  1. I have no experience with Vegas, but I visited Orlando this fall. I only got to do 3 dives in the tunnel, but it really helped me. I was still on student status and it made me a lot more confident in my ability to fall without back sliding and to move forward by using my legs. Add to that it was fun and right across the street from a water park that was a good time. ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo
  2. Just noticed that the Gear and Rigging section hit its milestone 30,000 post. Does a forum owe beer ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo
  3. Don't get too small just because of the letter of the size printed on a tag. If the XL at the DZ fit, get the same. I tried an XL and it was way too tiny, I had to opt for the XXL for my melon(24.25") ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo
  4. You need a baseball hat cam ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo
  5. Bailing Wire and Duct Tape and it is brand new. Heck the Duct Tape even matches the paint job. claim is worth about: 1.50 for wire 6.00 for Duct Tape (Inflated prices due to the rush to put up plastic over windows for the home Biological Warefare kits) ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo
  6. A lot of it depends on how hard you work in Rehab. I have a friend who has had the ACL in both knees torn and repaired. He was back playing recreational soccer in about 9 weeks with his brace on. He also rehabbed like a madman. I have another friend who kinda cruised her rehab and stopped it early and she is still not back to 90% after about 9 months. How was the reconstruction done? 1/3 of patella cut out? Hamstring cut for the donor? Cadaver? This could play a big factor in recovery time, is there a second cut that has to heal? Get well quick. ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo
  7. Saturday we were sitting out back by the landing area at Archway waiting to see load one jump when we noticed a very large bird overhead. When we looked closer, white tail feathers, white head, We had a large Bald Eagle overflying the landing zone. Very cool watching it glide over the area, As the Caravan came over on jump run, the eagle just drifted off into the distance. ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo
  8. Lets try this. At the end of the 48 hour rule, pull all forces out of the area. Then lets take all the money we would spend on the war, invest in infrastructure for hydrogen powered cars. Give the automakers a firm rule, you have 18 months after which time, no more gasoline powered vehicles may be sold in the US, you must get the fuel cells that amoco and shell and everyone are so afraid of working and in production vehicles in 18 months. Oil would still be around for a long time, but if we stopped depending on the foreign sources.... I was surfing the radio today and caught part of a Paul Harvey commentary where he was asking for less foreign oil and his thought was that When the government told Detroit to get the lead out of gas, they did it in 10 months when they said there was no way. He said it shouldn't take a government mandate to produce fuel cell cars. Yes I realize this will never ever happen, but it is food for thought. ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo
  9. Dave, Its that conquest thing. Certain women want what they can't have, but once they conquer you, the thrill is gone and they move on to the next target. It's that whole, I want to marry a nice guy who is sweet and treats me right, but I want to date the nasty biker guy who is daring and never calls. ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo
  10. Yup I have to agree. Climbing a 24 ft extension ladder that flexs as you are climbing bugs me. I also had the sitting next to the door in the Cesna willies. I didn't get over that until I was riding back from some water training. I was sitting on the tailgate of a truck going about 50MPH (the rest of the truck was full of the wet rig and old chute) and I realized that I was perfectly comfortable with my feet dangling over the edge. Why should that be different than the Cesna Door position. If I fall out of the Cesna I have 2 backups, if I fall off of the tailgate ... ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo
  11. House Sit? ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo
  12. One difference is that in the past more people lived or grew up around farms. Now most people grow up in cities with all the amenities. To many who grew up around malls, grocery stores, and movie theaters, camping is missing too much that they are used to. ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo
  13. I think Ted formed Damn Yankees in 89 so he kinda counts ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo
  14. I saw Ted with the Damn Yankees, but it was early 90's. How about every good Van Halen album in the 90's ----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo
