  1. not sure about jumping in shanghai, but, i'm sure they have some jumping in anyang, and i believe there is a new drop zone operation that started up recently in china, will give website once i can find it...also, you could try thailand, where there are 2 operations, 1 in SriRacha (near Pattaya) and the other in Udon Thani (north-east thailand)...hope that helps you in finding air time in asia, cheers danniel and also a weekend by booking operations in Segamat - Malaysia... 2. Eli, even though I had first met you in Singapore, i was already in great awe at what you have been accomplishing in the world of skydiving...I have been blessed to have met you and the times when we passed each other in Perris with you smiling back at me made me feel that you really cared for everyone, regardless... rest in peace and till we meet again in the blue yonder!!! My prayers go out to your family Danniel Lee - Singapore "Life is full of choices, its what we make of it that really counts"

  4. whereabouts are you based? As for controlled storage box for rig, i don't use one for my rigs, but, i do take them out while they are in storage to do some maintenance on them every once in a while. cheers, Danniel Lee - Singapore "Life is full of choices, its what we make of it that really counts"

  6. Hey Ralph, welcome to singapore. most of our jumps are currently done in udon thani -thailand (near the northern border of thailand and laos). there is supposed to be another drop zone operating in sri racha - thailand (about 30 mins from pattaya) but not too sure if they have started operations as yet. as for malaysia, it is based on a booking schedule although the owners of a cessna 206 is currently back in town and we should be able to see some weekends of jumping. 7. Hey Ben, firstly, the wind tunnel in Genting Highland - Malaysia, is under "repairs" for an "indefinite" period of time ... as for jumping in Asia, only place operating is in Udon Thani - Thailand (north east Thailand, very close to the Thai Lao border = www.thaiskydiving.com), other place is in SriRacha (near Pattaya - www.thaiskyadventures.com) is scheduled to open November 2008 but I heard they hit some snags, as for malaysia, its a bit unreliable for fun jumpers as they operate only when there is a booking, and even then, it might be cancelled at the last moment...indonesia does not have anyone else that can help to arrange for a skydiving session since they lost 2 of their organizers a couple of years back in a plane crash...call me 97318873 if you need to talk more
  8. Hey Paul, nice to know that you're conducting the canopy course...how are you? This is Danniel Lee from Singapore ...
  9. I guess this is where the Singapore segment of his life comes in. When he moved here in the late 90s, he attempted to jump with a new group of skydivers, but, it never materialized. Then he got in touch with me and somehow, we clicked. From then on, Cliff was present on a lot of our trips to Malaysia, Lido and Bali, Indonesia. He made an impression on a lot of people with his flying abilities and also his honest personality with me. As mentioned by others, Cliff has the habit of arguing (some of which I really enjoyed as it was thought provoking) about almost anything under the sun. We had quite a few arguments on how student training and canopy skills were to be taught (he only had a couple hundred jumps then!!! and no ratings too). But, he always had a sensible take on certain issues and because of his natural desire to argue, and at the same time, learn, it did not surprise me to find out that he had gone on to become a great instructor. We all went our separate ways when he had to move back to the US and we only had a few emails exchanged thereafter. It saddens me that in the world of skydiving, where we are all far flung, that we sometimes connect again in the most unfortunate of circumstances. I have, and will miss you dearly, my friend Cliff. Until we meet again where you can teach me to freefly... PS. He is the only non-Asian that I know of that loves DURIANS! And lots of it too...oh, and he enjoyed announcing his burping and farting after gorging the fruit... Danniel Lee - Singapore "Life is full of choices, its what we make of it that really counts"
  10. Dear fellow skydiver, From what I understand, HK used to have a drop zone running until HK was returned to China. I think the DZO then was Gary Lai. Now the expats either go to Thailand (Pattaya-www.extremesportscafe.com or www.skydivethailand.com or Prachuap-Thai Sky Festival) to jump or they will go to China on one of their organised trips (not sure where, which isn't very often). Please send me an email if you need a contact point and I will check with the local HK-China expat on whats happening with the jumping scene.
