  1. Weekend before last I dropped my helmet in the mud and took out my dytter to wash the helmut up. Well I handed my dytter to a friend and 10 minutes later I get it back from him put it back in my helmut and dirtdive a 15 way. Get on the plane...go to altitude get out and the dive is going great we turn all our points and are just holding the formation...all of a sudden I hear my 1500 alarm going off just whirling away...I quickly look at my altimeter...6000 ft...hmmm look at everyone else in jump they were all calm and collected look at ground and it still small. I just figure battery was going dead or something. I land return to packing area and ask some guys standing around if that was a sympton of a dead battery and they all just look at me but my friend has this grin on his face....He had set all three sirens to 6000 feet so of course...the lowest one prevails....fun fun fun. Everyone got a good laugh out of it including me...Friend said my face was hysterical. Chip
  2. Looks like it would be easy to strike the tail....Never seen one in person just the pics yall put up....looks like the tail is awfully low? Is this a problem with this plane? Chip
  3. Super lucky..damn.... I downsized to a 150...didnt even initiate any turn onto final.....came straight in...dropped a toggle as I began to flare..couldnt get hands onto rear risers quick enough and hit the ground with no flare....broken femur..torn ligament and compressed vertebrae, L-5.... just luck verses unlucky I guess.. Glad you came out so lucky and didnt get hurt very much....take care of yourself. Chip
  4. Sounds like the jumpers in the group ahead of you were opening higher? is this true? Deployment altitude is important also. Chip
  5. Hey DJL If you sent an email to the address I have listed it is the wrong one....My email address is now [email protected] I am off to fix that problem now...Like I said in my email..I dont have any equipment. Sometimes I can borrow some on the dz. ttyl Chip
  6. Just wanted to see where all our CRW Jumpers come from. and of course I am always looking for someone to jump with in VA...anyone from VA out there. I guess it would be easier if I had my own gear...lol but doesnt seem like an easy thing to find people who want to do crw all the time...I think I could handle doing CRW the majority of the time instead of RW..lol.. I only have a handful of CRW jumps, all on prodigys TTYL Chip
  7. Broke my left Femur, compressed vertebrae L 5 and partially tore a ligament in left knee on jump # 198. I now have a rod in my left leg with 4 screws, 2 in top 2 in bottom. Nothing quite like having a leg and back injury at same time as lots of you know. I dropped a toggle as I began to flare. Dropped other toggle and reached for rear riser to flare, as soon as my hands hit rear riser my feet hit the ground and I bounced and rolled up into a pile on the ground. This happened on Feb 2nd. jumped this sunday august 18th. Went back to my larger tri 190
  8. I would have to say the dumbest thing I have done is to stand in the back of my friends pickup truck going about 40 mph and the bright idea to moon the person behind us...luckily a friend....I proceed to pull my pants down around my knees and his truck downshifted(automatic)...the backs of my knees catch the tail gate and toss me over....now I am hanging upside down by the tailgate like haning on monkey bars as a kid....I then lose grip and fall off...40 mph impact to the ground..first thing to hit..BACK of the HEAD...then bare ass then head...over and over again...friend behind us said all he saw was sparks flying off my body. Well needless to say I had horrible road rash on my head and ass...worst pain in the world was getting in the shower...Oh the pain was undescribable. luckily it was on a friday because I couldnt wear clothes for the next couple days. Free Bags are expensive..LOL
  9. I thought the pic was was pretty good. I thought the same thing when I saw people jumping. It would be a good day to be a base jumper with your rig at work. He made light of a bad situation. If anyone here is a psychology major they should know that the human brain uses humor to make it through bad situations. If someone lost family in this I am sure he isnt laughing at them. This is a very very sad thing that happened. I wish everyone the best and pass out my condolences to all the families. Free Bags are expensive..LOL
  10. Microlines and Crw Dont mix. I wouldnt reccomend combining them together can lead to missing body parts....LOL Free Bags are expensive..LOL

    crw coach

I am looking for a crw coach! I need someone who can do crw coaching on the weekends in virginia...I live in richmond so any dropzone near there would most likely be ok...My home dz is in Suffolk. Our crw coach there can really only teach during the week but I have to work then. So any crw coaches in the va area that want to pick up a student please give me a shout. Free Bags are expensive..LOL

I fall pretty quickly myself...I was always going low on formations...I can actually float now and have a pretty good range...just have to harness it...lol....I bought a regular tony suit...find somone who knows how to do the sizing and works with tony suit..they can slow you down..they did me...got a regular tony suit with there new material brushed poly cotton in the arms and body and cordora on the knees and down....they add the extra material needed to slow you down and knew what they were doing...youc an always have swoop cords added to really get you back up....good luck Chip Free Bags are expensive..LOL

Wait till you jump out of an ultralight at 3000 feet...into dead air....What a feeling...Hop n Pops should be no problem now that I have done this. I like flying my canopy so these are ok by me. Chip Free Bags are expensive..LOL
