  1. Oh yes, Peter brings up a good point! The G3 costs 369$ but it ended up costing me 480$ "Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way." -Alan Watts
  2. I bought a G3 from paragear. I'm located in Quebec and had no problems at all. I was worried about the size of the helmet being correct but they assured me that if it didn't fit then I could return it for a different size. Good customer service as well; kept me updated.
  3. If I understand correctly... You're thinking that it's possible that there's a complete cover up story going on regarding the use of a reserve "chute" on a tandem jump that your husband made? I guess that makes sense... It is, after all, more likely than the alternative possibility that a mechanical system failed
  4. "Skydving - helping average guys marry way out of their league for over 60 years." Interesting... I see the opposite at my dropzone. Average-at-best looking girls getting decent looking guys just because of the lack of other girls around. Shah... is that you??? HAHAHA no but Shah and I see eye to eye on the matter. He's a beacon of light "Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way." -Alan Watts
  5. How good are you at managing money? I would assume that some people may purchase the tandem rig and consider the extra money per jump as profit when in reality it needs to go towards the ammortization of the rig and the future maintenance. I'm sorry but I don't really have an answer to the other questions. Just thought I'd offer food for thought

  7. The red flag isn't the fact that she is freeflying. It's the fact that she's getting a pass on the rules of the dropzone because the DZSO 'SAYS' that he believes that he "knows her capabilties". Whether she is indeed capable or not is irrelevant. "Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way." -Alan Watts
  8. Makes sense! However, where I jump, very rarely are there still tandems around after the sunset load "Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way." -Alan Watts
  9. When the last load takes off we are free to open beers. During the day the tandems are only allowed to consume alcohol in the parking lot. "Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way." -Alan Watts
  10. I choose to abstain from sexual relations at my DZ for a couple simple reasons: 1) It's my second home, and at one point it's just not going to work anymore and every damn time I go to the DZ I'll have to deal with her. 2) Some girls at my DZ get passed around like the tandem jumpsuits, it's gross. 11. You will discover muscles you never though you had. I'd limit it to 1 hour spread evenly over 3 days if you're not used to it. Even then your muscles/back will be incredibly sore. However, you will improve at a much faster rate than someone who does 1 hour over a month's time!
  12. What was your position on the 320kph jump? I did a very steep dive, head down, hands to my side feet pointed but wasn't able to hold it for a prolonged period of time. "Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way." -Alan Watts
  13. Was curious so i gave it a try hehe, forst naked jump, first speed jump; 319 kph
  14. I don't look down upon other methods, my first post was pointing out the possibility of ulterior motives. And my second was to inform the OP of how we do things at our DZ to give him an idea of other possible progression programs! Furthermore, I have never been to the DZ in which you think that I jump at nor will I ever go there I indicated in my profile that I jump at Adrenaline St-Jerome :) All your points are valid though
  15. I'm sure the standard skydiving diet of ramen noodles has something to do with it as well "Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way." -Alan Watts
  16. Herein lies the problem... the problem is not that she is incompetent in completing the reports. The problem is that your company hired someone who is incompetent at performing a part of her mandate. 17. Based on the screenshot you attached, the fs2 holds a reserve with a 350 cubic in. pack volume and a main with a 350 cubic in. pack volume. A PD Optimum 160 has an approximate pack volume of 330 cubic in. "Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way." -Alan Watts
  18. You're going to want to get a strong tandem system with a 330 main. Ask your instructors why
  19. It's funny because the passengers are usually none the wiser Heard of a story at my DZ where one passenger ran to his friend after there was a tandem reserve ride on the load and said "Hey dude! Did you hear some guy used his reserve parachute?!" The TI who was with that passenger walks by and says ya, it was you! 20. I knew a guy who went 3000 jumps w/o a mal; Then he started doing tandems, and promptly had a tandem mal. That's pretty sick
  21. I was witness to a rather uncomfortable situation this past weekend at the dropzone. A tandem instructor (always a great guy and rather professional) was acting somewhat out of character Sunday afternoon and I found it quite disturbing. There was a group of great looking girls all doing a tandem jump. I witnessed most of the behavior from the gearing up and on the plane ride up. During the gearing up, all of the ladies were offered popsicles by one of the regulars. (Which I found was quite nice
  22. At our dropzone, after you've done a tandem and decided you want to jump solo you do the following: 4 hour theory course 20 minutes training in a wind tunnel 1x Jump with 2 instructors 4x Jumps with 1 instructor 3x Solo jumps 1x 5,000 foot jump 1x Exam jump with 1 instructor All for ~1,600 CAD + tax
  23. It would just be a distraction on a belly jump, especially a 9-way. As soon as you turn to track you should be able to see everyone and their direction
  24. I'm looking forward to my first reserve ride... Can't decide what's cooler: Having had a reserve ride or Going 2,000 jumps without one "Better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way." -Alan Watts
