Ptard, Whats up reggin? Hey, we were supposed to get those with our Wings, but for some reason we didn't. Maybe they didn't have them in service when the order went thru. Call Ankie and ask here. Other than that......whats up......did that pesky infection finally clear up?

When you depoy a BOC, you are placing the pilot chute directly in the airstream. The pilot chute then pulls the pin for you. There is nothing to slow it down. When you jump a pullout, you are pulling the pin first which opens the flaps where your pilot chute is. Depending on how far down the bridle your pilot chute attachment is, you could be leaving your pilot chute directly in your burble. How fast your pilot chute inflates also depends on how you are "throwing" it. With a pull-out, extending your arm completely to the side is the only way to get clean air. In doing this, your pud will be ripped out of your hand when it inflates. Go back to the BOC style until you understand why jumping a pull out is different. These are things that people need to be asking before they jump equipment they are not familiar with. Asking about equipment and why its different AFTER you have jumped it is not a real smart thing to do. It can get you killed.

[replyThe obvious: I do it again! Quote With the other hand?

Yeah, I know what it means. I was being facetious. And no, he was not joking.

Nice reply......told to "chill" I guess that is the OZ way of apologizing?

Yeah, I'm sure no one has ever used rifles for killing dingos. Why the fuck does everyone that is not American have to act so goddamn arrogant and crass..... Does it really annoy you that he decided to take care of his problem with a firearm that you had to categorize a WHOLE FUCKING COUNTRY? I have never seen such holier that thou attitudes as I have seen here on Dropzone.com......you know....the big "family" that is supposed to be our sport. I sure hope your comment made your self feel better about your "superiority".....because it has only shown your insecurity and inquiteude. Edit to add: Yeah, putting traps that shoot poison into the mouth of ANY animal that decided to get the free lunch is a much better resolution to the problem.

Watching a female jumper have an orgasm while sitting of the floor of AZ's skyvan right on the wingstrut line. No kiddin...... -
To be totally honest, no one here is going to be able to give you an educated reply. The only people that can accurately give you advice are the ones that know you and have seen you fly. These are people at your dropzone, like your S&TA, DZO, your rigger, higher skilled jumpers that have experience in the field of canopy control. If you really really are serious about this endeavor, go attend a canopy course from a reputable instructor such as Scott Miller, or the Canopy Piloting School in Perris. They are very worth the money. They are also the very few people who are capable of giving you a honest answer to your questions, as they will have no qualms about telling you what you need to hear. Your friends are not always he best resource, and the internet certainly isn't. Good luck.

Apparently you dont own anything from Ouragan. If you did, you would realize that its night and day between the two manufacturing styles and quality. I've jumped and dissected both and would never, never spend my money on Kurapee..
-
Stu, If you get anything from that company, you will be very unimpressed with what you paid for. Renaming the company Kurapee is more fitting. Do a search under my name and you will see how I corroborate this. Ouragon is the way to go, or others......just not Kurapee. B.

Dave, are you fucking kidding me? Are these the pair I sold you? If they are, and even if they are not, contact me and lets make it right. I haven't been very happy with the people I have been dealing with very much either, so I really dont care if I piss them off. B.

Spoken like a completely uninformed and ignorant individual. You know nothing about me, yet you make lame statements to attempt to somehow prove your point. Your only showing your immaturity. As for the majority of individuals in this world that speak so poorly of our law enforcement, they are for the most part, criminals and low brow trailer folk. Being in the civil service myself, I run into these kinds of people everyday and 9 times out of 10 they have a reason to dislike the police. Probably because they run their lives in such a way that the police are required to babysit them constantly. People that don't like cops: Those that cannot follow traffic laws. Those that cannot heed criminal laws. Those that cannot stop beating their spouse in the trailer park. Those that are habitual drug users Those that are drug sellers. As for the Va cop that was depicted on this thread, yeah, if he is really how you are portraying him, he's an ass, but instead the whole profession gets slammed. This kind of thinking is like saying "All BASE jumpers are reckless individuals, and should be stopped" just because one jumped out of a plane and smacked the ground causing the closure of a DZ in Co.

It probably is...... but how much spupid is to not realize is a joke.....sad go ahead now take it out of your chest Perhaps it was your debotchery of the english language that was misleading.

Thats pretty close to one of the stupidest comments I've ever read.

Corey, Hey dude, whats up. Bummer your leavin that Otter, its a kick ass ride. So here in Pitt Meadows, we have a KA and a couple Cessnas all in really skookum shape. There is a growing group of freeflyers here, mostly in the intermediate range, but defintely some good HeadDowners as well. Were really starting out a new year with a bunch of changes to the DZ that are really designed to encourage freeflying and canopy HP canopy piloting. Come on out and ask for me (Brad) or "Americano" and well LO somethin cool. Better yet, give me a holler on here before you show up and I will make sure I'm there. Ciao. Brad

Yes, there is a difference. I was there canopy training with Clint Clawson, dialing in my HP set-up and when I got home to sea level, I have had to adjust my turn initiation altitude. I was coming out high if I did my 90 at 320 like I was at Perris, so now I make the turn at around 280. But there are other factors as well to take into consideration when jumping at other DZ's. Air density is much different in the desert as it is here at Vancouver BC, so I had to adjust for that as well. Wind directions coupled with the above 2 can make a big difference. If your landing area only allows a N2S or S2N (just for example) you might be getting a crosswind landing with either direction. Now jumping in Moab at 4500ft, with no moisture is sure a hell of alot of fun, but meant that I had to add around 250 feet to my 270's. So in some cases is a huge difference, and rather small for others.

Has anyone here fixed a bad lanc port connection inside of a PC series camera? My 2nd 120 and this port has gone tits up as well.
-
So, what equipment are you guys using to make really small connections? Such as bare wires to 2.5mm right angle plug that has no leads.
