  1. Last winter, we climbed a 95 meter (around 310ft) freestander in -28 celcius (-18 or -19 F) weather. Climbing was good, if only it wasn't for that 20 minutes we had to wait for the police patrol to move from below the A, while we were half way up the ladder. Didn't get caught, didn't freeze, had a nice jump, twas all good. /AV P.s. Hyvä et lähettii Life is smiling, so why wouldn't I? :)
  2. The first one I had to do was a beer cooler... ... I've never really progressed after that. Go figure Life is smiling, so why wouldn't I? :)

    Houston (Tx) locals

Thank you Dave, Chris and John for a great time in Houston. I really enjoyed the time with you guys, running up and down that ladder in a fear of getting busted I hope we can meet again, in your playground or somewhere in Europe... Be Safe, /Antti Life is smiling, so why wouldn't I? :)

    Houston (Tx) locals

I'm attending a seminar in Houston from 18th to 21st (monday to thursday next week) and as I do not know that many jumpers from the states I would like to meet and get aquainted. Getting a jump in would be a nice bonus /Antti Life is smiling, so why wouldn't I? :)
  7. I'm going for a holiday in the Garda Lake area from 13. to 19. March. I was thinking I would like to visit the famous wall during my stay there. Even though I'm not very experienced BASE jumper, I'm hoping I could make a couple of jumps too. So far I have 7 jumps, out of which 6 are in Kjerag and one is a 150m A. I have 450 skydives, mostly freeflying, wingsuit and tracking. I also have 10 - 12 (don't remember exactly) jumps from a balloon. Any locals out there, who would take a chance on a newbie? I do understand and accept that my experience level might be too low for the site, but I wouldn't know if I didn't ask.
  8. Nothing special, just thought I'd share. Had a wonderfull day yesterday, jumping from a hot-air-balloon. The weather was about perfect for that kind of activity. Blue sky, and the sun was shining. Temperature -5 degrees centigrade (about 24 F).
  9. Or was it the Squid Crew, I don't quite remember... However the team was in the famous Norwegian wall in June this year. He photographed quite many jumps and landing performances, including one of my first ever basejumps. I would like to contact him to see if eny of the pictures of me was any good. U know, good "I love me" -material is allways appreciated. Life is smiling, so why wouldn't I? :)
  10. Hi Ville! You should bring the gear to the rigging loft and talk to either Nipa or Hantta about changing the harness, they have enough experience to tell you exactly what to do.
  11. I also took the course this summer, and I can only recommend it. During the course you will get site-specific information and practise exits in the world famous pendulator. (it will be practised untill you get it right)
  12. My deepest condolencies to family and friends. /Aave

    Finally did it [:)]

I did indeed do my first ever BASEjump from Kjerag (exit 6, "springboard"). First I took the jumpcourse that concentrates on terminal wall jumping. Elin held the course and she is a great teacher and a very nice person, not to mention very beautiful girl. Elin complemented me on good solid exits and tracking that was enough to get me well away from the cliff. I practised for the jump beforehand by making 0-speed exits from a hot air balloon and prepared myself mentally by talking to several BASE jumpers in Finland. I also managed to make a test jump with a base-canopy in a skydiving gear. The preparation took about 2 years. As for the trip, we had reserved two weeks for the trip, so that we could get atleast some jumps in, even though some of the days were bad. Lysebotn is a wery amazing place, cause it is in the middle of huge mountains, the scenery is breathtaking and the people there are just incredibly friendly and helpfull. I can't wait to get back there Life is smiling, so why wouldn't I? :)

    Finally did it [:)]

After 2 years of thinking things through, talking to people and practising I finally took the course and did my first BASE jumps in Kjerag. I had the nicest two weeks in Lysebotn and I managed to log 6 jumps during that time. Thank you - Elin for a great course - all the good things I hear about you are true - Julien and Mari for traveling company - Jaakko for lending me his gear - Aussies for a great time and advice and - To be mrs. Coombesy for the tits And of course thanks to everyone that have helped me on the way, Maretus, Tony, Mörri, Jussi and the rest who I neglected to mention. /Aave Life is smiling, so why wouldn't I? :)
