  1. here's the video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_Ko0u5agQs
  2. He's the best. Very reserved but I always get a smile out of him!
  3. here is a pic of the camera guy for my friends tandem. They were right behind me. Thanks for the pic Festi!
  4. You bet!!! Gotta go get that A!
  5. I don't recall a tall goofy looking jumper. So either you weren't goofy enough, or our general space-time coordinates just never quite overlapped. I only had time for one jump. Load 9 I think it was? I got there around 11:30'ish and left around 1'ish. Short day for me. Same here. Only jumped once and I think it was right around then too. And trust me I am plenty goofy
  6. Really? You see a tall goofy AFF student in the bright red jumpsuit? That was me lol and my friend did her first tandem with Trevor
  7. Boom I officially graduated the AFF course today! Feels so good. Now I am solo baby! It was the most perfect weather, perfect day, and perfect jump. I'm soooo happy! As soon as I landed, one of the instructors caught me on the way out of the pack room and screamed BEER. he didn't waste any time Lol. what an amazing day.
  8. cant someone just jump with a camera on the altimeter? seems like that would be the most conclusive
  9. Yes, this can happen from being sore from a number of things, just something to be aware of, as most people are really sore after tunnel time. So I'd also suggest practice touches in the tunnel if you aren't already. I'm sure I am "talking out my ass" again by providing more food for thought, so take it with a grain.. that's very good advice in my opinion. I always do practice touches in the tunnel via my instructors request and he even makes me fly in the grabbed position to confirm stability during pull.
  10. I got lucky and picked up a brand new cookie G3 off ebay for $300 shipped. Just came in yesterday. I;m not ready to jump it yet but it was a deal I just couldn't pass up! The only thing I am concerned about it the chin strap pad seems wide and when I look down I freel pressure on my adams apple. I'll have to test her out in the future and see what up! lol
  11. I just did 10 minutes with Trevor last night. I love that tunnel, I learn alot fast and really get to work on small controled movements. We should jump sometime in DeLand!
  12. hit thtnel again last night! 10 more minutes. This time I learned backwards motion, up and down (fast and slow), side slides, knee turns, and diagonal slides. What a blast!
  13. One of my dz instructors put it to me this way and it really helped. "you are thinking at 150mph. We are only falling at 120mph. Jut chill out and cut back on the caffeine drinks lol" and another one told me "this is not a thinking man's sport" when I put those two together, the next jump was a piece of cake. I still crap my pants every time the plane levels off and that door opens. But that's the fun of it. Face Your Fears and life will be amazing!
  14. Got to jump level 6 today before the rain came. LOVE tracking for sure And the flips were really cool feeling. Nikki laughed and said they were crazy cockeye flips but I recovered just fine and passed no problem. I'm 6'0" and 137lbs with out gear. It's hard to flip my bony ass lol. Should be Doing my grad jump next weekend and gonna learn mantis wed night. Loving this sport!
  15. I did the tunnel and it helped alot! Went to the DZ the next day and combined 4 & 5 into one jump. It is amazing how much more relaxed I was after a quick trip to the tunnel. Going to jump 6 and 7 this weekend hopefully and already booked more tunnel time Wed. to work on mantis. I love this sport! Don't let a failed level or two get you down. I was bumming bad when I failed 3 for the second time but once you get over it and move forward it is really worth it
  16. I'm going back to the tunnel Wednesday for more training. I love it!
  17. that's the biggest rush for me. When the plane slows down and levels off and someone upfront opens the door, That is when my heart beats a million times per minute! Then when I get to the door I get all jittery and have to REALLY focus on breathing nice and slow and moving nice and slow (which is still really fast when I see video lol), once I am off the plane everything immediatly relaxes and it feels MUCH better to free fall. It's funny how that happens.
  18. UPDATE: did level 4 and 5 in one jump Saturday after 10 minutes in the tunnel Friday night. What a WORLD of difference. Trevor got me all straightened out in the tunnel and I was SO comfy in the air the next day. I can't wait to try some flips Monday for level 6! Lindsey was my instructor for the 4/5 jump and we had a blast. Another stand up landing and I remembered almost everything this time LOL. Trevor told me this: "This is not a thinking man's sport. Just relax and do it." And he was right. I over think everything and I was making me a really stiff nervous jumper. Now I know to relax and just enjoy it. Let all my training and muscle memory come to me. Worked out perfect!!!!
  19. I did something like that on aff2. 6000 I locked on, 5.5 I decided to see what the ground looked like and didn't pull fast enough. I reached back around 5.3 to pull my chute but it was missing! then I got snapped back and realized my main side instructor beat me to is by half a second lol. He said he just wasn't sure if I was gonna pull or not so he was doing it to be safe. I passed since I was right behind him with the reach, he said he literally could have handed me the pilot chute. I went on to fail level 3 twice just outta nerves and being so stiff. Hit up the tunnel for a 10 minute sesh and ended up doing 4 and 5 in one jump. Going for level 6 Monday. So don't worry about it. Keep it up, and ALWAYS try to learn something. No matter where you are at the DZ keep your eyes and ears open. It'll help ALOT I promise
  20. Yeah it was at ifly. Worth every penny. Got my shit figured out in 1:30 and was having a blast the rest of the time. Then Saturday I jumped and they combined 4 & 5 into one jump and I nailed it!!! I had sooo much more fun this time and I feel really good about moving forward. The tunnel really worked for me!!!
  21. Thanks for all the positive feedback! Trevor called me today and let me know that I can get in the tunnel Friday! After talking with all my instructors, we've decided that I don't need to redo 3 and am cleared for one instructor, but the tunnel will allow me to do 4 with much more confidence. I'm super pumped!
  22. Thats the point. I am trying to get funds together but level 3 is an expensive jump to have to do over and over again.
  23. thanks, felt good to "get back on the horse"
