  1. With your jumps numbers I'm of the opinion it is unwise to be jumping two different rigs.
  2. I have never seen anyone hyperventilate in their sleep. Just saying. Well played indeed. But the adrenaline and cortisol keep me awake. Its fight or flight the whole way up. I just could not imagine sleeping on the way up, seems like such a high stress environment. Funny, the excitement of new jumpers. I am bored to the point of yawning most of the time although I don't sleep. A fully loaded Otter with all it's seat belts in use is a boring ride up. Although I've always disliked flying, recently a caravan I was on was flying above, below, and then back up behind a impressive fast moving cloud front... that was enjoyable it made it more exciting.
  3. This pilot was happy wearing his. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7p6hqMnsLFY
  4. You're right. from 2013, new to me. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4508332;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread
  5. Not so nice demo into a stadium. See incident thread "Brazil" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LA_RpAPubzQ
  6. You can worry about that. To me it looks like a "STUNT" Not to be outdone by the next "STUNT"
  7. Oddball request actually but here goes. News reports which are generally inaccurate do in fact list the companies involved, nearly always. Due to the inaccuracies of "news" stories that type of inaccurate information is not complied in that manner here. Google is your friend.
  8. I would have liked to have gone skydiving last weekend but my girlfriend wanted to have sex for two straight days. I'm getting tired of the way she treats me.
  9. without going into detail about all of the many things I consider unsafe I'll say this, it looks ok to me because I am not the one doing.
  10. Other than the weather it looked like fun.
  11. If it was a hobby such as any other adult hobby I would agree. But I've always viewed it more importantly as life saving equipment first, sports equipment second. I have also seen a hodgepod of mismatched gear and other items sold to newbies which I'd consider junk and not bother with myself. There is no ethics in used gear sales. Anybody will sell you anything and tell you how wonderful it is. Your viewpoint is your viewpoint and if your comfortable with it fine. However I have seen a lot of newbie jumpers hurt with used gear. I don't think of it as a "New Car" I think of it as the state of the art medical treatment your going to want once an injury occurs. Also industry veterans always promote used shitty mismatched gear as being perfectly acceptable. Their vested interest is in fact a conflict of interests. I once chopped and was without a main to jump and the offers of substitute used replacement gear from "somebody" with something to sell really proved to me my safety was less of a concern than the money they needed for something I thought was not suitable and didn't want to hurt myself jumping. I'd buy a used car to save money. Not equipment I am going to trust with my life. I've also seen actual injuries as a result of unsuitable gear, and many newbies jump gear I thought were accidents waiting to happen.
  12. I never received instruction on how to pack a main parachute. I read the manual, packed it several times, jumped it 3 or 4 weeks later. It opened fine.
  13. With only 7 jumps I'd recommend the used Pulse, and also order the Sabre2. This way when you chop the Pusle ands lose it you'll have a back-up main in the pipeline for when you have more jumps.
  14. Using different packers at different DZ's I am seeing a few different methods used. From the top and from the bottom, with the bottom method at times the kill line for the pilot chute is not displayed. The best method I've found so far displays that the pilot chute is cocked but it likes to turns the pin sideways. Any solutions? other than continue to pack it this way?
  15. I never considered this before... I'll have to give it a try next time though. Thanks.

  17. I remember, I remember when I lost my mind. Ever since I was little it looked like fun. But maybe I'm crazy. Maybe you're crazy. Maybe we're crazy. Probably...
  18. Normally most new jumpers flare too high and then stall their canopy landing hard. I am somewhat confused because I don't understand the context of this otherwise. Normally for me I've flared my canopy into a stall and my feet are either running or I am sliding into third base at this point. I'm thinking it means fly your canopy for all it's worth until you've actually landed and not before 20 feet above the ground.... a mistake many newbies make by fearing the ground, their canopy and their judgement of their landing... I may be mistaken but others can always correct me.
  19. ...actually it's because Elsinore has sofa's everywhere.
  20. Depending on your wing loading it's going to be faster. What is your rush and have you jumped a Sabre2 135 yet?
  21. Are there going to be many people at this boogie this year?
  22. Thank you for the great information. I never involve myself in this aspect of manifest/flight operations. I mostly look for planes below and always see the DZ or my relationship to it below.
  23. Where is this? I want to bring my hookers!
