  1. Chuteless passed away last xmas day... If some old guy can do it then obviously it can't be very extreme. Otherwise he'd already be dead. Bruce McConkey 'I thought we were gonna die, and I couldn't think of anyone
  2. You mentioned your grandmother also jumped. What was her name? And do you have any articles or pictures you could scan of your grandparents? That would be great If some old guy can do it then obviously it can't be very extreme. Otherwise he'd already be dead. Bruce McConkey 'I thought we were gonna die, and I couldn't think of anyone
  3. just reading the post about FAA's medical reforms, and it made me wonder - what are the rules about ti's and dui's. Not being from the US I'm not familiar with FAA medicals TI's had to do there, but I understand that if you have a dui you may lose your medical, and thus your rating? For how long? Can you get it back? If some old guy can do it then obviously it can't be very extreme. Otherwise he'd already be dead. Bruce McConkey 'I thought we were gonna die, and I couldn't think of anyone
  4. This seems right to me. You could, though, make a pretty fair argument that killing any sort of animals for sport is wrong. Yet the sailfish remains on my wall.... and yet in china dogs are killed for a very good reason -- people eat them... If some old guy can do it then obviously it can't be very extreme. 5. Culling of different species occurs in most provincial and national parks in Ontario, Canada, as well. frequently, 100's of deer. sometimes bear... 6. they're asking about tandem jumps. I was on Bob's 14000 jump a couple years back, and he may have close to 10000 pff jumps, but I doubt he's done a tandem ever... If some old guy can do it then obviously it can't be very extreme. Otherwise he'd already be dead. Bruce McConkey 'I thought we were gonna die, and I couldn't think of anyone
  7. I believe I know 2 Canadians who fit your list. Bruce Robertson of sun path, now in north Carolina and probably Rob Stanley, now at cross keys, I believe If some old guy can do it then obviously it can't be very extreme. 8. Yup, it's a crazy system you have down there. Single payer baby, it's the way to go. That is, if you want your healthcare system to be about...say....healthcare. If you want it to be mostly about insurance company profits, well, keep going down the road you're on. right. If you want to wait for treatment until there's no point in waiting for treatment. Or if, as in my mother's case, you want to take an ambulance to the hospital when it decides it should divert and pick up a second patient in order to save money. Too bad if my mother had a fatal heart attack on the way to the hospital after they picked up the second person... That's health care in Canada - no where near as good as people claim If some old guy can do it then obviously it can't be very extreme. Otherwise he'd already be dead. Bruce McConkey 'I thought we were gonna die, and I couldn't think of anyone
  9. Because you are the OP of the thread. Nothing you wrote was quoted, which is what I would do if I were responding directly to something you wrote. Just because this cop couldn't shoot straight doesn't mean another good guy with a gun couldn't... Many Americans are vets, many are hunters... If some old guy can do it then obviously it can't be very extreme. Otherwise he'd already be dead. Bruce McConkey 'I thought we were gonna die, and I couldn't think of anyone
  10. 'doubt' the suit will be successful is not the same thing as the 'the suit will not be successful'... Secondly, the prosecutor was out of line, and perhaps a lawsuit, even if unsuccessful, will cause her to think about her actions in future. It may also have the effect of causing people in her area to wonder about her suitability when her term is up... If some old guy can do it then obviously it can't be very extreme. 11. last time I checked, many places have laws against riding a bike on the sidewalk. The kid here is at fault. He got in her face, was going to ride away. Wrong move. 12. can you still edit posts? used to be you got a chance to edit beside the quote/reply button, I thought. I spelled someone's name wrong and can't figure out how to change it now... 13. how do you know db wasn't a skydiver and didn't make a lot more jumps? If some old guy can do it then obviously it can't be very extreme. Otherwise he'd already be dead. Bruce McConkey 'I thought we were gonna die, and I couldn't think of anyone
  14. I would give you Gary Connelly, based on his Olympic performance with James Bond and his wingsuit landing on a bed of boxes, but Pastrana is not famous for parachuting, he's famous for Nitro Circus or whatever his show is. I've heard of Eric Ronner, but not sure where. I don't know that Jeb Corliss is famous to those outside of skydiving/base jumping community, although I guess he was in the remake of Point Break. I might tend to think more along the lines of Shane McConkey, but even he I'm not sure of. Maybe Felix Baumgartner based on his red bull altitude record. If some old guy can do it then obviously it can't be very extreme. Otherwise he'd already be dead. Bruce McConkey 'I thought we were gonna die, and I couldn't think of anyone
