1) Go to a 5 star rated Chrysler/Jeep dealer. 2) Ask about their Certified Pre-Owned inventory. 3) Save big $$$ They check these things out from asshole to appetite, and don't warrant them unless they're 100%. I bought a 2001 PT Cruiser, and a 2002 Jeep Wrangler that way this year. Balance of 8/80 on each, both had around 13k miles on them. Very good deals. If you like the outdoors, get a Labrador Retriever, or mix. They are very bright, most have a super disposition, and man - can they swim. They are also a typically healthy breed - the only thing one must watch out for is hip dysplasia (typical of all large breeds) They adapt to any spacial situation, they have large piss tanks, and they are mucho fun to go stompin' in the woods with. You could get one that's already house trained from the S.P.C.A. The downside - they SHED once a year, for 12 months. They crap a lot. 10 or 12 years ago, I had a friend who would "tune" C.B. antennae to "match" the output of the radio to which they were connected. I was surprised at the performance gain this 5 minute adjustment would make. The tool he used was an SWF (standing wave frequency) meter. The meter was simply connected in line with the antenna, channel 20 selected, mike keyed open, and the antenna trim screw adjusted 'till the meter read as close to "1" as possible. Unfortunately, that friend is no longer alive - and I just installed a new C.B. in my Jeep (with a tunable antenna). I borrowed an SWF meter from a guy who has never used the thing, and it has an unlabeled dial (potentiometer), and a switch labeled "REF" on the front - which I don't remember my friend's meter having. Does anyone know how to use such a meter ? Thanks for any help.

Get a Wrangler Sport or X. The Saharas have hard fender flares that explode on contact. Here's a couple shots of mine. 2002 Sport w/3" Black Diamond suspension lift, and 33 X 12.50 Goodrich A/Ts.
