OK, need some advice. I'm putting a Sony A6000 on a true camera helmet. I've got the camera, getting the mouth/tongue switch, and the helmet. What should I NOT do and what SHOULD be done. I've got a few jumps and I'm more than a little safe (I think so anyway). Any good suggestions and advice is more than welcome. Thanks.

get the tonfly 2.5 or cookie fuel with dual plates. If you are setting it up to pair with a gopro either setup is nice and compact and fits well with the a6000.I have run the nex3n, 5100, 6000, and now 6300. Make sure you get a 90 degree multi terminal adapter for your switch to minimize chance of breaking. I just ordered the one from Kris "Sky Switches" off of here since my hypoxic ones keep falling apart.

  2. I know when I feel like I am getting a mental block, I switch it up the next round. I don't know what time you were there but we did a game of "tunnel ball" for the last round of my first 15 minute block. That silliness was enough to rejuvenate me and I cam back for the next 15 doing layouts and head down! Daniel and Benji were awesome as always and I have never left one of these camps feeling bad. I always learn something new and get better at the old stuff.

The HypEye with it's different indicators is the most advanced LED system for a GoPro I have seen. But I went with something a little simpler. My GoPro is now in one button mode, hit the power button and it's instantly recording video. So in single button mode with this plugged into it - http://www.cam-do.com/GoProLED.html I don't have to take my helmet off or ask someone am I blinking? Hit the power button and the LED comes on I know I'm recording.

until you get a NO SD reading and think you recorded the entire jump when really you were just "ON" the entire jump. IF you are using a gopro for tandem video (and many do) with a sweet DSLR or mirrorless on top to show guests you mean business, I suggest you reconsider switching to the TURNED ON system when it becomes available. Just my worthless two pennies :P fun jumps are the best videos when every one's footage starts with someone else staring at the camera and shaking their head yes lol

  4. I am 5'11" and weigh 145 and I know what you mean about hard to find. I have a vector3 with a PDR160 and Sabre2 150 and cypress AAD I might sell. How much are you looking to spend? This is all in excellent condition and the reserve has 0 jumps and the main has around 65 jumps on it.

  5. Only ridden the plane down once so far. We barely made it to 5,000ft when the pilot said "NO GO" and turned us around. We mentioned that perhaps we could just pay a "hop and pop" price since we only made it to that altitude. We didn't mind paying since its for the ride not the jump. Just was hoping they would only hit us for $17 instead of $23. The DZO ended up hearing that we had turned around and with out any notice, gave us all a full refund on the jump. No one even made it to manifest with our hop and pop suggestion before they came over the loud speaker and announced that the ride was on the DZO. Great business there and we continue to direct deposit our paychecks into our jump accounts :P

    I set mine for
    5500 (breakoff)
    4000 (check alti and pull)
2500 (why the fuck dont you have a chute?)

i do this for the 500 feet of "thinking" time, it doesnt take long for you to fall 500 feet, and I fall fast!
I see it as by the time you have heard the warning, and then done the action, you have already wasted time. so I would rather have a little extra "doing" time than have a warning at 5k for breakoff, because by the time you have heard it and turned and gone, your lower than 5k!

    plus I dont trust anything!

I agree with ya but have you actually looked at your visible altimeter while listening to the audible. They actually start beeping about 300 feet or more PRIOR to the designated altitude. If you set it to 4, it is beeping from 4300-3900 roughly. But our brains sometimes lag on thinking and doing like you've stated and that's why I run almost the exact same numbers.
