  1. Thanks I appreciate that. That's more of the response I was looking for.
  2. That's funny! I didn't know I was to specify while standing on the ground.
  3. Does anyone know the weight of the G3 helmet? I didn't see it in the information on any of the sites.
  4. Looking to by a G3 helmet and wanted to know how to sizing charts work for them? The reason I'm asking is my measurement is 23". Now do I go with the large or extra large which goes from 221/4 to 23, and the xx large goes from 23 to 24. I don't know how the lining is in them. If I get the xx large can I add extra padding into it to make it fit more snug if I find it on the loose side? Or is the lining thick and it will compress down after wearing it for awhile if it's too snug? Sorry for having so many questions. I live in Canada so if I need to return it for another size there are extra charges for crossing the board. Kelly
  5. Thanks guys. The G3 is going to be ordered soon. Any tips on sizing? Did your fit right when using there measuring chart?
  6. That sounds great. Do you find the helmet light weight?
  7. I've been looking a lot at the differences in the full face helmets. I'm really looking at the G3, but just wondering if there is a lot of distortion in the visor. My main reason for a full face is so I can wear my glasses but don't want to misjudge distance because of distortion. I also want something light but don't see weights list for the helmets. Thanks in advance Kelly
  8. I guess this all makes sense. It was just a question that just popped into my head. Now I have the answer. You disconnect just as an added prevention of a possible snag. Thanks guys
  9. I haven't see the lanyard on the RSL to how long it is. I assumed it would only be about 6-8" long. So I wouldn't think that would be long enough to snag. But I'm am very new and still learning. So what would know.
  10. I just rencently got my "A" and have not been back to my drop zone to ask this question. I have been told and also read that when you have two canopies out to disconnect your RSL if you have time before you cut away. What is the reason for this since the reserve is already depolyed.
  11. That makes a lot of sense. I see some of the stuff that others do really close to the ground. Even though it might look cool, it also looks like you can get seriously hurt if you do one little thing not just right. I'm not will to take that chance in a sport where your already taking your chances to begin. I just got my license this past Saturday. Although I'm very happy and proud of that, I'm a little nervous because I had guidance through this process. And now I kinda feel like I'm on my own.
  12. I'm still a student with 20 jumps and hope to be licensed in the next week or so. I take this sport very seriously because I love it and would like to be around for a long time to doing it. I read a lot online but would like suggestions on what you think would be the best material that would be good for someone at my level of jumping. My proficiency card was completed by jump 17 and the rest are just self supervised jumps until my check. Look forward to hearing your ideas Kelly
  13. Thanks for the info. I've just started looking through dropzone.com and not familiar with how things work on this site. But it definitely looks like a good place to get a lot of information on whatever I need. Thanks for your help Kelly
  14. Hi everyone I'm an AFF student with 14 jumps and would like to get some packing lessons. The nearest drop zone to me is an hour and a half away from me. I live in the Windsor Ontario area in Canada across from Detroit MI. I would need to do evenings or weekends. I look forward to hearing if anyone can help me out or point me in the right direction. Thanks Kelly [email protected]
  15. She wasn't that happy that I continued to pursue my A license. She was hoping it going to be one of those " I can now say I did it but don't want o do it again" moments. She supports me anyways because she sees how much I love it. She was stressed the first couple of times but now that she sees that safety is number one and she has met he instructors she's much better. I think I get more stressed or nerves before a jump then she is.
  16. I'm loving every minute of it. My next jump is diving out and doing my first front flip. I've been looking forward to it but the weather has not been co-operating. I've been trying to do this jump for two weeks now. In one day I went up twice and had to come back down with the plane because there was no opening in the clouds. I'm in the Windsor area and he closest place to me is Skydive Tecumseh, an hour and a half from here in Michigan. I can do this all the time if money and distance wasn't a factor.
  17. I'm a new skydiver from the Windsor area in Canada. I started this past June with a birthday gift from my wife for a tandem. I was instantly hooked. I am now an AFF student working on my 8th jump. Just want to say hi and hope to learn so much more from the more experienced jumpers.
