  1. Tandems only cost $90 in the movie - that was probably the most unrealistic thing of all. Skydiving is serious business
  2. Lol I'm so sick of the whole "you're gonna kill somebody else" copout that's used to justify being a canopy nazi. It's a bullshit line because in reality it's extremely rare that that happens. I'm sure the dinosaurs here will quickly jump on this and dig up every single instance of it occurring they can think of (which will probably be around 2-3 times in the last DECADE) and then claim it was due to rapid downsizing when it probably wasn't. Ledballoon, don't listen to the haters bro. Keep learning your wing, learn it well, fly it well, and have fun! Skydiving is serious business
  3. The NSA has no right to steal my private information. I'm glad someone had the courage to expose their crimes. Skydiving is serious business
  4. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/search.cgi?catid=11&query=190&mh=100 Skydiving is serious business
  5. I meant the most recent fatality. Sure if you count the most recent chest-strap "incident" that's another story... Btw how did you know my real name is Ted? Skydiving is serious business
  6. Damn, I guess the bar has been set. I'm gonna have to outdo this guy. Skydiving is serious business
  7. Thankfully, no, I haven't been to a DZ that's gone full Gestapo mode on every jumper who ever shows up. Even the recent NSA Verizon scandal would be less disturbing than that. Skydiving is serious business
  8. When the most recent of such incidents you can find is from 2001, that says a lot in support of my position. Skydiving is serious business
  9. Wait until you have to tell her you had your first cutaway... that's when it gets interesting Skydiving is serious business
  10. I don't care if you beat me in a freefall speed competition... Skydiving is serious business
  11. Head down? What's the big deal? Or is that supposed to be a really bad veiled suicide reference or something? Skydiving is serious business
  12. Blah... that required me to dig through the pages. 17 May 2015 you say? Alright, on May 18 I'll be coming for my jump ticket bro Skydiving is serious business
  13. Sounds good. What's your date? Skydiving is serious business
  14. Nah nah... 2 people predicted my death, just because I agree that 50 jumps is sufficient for a small-format camera (just like Canada and many US DZ's) even though no fatality has ever been caused by a camera. If you're going to predict someone's death just because they disagree with you, then naturally when the date passes, they should get a public apology. I'll be waiting :) Skydiving is serious business
  15. What do I get if I survive past all the bounce bingo dates? I should get some kind of prize and apology, that's only fair. Skydiving is serious business
  16. Maybe you should just worry about minding your own fucking business and stop trying to be the dictator of others. What a novel idea! Skydiving is serious business
  17. Sweet! What's the date on that? Skydiving is serious business
  18. That's not bad advice, but it's unrealistic for every jump. Skydiving is serious business
  19. You're just thinking freefall technique. I'm thinking canopy control and landing technique. The AFF example was to illustrate a point. Skydiving is serious business
  20. Lmao... that guy was an idiot to the highest order, with or without camera
  21. Almost killed the DeLand jumper.... Thank god he got good video! No, he almost got killed trying to re-fasten it when he should have just let it be. What almost killed him was thinking it was necessary. Skydiving is serious business
  22. A misrouted chest strap???? Oh man, call in the fire department! Skydiving is serious business
  23. I actually wouldn't be opposed to a training course, as long as the jumper could take it at any time. I don't believe in restriction, but I believe in education. Skydiving is serious business
  24. LMAO... writing "due to camera" after a bunch of incidents doesn't make them due to the camera, that is just your speculation. None of those are even serious incidents. If every single cutaway, line twist, or off-landing were considered an "incident" then the incidents forum would fill up so rapidly that the owners of this site would need to buy their own data center. The very worst thing in your entire collection of 22 "incidents" was a sprained wrist. Remove the ones of questionable causation and you have maybe a grand total of 15 very minor events in which a camera could have been a contributing factor, in the last what 10 years? Compare that with the new fatalities we see every week due to low pulls, failed swoops, and mere bad luck and, well it's pretty clear there is no real legitimate basis for the anti-camera propaganda. 25. Sweet, another 2 years! Skydiving is serious business
