience these guys(&gals) have is astonishing and they'll readily share it with you. I'm out there almost every weekend & I've never seen a Tandem/AFF student that wasn't smiling ear to ear after their jump. Aside from all the fun, jokes, and drinking(after hours of course), SAFETY is put first and everybody looks out for one another. Oh, and if you're a fun jumper, the packers & pilot are awesome. I haven't been to any other DZ, but I've heard numerous stories from fun jumpers that this is the place to be because the atmosphere, packers, and people are their favorites. I've been going out there for ~4 months & I've never been maltreated or given bad information. I guess you could say I've become a bit obsessed with going out to SSM and skydiving :P
  8. Looks nice! How quiet is it? I'm looking at getting one, but I'm wondering if it's worth the dinero. I want something that'll protect my dome and fit an audible. Are there any other choices out there that might better suit my needs? I haven't seen very many reviews on this new fuel and I'm debating between it or another good open face and the g3. Everyone seems to love their g3's. Can you take the visor off the g3 and fly it like an open face?
