  1. Anyone have any experience with these cameras? http://beardevil.com/cube#.U6MLkvldXE4
  2. I had to have my hardware removed as well, at about the 8 month mark after the original ORIF surgery. There was grinding and clicking on the tendons in my wrist, causing pain in my fingers and palm. Doc said 15% of hardware needs to be removed- shitty luck for me. I was in and out of day surgery and back jumping in three weeks. Packing was very difficult, though, as I had very little strength in that hand. It turned out to be good exercise, though, as I gained my strength back quickly. Still doing physio to help break up the scar tissue and work on RoM. I'm at about 80%. As someone else mentioned, though, I don't expect to get 100% back. My wrist/hand will never be the same. Docs also mentioned it's likely I will end up with arthritis in that hand/wrist.
  3. I had a similar injury- landed off, downwind, slid in the landing and smashed my hand on a rock. My distal radius exploded into three pieces. I had the plate and screws put in. I jumped again 8 to 9 weeks after, but it really depends on how your recovery goes. I still didn't have anything close to full RoM back, but I could pull all my handles and fly my canopy. I would not have had the strength to pull out of a dive if I got myself into a sticky situation. My mental state was OK. I was a little nervous on landings for a bit after getting back in the saddle. No more so than I was when I first started jumping, though. The reality of injury is a lot more present for me now, obviously. I've had a bunch of shitty landings, going ass over tea kettle, but never had more than a few scratches and bruises as a result. Take your time, heal up. The sky will always be there.
  4. I bought a pair of freefly pants from these guys. My order somehow got missed and not processed, but Chris was quick to make up for it. I understand the troubles that can be involved in starting a new business. I'll most likely buy from these guys again and give them the benefit of the doubt. They make a great product.

    Sidewinder

I had my Sidewinder custom made for me, and you can tell the level of attention to detail put into the manufacturing. Al actually made a whole new template for my rig due to the fact I have a long torso. This rig fits me very well, and I barely even know it's on under canopy. I don't do much FreeFlying yet, but I do know another guy who free flys with his Sidewinder with no issues. It's easy to pack and very durable. Customer service is top notch as well, Al is very friendly and easy to get a hold of if yo have any questions or concerns. I highly recommend this for a beginner rig, or if you just want something very comfortable.
  6. You'll need to jump with a C2 if you want those 2 way RW endorsement jumps required for CSPA A license. Most dropzones should have a C2 available for these coach jumps. Normally, it is expected you pay for their slot on the jump, and some coaches also request a coaching fee ($10 or $20). Have you asked Skydive Toronto who the C2s are at that DZ?
  7. Practice your dive out exits. Can you exit poised and stable every time? How about ride the slide and fly on your back for a bit? You can always experiment with different angles of exit to see how the wind affects your stability... Are you jumping out of a Cessna, or a bigger plane?
  8. I have stow bands on my leg straps, and that seems to keep them in place just fine. A rigger should be able to provide you with those.
  9. I've bought a few items from the US and received them here in Canada without any issues. I haven't had to pay any duty/taxes on anything. It depends on the description of the contents being shipped and the declared value on the customs form- that's what determines the amount of duty/taxes to be paid.
  10. Check here: http://www.miragesys.com/sizing-guide/ At the very bottom of the page is the M8 container. Hope that helps.
  11. Sweet, I just sent in an email to support about this. cheers!
