There, fixed it for ya. Don't look too far ahead in this sport, if you want to stay ahead of the sport, Murphy, and the reaper. I downsized, a few times, probably way too fast. The I upsized to where you are. Planning on staying there too. I'm getting better, more high performance canopies, but in the same size range.

What progression method did you use to become a skydiver
RevJim replied to No_Phear's topic in The Bonfire
God is that true. A few off landings prepare you for the one that could go horribly wrong. That one for me was about 1.5 miles off DZ, in a birdman suit, with a very hard pull. Yes, it was certainly my fault. I spotted myself for a perfect flight in the suit, then got a very dirty flight (low fall rate, but also a very low forward speed.) 2 tries, silver. a PD126R doesn't give you ANY time to sit back and think where your landing opportunities are. You find one, NOW, and you have but one chance to hit it. Mine was cross/down wind, in a small front yard, between a porch and a road with power lines. To turn upwind would have cost valuable altitude, and found me in heavy trees. Went back that night with beer and found both the handle and the freebag. I plan on getting a picture of that yard some day, just as a reminder to myself. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1 -
+1 A close second would be poor spelling or mis-used words. (to, too, two and there, their, or they're are big ones, not to mention, people, that you LOSE something whereas your mother is LOOSE.) It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

Starbucks has those ? Well, yes and no. It was all a big misunderstanding one day between a barista and an unhappy customer; Tempers flared, words flew, and the next thing you know, someone took literally what had been said figuratively. OH - I thouht it was just a "Colon Cleansing" . . . I get one every time I go to Starbucks. Funny, I get mine from Pizza Hut. It's your life, live it! +1 I went static line also for a very simple reason. Learn to land on mother earth safely, in one piece, before worrying about what I could do in the sky. Anybody can hit the ground. Static line places emphasis on doing it well, first. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1 -
We all know that John Travolta loves aviation... thus the name Jett.... I can only imagine other names he considered: Boys: 1) Boeing 2) Trim 3) Head Wind (conceived from the front) 4) Tail Wind (conceived from behind) 5) Roger Girls: 1) Abort Takeoff 2) Prop (not quite a Jett) 3) Turbine 4) Flap 5) Gear[\red] Just a thought! Shouldn't that be under boys names? RIP Jett. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

So how are you going to improve your life in 2009???
RevJim replied to iluvtofly's topic in The Bonfire
The bankruptcy that was started last year will be final in January. The divorce will be filed very soon afterward. All 3 of my girlfriend's kids already call me dad, so when HER divorce is final, life will be soooo much better. The more I look back, the more I realize my life is far from bad. That doesn't mean I was happy. Far from it in fact. People have told me how much I've changed in the last 9 months. (It's been 9 months since I was in a horrific accident while driving my semi). I was thinking they had a screw loose. Now I realize that I'm a different person than I was then. Not really "changed" per-se, but different. A few quotes i've found to describe the "newer" me: "I am who I am, Your approval isn't needed." "Many people have told me that I've changed, but the truth is I think I've just found myself." "Be who you want to be, not what others want to see." "There comes a time in life when you have to let go of all the pointless drama and the people who create it and surround yourself with people who make you laugh so hard you forget the bad and focus soley on the good. After all, life is too short to be anything but happy." And one of my favorites: "It's my life. Talk all of your shit as if I give a fuck." So, even though I KNOW 2009 will rate among the best years of my life, it took 2008 (and before) to make 2009 great. Here's to all of you finding what it takes to make the rest of your lives EXACTLY what you want. -
Thanks for saving me the time of trying to find that link. Now the only question... How many should I order? I don't know.... let's bump that dick thread again to double check ......... I'm innocent. Nah. You're not. Nice rubber bracelets. I have no idea what you are talking about. p.s. They're silicone. Rubber degrades and does funky stuff to your skin. It's your life, live it! Reasons to 'comp' an alcoholic beverage - please discuss.

What was the situation? Sitting at the bar? Having dinner? At a bar at Ruth's Chris Steak House - ordering food to go... had already given the bar tender a 15% tip on the food. Simple. It's not about the bj he just got. It's about the one he wanted to get. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1 -

Kudos for not putting the link to the "Magnum" sized vibrating ring. Some men aren't that secure. Wow, my little buddy has grown up to be a beautiful young lady. Jim, it does me good to see you looking happy-miss ya bro' Thanks Shane! I won't lie and say it's been easy. Far from it, but I'm doing well. Making it through the holidays is rough. Yes, Kortney is growing. Too fast if you ask me. She's 14 now, and I'm going to try and keep her away from the dz for a bit. Stop Bolas! You begin to sound like Al Gore! On the other hand, YOU DID invent the Drunk Dialing List! Could you be in line to be the next world peace Nobel Prize honoree? Actually, Kris opened his mouth about it some time ago, so I nominated him keeper and it the motion was carried before he knew what was happening. He smartly got out of his duties. Something about a wife, or a kid, or moving, or something like that. And Bolas was dumb enough to take it over. Well, I wouldn't call him dumb, just naive ! Oh, no. He knew what he was signing up for, and he said yes anyway. hahahahaha It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

Woo hoo! I was scrolling hoping to see that name! I eat at the one in Houston every time I was down there. Freaking awsome! Cayenne, super monster, chicken and beef, beans, no rice, bunch of fixin's, and dripping with habanero sauce! I'm drooling, it's been a loooong time! Worst: Taco Johns. Below Taco Bell, to like the 10th power. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1

Ya, me too, but I've been getting better at that. I know I haven't been around for a while, but here's a few to show I'm still alive and kickin'! 1st - This last spring, my daughter Kortney and I celebrating her confirmation.

Ya, that did make me smile!

Thanks everyone! I'm sorry I haven't been around. Like 'divot said, it's been a rough patch, and it's not getting much easier right now. Hopefully things will be somewhat cleared up by spring. I seriously miss all my friends here. Divorces are not exactly a fun, stress free time. Couple that with me being my typical, passive self and I end up with a house payment, truck payment, all the standard bills, plus child support. It's not a good feeling knowing that you have a job that pays quite well, yet after paying the bills you have about a hundred bucks left at the end of the month for food. Kinda nixes skydiving for now. Yet she can still go out to the bars and/or gambling at least once a week. Not that I'm bitter. Really. Hey Steve, I've still got that drawing, and use it from time to time as my avitar. Thanks! Again, thanks everyone. Your support is greatly appreciated! It's your life, live it! I voted 1-3 because that was the lowest drinking choice. It's actually much lower than that. Normally it's more like 2-4 a month, boogies not included. Once at a boogie, I'm a lush. It's your life, live it! Karma RB#684 "Corcho", ASK#60, Muff#3520, NCB#398, NHDZ#4, C-33989, DG#1
