  1. Loose laterals may cause a side spin but would never cause a passenger to slip out of the harness. In the video you can see the "instructor" fitting the harness to the customer and in the preloading scene, you see the back strap hanging loose. That was the major mistake. Second was forcing her out of the plane. Both should be actionable. just a question on this? If the back strap is what keeps people in the harness, then how did all those thousands survive before the backstrap, like a vector II or Eclipse or Racer harness?? I personally learned on a vector II harness and never lost anybody
  2. Vector velo 84 both top mount on vapor pro 5000+ 2000+ camera last 2 chops were both on skyhooks. Loved it
  3. An Xti with a sigma 15mm, matches very well with a Century .5 HD lens
  4. masturbation. No where near as fun as the real thing
  5. nowhere in the Koran does it say you receive 77 virgins upon entering heaven. interesting video about the 1 person reading the koran http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Y2Or0LlO6g
  6. if you are referring to Petra, I didn't know they were commercially available yet. Also if they haven't addressed the collapsing issue like the one that happened in Dubai, I would think twice about it. I love Icarus Canopies but watching something collapse mid dive was scary to see.
  7. A lot of people mention batteries dying in a digital, but they seem to forget that analogs need a little gentle care or they will go out of calibration. Within the last year I had to send in an Alti3 for service it came back still out of calibration. I bought a new Alti galaxy in the meantime and it was sticking on the way down as well. BRAND NEW and already needed service. So now I have 2 Galaxies that now function. So while you may need to change batteries, if you do a proper gear check you can see if your battery is dying on a digital altimeter before you get in a plane. An analog however you can't tell if its wrong unless ya are in the air (or have a pressure chamber to check it). I personally use a VISO, the Analogs were for students.
  8. just flare with one toggle whats the worst that can happen ok now serious answer. On my canopy (velo 84) if I am at toggle flair time and i drop a toggle, i just flair with the rear riser and a toggle. I have done this intentionally specifically in-case of this scenario. However I "hook" my hand (palm down) when I flare so the odds of dropping a toggle are pretty low.
  9. curious why you didn't completely type the word sand nigger but you felt that gook was acceptable?
  10. Wrong. Road blocks have been deemed as constitutional in that they are not discriminatory as long as everyone on the road way is subject to the stop. Back to the main subject; if these were being conducted by TSA (which they are not) then you would have a HUGE jurisdictional/authority problem. I still don't understand how you can search anybody without PC. Just because you do it to everybody does not make it right? How is it still not violate the 4th amendment? Not arguing just trying to get edumacated
  11. It's likely that they will call the regular cops. I'm sure they have an agreement with them, and the cops are waiting on the other side of the trap. It's my understanding that they have been operating in cooperation with local LEOs. If I were to get stopped by the TSA, I'd have a similar response. Do you have a warrant? No? ok, let's get the real cops involved then. Even then its still goes against the 4th Amendment (illegal search and seizure) They cannot go fishing to find something. They have to have prior cause to search. Having a roadblock checkpoint is fishing not prior cause
  12. Yeah Alex Jones has been covering this for a while. TSA are now setting up checkpoints on Roadways in the US. However TSA are not sworn Peace Officers, so really they are nothing more than a security guard with no real authority. Viva Revolution
  13. prepare to get a verbal beating from the anti 2nd amendment peeps on here. Now as for the optics it really depends on what it will be used for and what distances. I had a Eotech Xps2-0. I loved it. Only concern is battery life which is around 600 hours. Never had an aimpoint but there battery life is something like 5000 hours. However for my next build I am going with http://www.trijicon.com/na_en/community/whats_new_item.php?whats_newID=news_99
  14. Unfortunately, you can't be home 100% of the time. Most guns used by criminals are stolen from legal gun owners..... Telling the criminals who has guns is like handing them a shopping list... Bad idea. would love to see the resource where you got that statistic, that most guns used in crimes are stolen from legal owners.
  15. As any teacher will tell you, you never tell anybody what NOT to do (because that is exactly what they will do). If you only teach them what to do then there will be no confusion as to what their responsibilities are.
  16. our just fly without them. have thousands of camera jumps never using booties. While they are great when ya need them, they do limit you in some aspects
  17. blow switch for the ftw. Contrary to popular mis-information the box for the blow switch can be very small (smaller than an audible). And they never gunk up. If it does you may want to take a look at your hygiene habits. Having said that you do need to practice with how hard you need to blow into it to release the shutter.
  18. I have a Sigma, but I wish I bought the actual Canon 15mm. Its smaller and lighter. From what I read online it is supposed to focus faster but I haven't tried it to confirm this.
  19. there is a lip on the edge of the lens it holds the holder on the lens. The filter then screws into the holder
  20. directly over the top isn't the best place to be for not only safety reasons, but for the difficulty of shooting video. The more over the top you are the more you need to tuck your chin down to keep them properly framed. During blocks its pretty easy for a flyer or a piece to shoot under you taking them out of frame. When it looks like a camera flyer is directly over the top they usually aren't. At most usually their finger tips are just inside the burble. As for that invisible wall, my suggestion is to go ahead and fall through it a few times. Only way you will ever know where it is and how to avoid/get out of it. Main thing is to KEEP FLYING when it happens. Just because you fall through the burble doesn't mean you have to land on them. Using your wings (which you should be flying) and you legs its pretty easy to fly through the burble from one side to the other. If you are going to land on them I would highly suggest keep flying as large as possible till the last possible second, and try to push off of them before your body makes contact. Ideally pushing off of their rig is a lot better than landing on a neck (Seen it before in a comp. not pretty).
  21. i've given mine to a student who's altimeter failed on the ride up. I just looked at their's (mine) in freefall.
  22. according to a PD team member on site (not gonna give out a name) its a comp velo with some prototype tweeks to it. Nothing certain on the mods just seeing what works.
  23. As I stated earlier winds were varying I would say between 5mph on the lulls to maybe 10-12 on the gusts. All the turns were made over light colored sand, and temps were in the 80's. Over 100 other competitors made practice jumps with no problems.
  24. Wind was off the water and the direction put them downwind on distance and quartering cross on speed runs. These were all practice rounds. Temp was about low 80's winds were gusty at times but always from the same direction. FS teams were landing on the palm and wind seemed consistent there, at least when we were landing.
