  1. From a FB page I frequent ... and you KNOW that I love the rescue stories! This is FANTASTIC!!! http://www.lifewithdogs.tv/2012/05/death-row-dog-pilots-plane-and-pack-of-peers-from-kill-shelter-to-freedom/
  2. I lost my sweet boxer 2-1/2 years ago to cancer. It was a week from diagnosis to me deciding I had to say goodbye. He declined very quickly. You'll know when it's time. As others have said. You'll just know that your furkid isn't happy. Enjoy the time you have left. Cuddle lots. And pile on the treats. As hard as the decision is, it's the most selfless thing you can give to your kitty. Hugs to you and your furkid.
  3. Training your dogs to keep them away from anything that can cause them harm is a good thing. 15 mins seems short to me though. Even with a shock collar. I believe (and I haven't used them so I'm not sure) but that training is repetitive. Is there additional training that you have do at home to enforce it? Just curious. The only thing I need to keep my dogs away from are snowmen. 'Shell

  5. Thanks for the reminder. I just updated the counter. She just needs to change her link (and refresh the page). Thanks Krisanne! 'Shell
  6. Yep. Friday and Monday were a holiday for me. Not every company gives the Monday off but the UofA gives EVERY holiday off! And if they fall on a weekend, you get the following Monday off instead. I LOVE my job!!! 'Shell
  7. Why not! I conveniently have vacation scheduled for precisely those dates! 'Shell
  8. 1977 Honda Civic Hatchback - purchased from my brother in 1985. For $250. It had an AM radio (with beer caps on the dials) and burned more oil than gas. The wipers would go back and forth when you were doing more than about 60k. And the windows would vibrate down at about 70k. Then there was the day the stick shift vibrated it's way out of the car and I had to try and shift AND hold it up to get home! It was a cute blue car. His name was Wembly. I sold him for $250 about 4 years later. I do miss that little car. But I LOVE my Grand Cherokee Overland WAY more!!! 'Shell
  9. Don't do Starbucks but I do love my Timmies. And the leftover change goes into their change box for their kids camps.
  10. Well, it's just under 2 weeks out and we're ready!!! About 200 people in total and 127 jumpers. If you haven't read Richie's emails, here's the scoop! Manifest will be open on March 2nd for assorted paperwork. Make sure you have your license and an in date rig. There won't be any jumping on the 2nd (they're doing a demo that day) . There is a MANDATORY briefing the morning of March 3rd and then manifest will be open for waivers, gear checks and we'll let the games begin!!! Rich has done a TON of work for this boogie. This is the FIRST civilian jumping EVER in Nicaragua. Please remember that we are guests of Nicaragua, the Barcelo Montilemar and of Rich and Kristine Grimm. Please conduct yourselves accordingly. There are a few invite only demos but there are a few "all are welcome" demos going on throughout the boogie. We'll have lots of info available at manifest on the big white boards. Read the emails that Rich has sent. They have all the info you need to get there. Once you're there, we'll have the rest of the info. SAFE travels everyone. We'll see you on the beach!!! And the countdown is on ... 12 sleeps until most of you get there!!!! 'Shell
  11. What??? I thought *I* was the only one that could help him! When I see him in Nicaragua, I will BEAT that 1200 Euros out of him! 'Shell
  12. That's CABANA ya wannabee! And you better have prezzies for the lovely manifest ladies if you know what's good for you! 'Shell
  13. I've been in the same job for 22 years. I have a 15 minute commute each way (yes, even in WINTER when the roads are SHIT - I don't work the regular hours that most do heading into campus - I work an hour earlier). I'm lucky that I LOVE my job and have no intention of leaving it until I retire in about 10 years. After a commute like that, I couldn't imagine having one that took longer. I can leave work at 330pm, head towards home, hit the grocery store and still be home before 4pm. 'Shell
  14. That is AWESOME!!!! 'Shell
  15. DAMN!!! That means I'll actually have to work!!! Everyone that's coming ... form an orderly line and be nice to the manifest wenches. We have a time out chair and we know how to use it!
  16. Look at the attached photo ... I can see it! 'Shell
  17. Congrats! Make sure you have GOOD window coverings - there's nothing worse than waking up to the sun at 6am when you didn't want to! Get a couple of the attached for your closets - gives you lots of room for clothes, linens, etc. I have one like this with drawers (from Ikea) in it that keeps everything tidy and dust free! Solar lights are handy and pretty up the yard! A tarp outside the door underneath your welcome mat will help keep the dirt down. Enjoy your new traveling home!
  18. Well, I didn't GoPro my dog but Tucker did manage to get ahold of my (former) Olympus Stylus Tough, turn it on and record the evidence! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RS-V6Onekm8 'Shell
