  1. I assume what you mean is the sales tax and as much as I know that will be added in other states as well.
  2. Florida for sure is great! I'm visiting there in February from Germany every year. You're having a lot of DZs within a few hours of drive but as of my experience the best are Sebastian - extremly relaxed and friendly and by far the most beautiful view when jumping out of the plane. Free camping at the DZ. Skydive City (Zephyrhills) - extreme relaxed and friendly as well and a great wingsuit community. Free camping and the option to rent a trailer. DeLand - very professional but not the best place for a single fun jumper as of my experience. All these DZs are open 7 days a week in February. Furthermore there is Lake Wales, Skydive Spacecenter and Skydive Spaceland not to far away from the first 3. The weather can be cloudy and it might rain sometimes but I normally left with 50 - 60 jumps and when you can't jump there is the tunnel in Orlando.
  3. I had to go to Vegas from Germany from one day to the next and therefore had no own equipment with me. There I checked with the different DZs if they do fun jumpers and rent equipment. All others told me on the phone that they are only doing tandems. I drove to Jean and checked with them for the gear and the schedule. As a result they only had big student rigs (240 or bigger) as regular rental gear available. As I am a short and light guy and with the wind speed they had this wound have blown me backwards. I thought that would have been the end of my wish to jump there but one of the instructors - thanks again Brian - offered to bring his wifes rig (190) the next day and he did. About the jump everything went well. The landing area is a little bit away in the desert but there was already a van waiting for us to bring us back. The only -in my opinion - really stupid thing is that all Vegas DZs propose to have "Highest Skydive in Las Vegas - 15,000 Feet!". Somehow it is true but misleading as the DZ is at 3,000ft and they go up 12,000 feet which really brings you up to 15,000 feet but pretty much everybody would expect a 15,000 feet jump not jumping from 15,000 when reading the headline. Nevertheless I would come back anytime as of their friendlyness and I can recommand this place to everybody who wants to make a fun jump in Vegas.

    Skydive Sebastian

I went there last August to do an AFF course during my holiday. Far away from Germany and not knowing anybody I felt a bit helpless. The first thing I found was the very nice camp ground which is free to use. Then the very nice lady at the manifest supported me with all the paperwork and hooked me up with my ground school instructor Marc who really did a great job. After the first jumps I was very close to quit as of many reasons but thanks to Marc, Greg, Ian and others at the dz I didn't and after 8 days finished with the A license. I never before found more friendly and supportive people than here. For me Skydive Sebastian is my home dropzone even if thousands of miles from where I live and I will always return to see my friends there again and jump as often as possible with the most beautiful view you can imagine. I have read a comment that the landing of Sebastian is quite small. My recommendation to these people: Never jump in Germany. Here are the landing areas much smaller and they are sometimes not easy to see at all. I'm really looking forward to my next jumps and especially landings in Sebastian. Hopefully in February
