  1. I can't compare, but I'm doing Pimsleur's Thai because I can listen to it on my 45-60 minute commute. It takes me about a week per lesson but I listen to the radio too. If you are not going to be a captive audience like me, I wouldn't recommend listening to the CDs. I probably would have shelved it for lack of attention span. But, that said, I'm thinking of learning another language after this one the same way. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. 2. Be happy you weren't seriously hurt. Here, in Florida, you only have to have property damage insurance and PIP -- a first party medical and lost wage system. Pony up for all of the uninsured motorist coverage that you can to protect yourself if you get hurt by an unlicensed, uninsured illegal alien driving an unregistered and untiltled car with a stolen license plate that crash into people on the way home from the DZ. (That's the guy that rearended me but fortunately I wasn't hurt.) -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt
  3. You could also check and see if there's water covering the battery cells. Maintenance free doesn't always mean no maint. If you see the plates exposed add enough distilled water to cover them. Be careful -- it's battery acid. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt

  8. I suspect that the control of such wealth -- after all someone's ass needs to be kissed into making donations -- provides for a pretty nice living. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt

When Valentine worked for Cincinnati Microwave and designed the Escort and Passport ($295 in 1986), you're right. Instant-on leaked signal about .2 mile away and you could only pick up K about 1/2 mile away. So, others had a ton of false alarms and didn't have the sensitivity. (A Bel got me caught at 90 in 55 zone -- well, almost, all of the wolves in the cahse pack were busy as I went by.) Today, I'm not sure that it makes much of a difference by comparison. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt

I've always driven with one (Passport) and it has saved me a lot of money. But, I save a lot more by looking for brake lights and watching for police because laser guns = no advance warning. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. 11. My friend always introduces his "law partner" since they own the law firm together, but I guess that could be misconstrued too. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt

  14. Congratulations!! I think prosecuting opens more doors than defense. If you want to go into civil, you have trial experience where you had the burden of proof. You can also switch over to defense and put former prosecutor on your resume. Criminal cases can also keep the lights on while you develop your practice in another area. 16. I was once turned down for a credit increase on my favorite credit card because my available but unused credit on my many other cards was too high. The decision to extend credit is based on income too. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt
  17. I have heard that canceling credit cards does not help your scores -- one of the things that's considered is the amount of credit you have available versus the amount that you are actually using. I would try to consolidate your credit cards into a bank loan at a lower rate rather than pay the high interest rates. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. 18. Well, as tasers become more common, the abuse of them becomes more common. A headline of "DUI Driver Tased After Punching Officer in the Face" seems appropriate. But it is followed by "Hogtied Woman Tazed Repeatedly". So whether you agree or not it is becoming more common. Responsible taser use is a good idea, but their use must be monitored and abuse cases handled liek the torture that they are. 20. I'm wondering why police officer was controlling a question/answer session in the first place? It seems that there should have been some moderator or someone from the University's faculty or staff to address such problems. Maybe, I missed that part. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt
